    Re: One Year!

I posted in the nest but want to keep track here too.

I called the restaurant and apologized. They asked me if I was ok. Can you believe that? They said I can come talk to the manager and bartender in person if I want to which I will. I will face them and speak to them (and pay my bar tab!) I guess I got escorted out before paying.

I remember a bit more from that night- I am pretty sure I fell in the bathroom and someone came to check on me. Then someone walked me to a more private area where the cops came and the security officer for the mall was with me. I kept crying and they all kept saying “you are not in trouble, we just want to make sure you get home safe”. That’s all I can remember.

I’ve been reading through some of my old journals and getting to know the person I used to be before I was an alcoholic. I was such a sweet and kind person! I enjoyed reading through, and remembering that I wasn’t always like this. I’m trying to be that person again who gets through tough times by writing and normal healthy activities! I was a hoot!

Well, it’s Friday and I’m off to work soon. My weekend will consist of a major deep clean of the house for Christmas and finishing up some last minute shopping and wrapping. And I’m going to do more journaling.

    Happy weekend everyone! Xoxo

    Re: One Year!

Hey there! Time for a check in!

So I stayed sober awhile after that last time. But then I didnít.

I am here to say that each trip down the rabbit hole was worse and worse. (Our minds know this, but we do not listen).

So, I checked myself into treatment on October 8th, 2020. I did 30 days inpatient rehab and it was hard and wonderful at the same time.

I have been sober since I walked into that rehab center. Iím glad I went but I never want to go back there again.

I needed rehabilitation to show me and teach me how to deal with trauma. How to deal with the emotions that normal people deal with every day. How to accept that once you are a pickle, you can never be a cucumber again. I absorbed everything I could at that rehab and will never forget what it felt like.

Nowadays, I take much better care of myself. I am healthier emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

I am sober today. 24 hours at a time.

Well done Nursie, and great to see you back!!

Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

    Re: One Year!

    Hi All
Welcome back Nursie. I along with just about everyone here didnít get sober on the first try. The difference with you is realizing there are other tools and methods to help you get sober. You also realize this is a serious problem. I didnít . I wasted a lot of time at playing with trying to get sober. The support you know you will get here along with the methods you are using will help you find your key to living a sober life

I'm sorry you got too far down that rabbit hole, and I am very glad you went to treatment and it helped. Congratulations on your resolve and 4+ months sober.

It is great to see you here. I hope you are well.
