Enjoy the trip @techie, it sounds v interesting. I am way less cynical that I used to be, there's a lot of untapped alternatives out there that we don't know about yet. Tell us all about it when your back!
Hey tabbers, how are things with you??
How did the marathon go with your daughter @rustop59? It's great craic.
Ghealtacht daughter having a ball. It's only 2 weeks, so we won't be visiting. They get their phones for 15 mins every night so I get a chat in.
She said the water was like paradise! Achill island. Isn't everywhere stunning in this weather!
Nothing like visitors to get jobs done Rustop (in the absence of a communion).
Molly, have you recovered from the wedding? And your mad week?
Work in the morning, night all x

Great day yesterday.
Gym at 7am. Then home & packed up MrS,YS, Rosie & picnic.
We drove to Wicklow and hiked down to Lough Dan - Fabulous.
Fish supper on the way home.
Sounds like the perfect day Satz. That?s a beautiful place and made more so by the fact that you have up hike down to it. Everywhere around here was chockablock so stayed in the garden. Very hot for the mini marathon Mary and she was with a group so didn?t run/run but they did it in about an hour and went out for a meal after.
Back at work today and it is only mental. So glad I?m only here for one day! I should not complain.
That place is lovely...used to go there a lot when we lived other side
Happy enough with Lough Mask ;-)
Finally all the family gone back home...loved having them down...but as they didn't come at the same time it went in for a while ...only overlapped for 2 days.
Not cooking tonight...not for love or money...hate restaurants at bank Holidays so avoided like the plague
Going to Dublin for the week next week...then off to Kerry!!!
Hopefully we can manage to get Max into the car by then...changed it last week and he is NOT impressed....any ideas all you dog people?

Max won't get into the new car I'm no dog person, I suppose youve tried to put in a treat or a toy?
Lough Dan is fabulous, love those pics Satz. I take it YS is doing OK?
Mini marathon was very warm, well done to your dd Rustop. An hour is doing well, it's an impossible race to run hard in anyway.. everyone's out for the craic.
Leaving cert tomorrow. Quite house here with the yapper gone..
Busy day so I'll sign off....

Your BH weeks all sound like fun along with your good weather. Our weather has been so dull and chilly. Heating on again yesterday!!
Molls where in the car does he sit? Back seat or boot? Is there a lip for him to jump over if it is the boot? What is different about this car to the previous one? Is it higher etc? Once you have figured out the bit upsetting him you can put together a plan for working with him to get him comfy. Is he food oriented? If so maybe use that as a motivator to get him eating near the car or in it. It depends what is stopping him. Does he need steps or a ramp ? Or is it just the smell of new stuff that puts him off?
Bit cloudier here this morning. Getting the patio power washed and the windows all cleaned. Can?t wait. Also carpet and rug cleaned. Same fella does everything.
Is Max getting into car differently? Our big fella just jumps in the door of my car and lies in the boot. I keep the seats down and have all covered, otherwise seats would be ruined. In daughters jeep he is made get in the boot (a big one) via the back and he hates it, terrified, has to be lifted in. Think he is afraid of the boot door coming down on him.
Walk at 8 and then will try and get a few things done in house while all this other work is going on. Hope leaving cert goes well Mary
Feck sake --- sent a post a while ago -- big long one --- and there it is....gone!
Anyway -- thanks for all the sage words -- the car is the complete opposite of d'other one --- it was really low this one is like driving a bus ffs.... and it's a hatchback and the other was a saloon -- we had been trying to tempt him in via the boot with treats but he was having none of it -- obviously the top of the boot is off so it's plenty comfy -- but anyway -- he folded down the back seats this morning and let him in via the door --- cos we really weren't expecting him to get in we hadn't put in the bed or anything so it wasn't very comfortable but he got in - and stayed in -- and Joe brought him for a wee drive --- and he was ok --- glad to get out -- but I think that is the way to go alright... won't push it for a few days - just put his bed in in the boot part (cos that's where his seat belt is) and do little drives up and down the lane --- the urgency is to get him used to it before Kerry near the end of the month.
He is VERY food orientated Starty - but we reckon he's also OCD cos we've never given him food in the car --- the odd time he'd be offered a little treat he won't touch it! And he normally LOVES the car --- he stood at the old one if we so much as put a jacket on wanting an outing so hopefully we've broken through --- Christ he's more trouble than half a dozen babies!"!!!!
Best of luck with the exams Mary --- I found once they'd started the panic stopped (not that there was any panic with the lads - the panic was all mine with them!!)
Another glorious day here - so out to the garden -- my daughter is driving me NUTS about her garden --- I think she thinks I should have HERS like a Chelsea garden --- on Monday she loves blue flowers -- on Tues she hates them --- on Wed she loves trees --- on Thurs trees are way too big she wants climbers..... so of course -- being a caring mum I've already bought the ones she no longer likes ---- jaysus she can feck off --- I'm going up to mind Tills and the garden on Monday so if she doesn't like something she can deal with it herself!!!
Right --- laters lads xxxx

Evening folks, not a lot unusual happening in my world at the moment, nice and peaceful, just the way I like it these days. Almost two months into my new part time job and settling in well I feel. It?s busy enough every day but time to go home comes around quickly. Tbh not sure I could do a 40 hour plus week any more, just don?t have the stamina these days. Enjoying the Irish summer last couple of weeks, could get used to this warmth.
