Wooohoo, Roxanne, howd you ever find the place, we are out here in the sticks! It is a shame it is buried in here. If you didnt know to look for it, you'd surely miss it. I hope we get some organization soon. B

Hi Byrdie! I'm 3/4 of the way towards earning a seat here, and still very much want one, despite the fact that it's now in the basement.Have you considered starting a "Volume 2" of the thread on one of the upper floors? Maybe you could put a link in the opening post, back here to this original thread so its 180 pages are easily accessible. Likewise put a link here to the new location, so that folks can find you with just a click.
I think the new site is designed to be easier for newcomers, fewer choices. That puts us at the bottom. I do hope this thread inspires success, though, gives people hope at the beginning of the hard battle.
Finally found it.
Hey Pie! We are keeping a seat warm for you!
I am HOPING that the changes that RJ mentions will make the whole site more user friendly. Before taking DRASTIC measures (which adding a link is for me.....ehehehehe) waiting to see how it all shakes out. I may need your assistance in doing all that linking. Hurry up and get over here! xo
It's like a scavenger hunt, isn't it? UGG.
Glad you found the thread Cherokeer
Byrdie & I keep leaving trails of bread crumbs & bird seed everywhere we go :H :H
So long termers... Do you ever miss drinking? Do you think about it much?
I can honestly say that I don't. And I find it amazing when I go out now to notice the incredible attention and importance placed on booze. It's incredibly boring to be around drinking people. Most of my friends still drink and it's okay to go out with them if they're having one or two, but when the sole purpose of going out is to get shit faced I'm left sitting and thinking that this feels a lot like high school and I'm so over that.
I get bored during the Choosing The Wine Passion Play. Really, you'd think someone actually would die if they don't make the best possible choice! Other than that, I agree it is ok until stories start getting repeated, everyone begins interrupting one another, or the wine-driven sentimentality gets out of hand. I guess I miss not being bothered by all of that - I really don't enjoy these events all that much now and prefer if we go out for a full dinner or do an activity. I don't miss the drinking itself, thank goodness.
I live in a wine- producing with many wine trails to visit the wineries. I picked up a brochure a couple of days ago for an ice cream trail. That's something I could get into!
I miss some moments that included wine, but I definitely don't miss having it in my life. I don't want any. My life has changed; some of the changes would have occurred with or without wine. That missing wine feeling is just nostalgia. I will also never again be younger. You may wish you could go back, but you really wouldn't want to because things change.
