So sorry your daughter is not going to get home Brit. Getting worried now in case mine does not either. It would not have mattered last year as she could have spent it with his family but this year she is on her own. Going back will be the problem as they are much stricter over there.

Glad you rounded up the other pair chatting away in November Molly. Thought I was the only one asleep yesterday. Hope both yourself and JC are feeling better today. Delighted young Satz has that place for the 6 months. Will he come home for Christmas? The tests are a pain, lot of people who were going away for short breaks cancelled this week since it came in. Bet your folks will have a ball Mary and fair play to them for going.

Beautiful morning here and just had a lovely walk in the woods. Feel truly blessed to have it on my doorstep. Off now to do the grocery shop.

Oh Whizzy, what a damned shame. Have Christmas when she can get over and I mean go the whole hog. Crackers, tree, tinsel. There's no law says you have to celebrate on 25th Dec ( I know cos I'm married to a lawyer).

Bugger about the hip, Molly. Mr. JC's going to have to have his other one done in the next couple of years.

The pain is just in my right shoulder and neck now.

We did our Christmas present shopping last night. Just little daft stuff from Prezzy Box and Not on the High Street. Luckily my sister in law buys for her two and we just give her the cash and we just write the gift tag. We hide their cheque in one of their daft gifts.


@rustop59..................I've had two cataracts removed this year. Although I was scared it was all done and dusted in 10 minutes. The worst bit is putting the eye guard on when its bed time. It wasn't the actual operation that hurt.....................it was the tape that you have to hold it in place. Its feels more than 100 times stronger that sellotape.

Biggest news of the day.................My Aunt is going to the USA to see her son and family. She'll be there a month. Luckily her 20 year old grandson fiddled and faddled with her phone as all the visas, tickets etc are done on a mobile phone.

Rusty it is the return to Norway that is the problem. She would have to quarantine in her flat on her own for maybe 10 days, as she works in an operating theatre. She was coming next week until January.I was so selfishly thinking just of me and the company in the house each evening. I will just have to get on with it and think of how lucky I am not to be alone without family and friends ( and you lot)

Aww Brit that is disappointing. But as Molls says it only a day - a pain in the arse day when there are no kids around.
If my bloody house wasn't full to the rafters with wannabe Germans, inlaws, outlaws and alkies you could come here.

Good evening all.. not a lot of news here -- Joe is really suffering the after affects of the booster vaccine -- tempted to think it's a manflu phenomena -- but when I said to him this morning 'argh you'll be grand' -- he rather forlornly said 'last time you told me that I nearly died' --- so kept my mouth shut when I got in from work and was nursie ;-) thankfully himself AND the poxy dog are in bed so I've the tele and the sitting room to myself!!

Oh Tecchie........................that's just made me snort laughing.

There's a bed here for you our Whizzy. We always over buy Christmas food. Tbh by the time we sit down to eat I'm not hungry. I always get 12 mince pies and I'm the only one that likes them and Mr. JC is stilling cracking nuts in August.

Started re-watching Vikings and Mr. JC is hooked. We'd have might have managed three episodes if Mr JC. hadn't kept pausing it when he thought he'd seen a character in something else and of course out come the phone to check if he's right.

Going out for coffee with SIL. this aftie. I suppose I'd better get dressed.
