Good evening ladies. Just wanted to say how easy it is to forget sometimes what a safe place this is to come and an important part of the fabric of keeping our valuable sobriety. It’s just sometimes I need reminding because I don’t post very often these days as I don’t feel I have very much to say but I shouldn’t let that stop me. That’s all.

Tabbers great to see your posts. Sure none of us have really much to say - we know each other well now - so apart from the odd crisis - it's just a general catch up with friends who once were deep trouble with alcohol.
Who's to say what the future is but this is a the place to share stuff we may not share elsewhere & get advice.

Welcome back Molly and Satz. Glad you both had fab holidays. Good to see you Tabs. Satz just summed it up and as we said to LC a while ago there is no judgement here as we have all been there.

Not a very nice morning here but walk done. We have been putting down log fires for a few weeks now but have not turned on the heat yet.

Morning all! Just this min back from a wonderful holiday! Best one for years and years with 0 pills! Had such a good time and did lots of fantastic walks. I feel so proud of myself and confident that I am generally feeling better mentally than I have for years.

Great to hear that you had a blast too Molls and Satz.

Lovely to see you tabbers. I agree its hard to check in sometimes especially when we feel we have little to contribute. However, It is important to know this place is always here. Comforting somehow.

Jaysus we're all back! Starty ...million congrats doing the hol with no 'help'...because its a different substance to what we used doesn't mean it's any easier so kudos to you!
Just planted up a heap of seeds and bulbs and the divil and all...loving my polytunnel but it's very big and a bit daunting at the moment but I'll get there! Anyone any ideas for a MOUNTAIN of hard as rock pears that'll NEVER ripen now I'm sure? Not even a big fan of pears...inherited 2 trees of them

I love hard pears. Are they sweet tasting? Can you put them in a pie or summit? Blackberry and pear instead of apple?

No...when I say rock hard I mean raw potatoes rock hard and about as sweet!

@satz123.................Welcome home. So glad the Germans came to your rescue.
Had to flee early doors to go to the hairdressers, get my eyebrows done and do the big shop.............bigger than usual as we're off to country cottage in the wilds of North Yorkshire next week. The 'local' shops are miles away.

@starty..........well done you. I like pears more than apples. I was thinking can you make chutney out of them.

There's something wrong with the TV, it just goes blank............not just ours......something to do with the transmitters.

Not mad on chutney either...but yeah might look into that...have millions of green tomatoes too
Have let my hair go grey a few years now...in fact been grey since my teens...but looking at 'styles' around the beach and pool...just feel I want to liven it up a bit...tempted to get a few discreet little lowlights...anyone gone grey/white and put a bit of interest into it?

Go for it !!
I'm grey as a badger Molls underneath - I swore I'd never never give in & go grey.
But my mother during Covid went from dyed hair to allow the grey to grow & has now a lovely shiny bob.

I'm really happy with the grey..wouldn't go back to roots for love or money..just thought a few highlights but afraid of those brassy colours...need a subtle little variation!
