    Re: Newbies Nest

    Good evening all,

Still not too many checking in, hope that changes soon
Even after all this time I still find it helpful to check in daily. I don’t ever want to forget how I got here in the first place, if you know what i mean.

Pav, file the dream in the ‘lesson learned’ file. I consider them little gifts from the universe, honestly.
I am amazed at how well these Amish folks conduct business. They have no high school or business college backgrounds. They have cell phones (for business use only) & they advertise in local Amish newspapers. Some of them are millionaires, no kidding. They buy their farms for cash & that’s a lot of money. They set their kids up in businesses & buy them farms, no loans. You have to admire their tenacity.

Kensho, I just realized daylight savings time is March 14 so we will have. Plenty of light soon, something we all need badly
I hope you can stick with bland, low fat diet for a while & see if your symptoms ease up.
About the masks, yes we need to wear them but hand washing, especially when returning home is vital. Most people don’t realize the mask you wore outside of home today should be considered contaminated & either be thrown out (if disposable) or washed immediately.

Hello to the rest of the nest & wishing everyone a safe night!

    Re: Newbies Nest

Congratulations, Rahul. You were so eager to learn and willing to take advice. I think enthusiasm and humility are 2 of the keys to success!

We've had a couple of sunny, almost spring-like days. It really helps my mood! Almost as much as not drinking does .

I hope your neck is improving, Pav. It affects everything when your neck or back is messed up.

Wags, I hope you are doing ok in spite of the many challenges landing in your lap. I think of you often

    Re: Newbies Nest

    Good Wednesday evening Nesters,

We had a sunny day above freezing, better than nothing haha!!
Still moving frozen chunks of snow off my deck & other less travelled walkways around my house, good exercise in the sun

Hi G, good to see you!
Everyone drives a truck around here except me. I’m happy in my SUV.

Pav, yeah, a clean mask everyday. Store your used mask in a plastic bag or something to avoid spreading germs around until wash day. Better to be safe

Rahul, CONGRATS to you on your 7 years AF
Life is good once we quit & it’s up to us to keep it good.

NS, Glad you’re having some decent weather, such a long winter.
I miss Wags too & many others.

Check in when you can Nesters, let us know what’s going on.
Wishing everyone a safe night in the nest!

    Re: Newbies Nest

Hello everyone, I am just on break from my job. It is really slow today and not much going on- cases are down so that is good.

We have a full moon here tonight so everything is a bit off I think. I had a really nice day though. It is beautiful outside and I was able to go for a walk with my dogs.

Rahul, congrats! I am almost 7 years AF myself.

    Take care everybody.

    Re: Newbies Nest

Good MAE all (wasn't that from you, Rahul?)

Congratulations on 7 years. Great to have you pop in from time to time. Last time you did I recall you were a little discombobulated with your wife and your sobriety? I hope all is ok now. Reading those old posts is certainly eye opening.

Ok, Lav. More caution with masks over here...

Wags, I think of you, too. I hope you are doing ok. Definitely miss you around here.

And LC and J-Vo and some others. I hope you all pop in when you need.

TGIF is all I have to say. I am REALLY ready for this weekend.

    Re: Newbies Nest

    morning nesters

A huge congratulations on your 7th sober birthday Rahul, sobriety just keeps giving.

Thank god it is saturday and i can have a relax day. the weather is cooling down here and its getting darker earlier. winter is coming but the days are still lovely.

going to visit son tomorrow and my mother. she seems to have put her narcissism in a box for the time being so it should be a lovely day. will take carl for a drive and maybe one of my children. they change their minds so often that i dont really worry about them anymore on their decisions. my son seems to be doing okay out on his own but i dont ask too many questions as i dont want to know. i took him food shopping the other day as he is broke. funny how they realise what its like living in the real world without parental support. my daughter is at her bf's a lot so that leaves a lot of ME time. i am loving it, can do what i want, potter around the house and listen to what music i love. its only taken 34 years to get some ME time lol. been buying some baby things, trying to keep myself under control for the time being.

My nieces baby gained 100gms last week so now he is a massive 1.37gms and doing really well.

Nar glad your cases are going down but i hope you keep your job for a long time yet.

How is your neck Pav. i had neck issues for a year or more last year. it seems to have settled down thank goodness but the dr recommended paracetomal for osteoarthritis, they seemed to give me a bit of relief. i tried chiro, physio, remedial and nothing worked. seemed to like it when i had my 3 weeks off at xmas though. I had bad whiplash when i was 20 so i gather that is a bit of an issue now.

glad to hear you got out the other day Lav, a 2 1/2 hour drive, was that the drive with the pics you put up? i could never drive in that sort of weather. i am so fascinated with the Amish, i think you are so lucky to live near their community.

well cup of tea time and fb looking. i post for a rescue site so need to do that over my breakfast cuppa.

    take care xxx
