    Re: Newbies Nest

    Happy Un Hung Friday everyone.

It is a beautiful day here today and it is going up to +12C (54F) which is really nice for October. Our weather has been nuts this year but we will take the warm weather when we can get it.

G- you are an International man of mystery as Pav says. Hope you enjoy your time with your Turkish chika. I went to Turkey a few years ago and it was Amazing, I would go back in a heartbeat.

My work life did not get better after quitting drinking because the economy got worse, lol. Its ok, one of these days I will get a job. In the meantime I am enjoying my life as much as I can.

    Hey don't drink today!

    Re: Newbies Nest

    Happy Friday, Nesters!
G, you have such an infectious attitude Maybe you could be our president? I was thinking that both candidates this time are not drinkers. Clinton didnít drink either. Bush was a recovering alcoholic. I never thought about it before, but AL really has no place in that job! It really has no place in any job. I too, did much better in my job having quit. Like Pav and Wags, Iím hopeful one minute and full of dread the next about our election next week. If nothing else, Iíll be so glad to lose the political ads. At this pace, itís bordering on abuse! Can you imagine the money spent? I canít recall ever having changed my mind as result of an ad, either. Good thing Iím not in politics.

NS, my heart is breaking for you. Itís hard to describe the guilt and sorrow we have when we lose our pets. It sucks bad. There are just no words. Please know we are thinking of you.
Kens (Special K), I know that whatever you do will be a smashing success! New carpet is exciting. I want new paint in my old office. Every time I go in there now, I have PTSD. I need to get rid of those old memories. Once this virus is over, Iíll look to do that. Itís a tiny 3rd bedroom, it would be easy to remake. I have to float the idea past headquarters and somehow make him think it was his idea. Ha!

Itís only Friday, not a ticket to BoozeVille! Byrdie

    Re: Newbies Nest

    Good evening Nesters,

I just heard it’s going below freezing tonight, oh boy. It’s going to be cold tomorrow standing outside for 5 hours at the craft show, oh well. I’ll just layer up then peel as it gets warmer, haha!

    NS, thinking about you today

Anjicia, I live in Pennsylvania & not far from Lancaster. Funny you found those videos. My husband watches all sorts of homemade videos about homesteading, living off the land, self-sufficiency & all that

Walktothe water, I think you & Anjicia are both in Dublin? Exchange messages, maybe you can meet up for coffee at some point.

Byrdie, you don’t need that home office any more so what are your plans for the space? Cake storage maybe??? Lol

Hello to G, Pauly, Wags, Narilly, Pav, Kensho & everyone.
Wishing a safe night in the nest for all. Wish me luck tomorrow

Hello Folks. Just popping in for a quick Hello. So nice to read posts from some familiar faces. I’m just in awe of the folks before me who still take the time to help a newbie. As for me, I think I missed my soberversary this year. I’m thinking it’s 7 years now. If I can do it so can you. I was a good bottle a day drunk (vodka, not because I liked it but because I thought I could hide it). To my American Friends Vote, your life may depend upon it.

    Re: Newbies Nest

    Good Morning, Nest:

TJAF - good to see you. Congratulations on 7 years sober - that is an amazing milestone. I always have a mini celebration for my year anniversaries - it means a lot to me. I hope you take time to appreciate yourself and give yourself some love for that accomplishment.

Byrdie - catch headquarters when busy doing something else. Maybe clearing out the bad mojo in that office is just what you need for the pandemic! It will give you a project AND a fresh start. Interesting take on alcohol. Could you imagine drinking and doing that job?? It already is too much job for one person.

Hope all is ok Walk and Anj - it WOULD be cool if you hook up.

Stay warm, Lav - lots of tea and layers seems about right.

Always sending good vibes for a job, Nar. I hope something comes soon. It is such a terrible economic time.

Happy Sober Saturday. I've done my morning yoga and off on a hike. I do love the weekend!

    Pav

Pav, catch headquarters when busy doing something else! Bahahaha! I love you!
Had a good day. Hubs took me and the dog for a ride in the car! We got a Thai take out and came home and devoured it. Followed it up with cake and Halloween candy. Went into a food coma.
We didn’t have any trick or treaters. Bummer. I’ll have to address that candy, too.
Hope everyone is having a safe and happy Halloween! Byrdie

    Re: Newbies Nest

Byrdie - OMG Thai food sounds amazing - now I'm having a craving! Glad you had such a fantastic day.

Pav - I'm jealous of your hike today. We wanted to go hiking but instead took care of several projects around the house and I met with two students for tutoring, so a good day all around. Do you have favorite hikes you do with some frequency, or do you prefer to try new ones as much as you can?

TJAF - great to see you, and congrats on the 7 years!!!

Lav - congrats on good sales at the craft fair. How was attendance? Are people still doing masks and social distancing in your area? We are here, which I appreciate, and I have a feeling things will lock down tighter again.

LC - are you still around? I don't think I've seen many posts from you lately but maybe I've just missed them. Thinking of you.

Hellos and waves to all. Enjoy the extra hour of sleep if you live someplace that is coming off Daylight Saving Time.
