    Re: Army Thread SEPTEMBER 2022

Hola Army. Very excited about Greece. On the back end we’ll be in London. Actually the suburb, Richmond. Lots of business to be discussed and hopefully moved forward. The downside is not being in Athens and able to meet up with Girly. Perhaps next trip. Blessings x.

Probable best to leave with sone humor…

Good morning LC and all to come

How do you feel about going home LC? Remember you having some doubts about the trip some time ago. Keep checking in, a few of us still around. On the plus side it is a break from work.

We will all be trying to cut energy costs this winter but it will be challenging for those of us with daughters in the house. Iím after hearing mine in the shower and she spent the equivalent time of what I and hubby combined would spend in the shower!

Raining here this morning so donít know if Iíll get walk. Was meant to be going to the Ploughing championship (largest agricultural show in the country but has everything) but the people we were going with had to pull out. Just as pleased in this weather.

    Morning,
@lifechange......... Its just knitting, crochet or embroidery and us yapping. We've even got a man learning to knit.

Another quickie as I'm meeting a friend for coffee. Haven't seen him since before covid hit.

Its vile outside but its just a 2 minute walk to the bus stop.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

2 neighbours on the road came home with trophies from the ploughing championships yesterday, don't ask me what for, all delighted here. I've never been, I must try to get there one year. SIL was there today, total washout.
@lifechange, kids are 18, 16 and 13. Eldest is a boy who's totally clueless about what he wants to do next year.
The youngest has a 20 year plan. Yours are similar right?
Berlin marathon is a big one too, we usually have a couple from our club there. Dublin is not until the end of oct.

Agree Rustop, girls are a disaster in the shower- Omg, the arguments here..

Thats so hot LC! Loads of rain here today too @JackieClaire. It was a bit of a shock!

    Enjoy techie!

    Re: Army Thread SEPTEMBER 2022

I was drenched even though the bus stop is only 2 minutes away.
Had a bitter sweet meeting with my mate. His daughter is pregnant with twins but sadly one of them has died. She was seeing a specialist to see if they can save the other twin. While we were together he kept looking at his phone to see if there was any news.
Our Jenny has two degrees..................one in chemistry & physics and one in teaching...........guess what she teaches.............yep chemistry and physics. The S&H got a degree in geography and ended working for a string off booze licences.............he did make it to manager. He's now a tax man. He did do a stint as an assistant manager at a supermarket but hated it. Well he didn't hate it but he loathed the manager.
Little Alfie is taking his mum and dad to Centre Parcs for a long weekend. Just got a photo from my DIL of the car packed and with all Alfie's stuff my daughter in law has about enough room for 3 pairs of clean knickers.

Getting my fourth jab tomorrow.......such fun.

    Afternoon everyone

Just a quick check in. Drove west this morning and am now getting ready to start painting again! At least the weather has improved. Last fishing competition of the season so himself will be awol.

My cousin was in Centre Parcs last week (we have one of them in Ireland) with her son and DIL and the two boys. She really enjoyed it.

Waves to everyone. Looking forward to hearing the holiday stories when the ladies return. Bon voyage LC and Starty.

    Re: Army Thread SEPTEMBER 2022

    Afternoon everyone

Good to hear from you Molly and delighted that you are having such a good time. You are a great advertisement for retirement. Been a bit of rain but here in Mayo at the moment and it is beautiful. Just took the doggies along the lakeshore. They had a walk this morning but they guilted me into it as they were locked up when I went shopping.

Going out for dinner this evening with the fishing guys so better make a move.
