Not a slip. I chose to drink.

I drank. Not much but enough to lose three days.
When I can man up and get 7 days in a row I will
Be back. I am tired of being a poor me poster.

Thanks for trying to help me stay AF.

    Rednose

See you next Friday I hope

    Hi Red,

Just keep coming back. That's all. Maybe you are not ready yet. It's taken me a long time to be ready ( see join date) But since my join date I have always had times when I didn't drink, slowly more and more regularly, slowly more and more days in between. I think for some people that's just the way it is.

    Take care, see you soon!

Agree totally with Patrice Whatever way works for you Red - keep posting though - MWO is not just for those who have mastered AF - if it was there would be no point to the site!

Rednose, we are all 'poor me' posters, me especially. More times than I can count I get a few days, mess up, get embarrassed and decide to do it alone and come back with a week or two.
Each time, without MWO, I come back and tail between legs, have to start at the beginning.
Stay, and if it doesn't stick, start again, and again, until it does......all the best you - we all understand exactly how you feel!

??? What are you going to do ? spend the next few days drunk and then come back? , i seen your thread from yesterday and most people here have had their hearts broken at some time in their life.
You have two choices get drunk , feel sorry for yourself or stop being a victim of AL.
I have had AL ruin 2 long term relationships , don't think for one min AL didn't play some part of the break up, i am now married with 2 kids and had i not stopped drinking i really think i AL would sooner or later destroyed my marriage.
When i was drinking i loved drama = reason to drink
Loved death = reason to drink
Loved happiness = reason to drink........ need i go on ?
We all had a reason to drink when we were drinking.
Right now you can't see your future , you can't see yourself one year from now sober and thinking back on this chapter of your life as the moment you reclaimed your life and started living again.
Partners come and go but AL will never leave you, it's up to you to show it the door.

even if you are drinking, read MWO...it will only strengthen your resolve to stop.

Don't you dare disappear for a week! Don't you know how much we would miss you? Yes, you come here for knowledge and support but you give it to others, too. By reading your posts I gain greater insight into my own disease. Yes, Red - we have a disease. It's called alcoholism. If you had diabetes you wouldn't be hating on yourself now would you?

If quitting was easy then MWO wouldn't be here. It's hard. It's DAMN hard. You may not be AF yet but you are on the road and you are healthier than when you first found MWO.

    So give yourself a break

    Shake it off

    Start again

Rednose. I went 100 plus days this summer and then like you I chose to drink again. Did ok for a while. But then same old patterns emerged.

Today is 2 weeks for me. I have heard people say it gets harder to quit - but I find this time I am approaching the quiting with calm resolve this time. Much more peaceful.

    Good luck with your journey.

Hi Red....kinda knew that was going to happen after your last post.

Just know that we're still here and we're still willing to help in any way we can.

I think you may have gotten enough of MWO to start screwing up your drinking.

Everytime you have a drink I bet you'll think of us. I did.

Hope it doesn't take a week for you to reach out again, but we'll be here.

    .....PPQP
