Sounds great TMH! I love the idea of an AF June but also the part about starting now - - why put off until tomorrow what you do today!

Had daughter's athletic awards ceremony at her school on Tuesday last week and then her softball banquet for her team on Thursday. At the school ceremony she won the best female athlete of the year - yeah! This week we have mom's birthday party Monday and then my son's high school graduation Thursday. Whew it's been busy!

I've been doing well with not drinking - I did have a glass of wine at the softball banquet. I've been pleased that my social drinking has not led to me wanting to drink at home. I was thinking yesterday when I was out and needed to grab something to eat that in the past I would certainly have gone somewhere and had a drink along with whatever I was eating - that thought didn't even sound appealing to me. Things have certainly changed. I'm sure I've said this before but I feel strongly that my extended AF time contributed significantly to this change. It allowed me to really change my habits and my body just doesn't consider getting a drink the 'go-to' activity anymore.

I'm off to watch my daughter's three softball games with her summer team today! It will be a big change from high school season where, with a few exceptions, the competition is really not that great.

    Have a great day everyone!

Whew! Long weekend over - lots of driving, lots of softball, and then lots of running around getting ready for Mom's party. The party was very nice, I'm so happy that the weather cooperated! All of mom's good friends were there. I think she enjoyed it a lot. I am not feeling great, but I only had two glasses of wine, so I'm not sure if that's why or if it's something else. If it's the wine, then this is a sure way to keep me away from it - it's not worth feeling like this! Seems weird that it would be the wine but maybe it was?

Hope everyone had a great weekend. June 1st starts tomorrow

Hi - glad your Mom enjoyed her party. We had our golf tourney & I played much better. Not so much today. Know I'm nervous about this home loan and sure enough I check my Iphone in the locker room and find out something else they now need.
We are 2 weeks away from closing date AND going to Canada week after that. And we are not cleared yet.
Told dh I am considering an AF June. He said no way is he. #1 going to have a new home with a big lanai and he wants to sit on it and have a drink! #2. Going to Canada where my ex and his wife will be and not drink? LOL. That still did not convince me not to but today's extra To Do list for the loan may make me think he's right! I
Don't know if any of you have gone through this recently, but it is a nightmare.
Today is our anniversary. Going to make my husband's favorite dinner & can't find my meatloaf recipe. Found one on internet & have the topping we like so much memorized so will ad lib.
Possible season renters want pics of our condo. Need to tidy up the Master Bath and think I'm ready to send some. So better get moving.

Hi, just a quick jump in to let you know about Addy. She's posting on We Quit Drinking and will celebrate her 11 month AF milestone on the 16th. Now, back to the regularly scheduled programming...lol

Well, thanks cowboy for Addy update. I'm happy to hear she is doing well.

Here we are June 1. After vascillating between AF and forgetting it I have decided today is Day 1. My count will be how many AF days I have in June. I have an extra calendar by my desk and am looking forward to seeing large "X" many times.

Enough about me. AG, how is it going? Want to join me? Doing it your way, of course. Frances, thank you for your good influence. Know you attribute your success to a long AF stint. Sorry, I have forgotten if I ever knew. How long? Blue, how are you? We miss you here.

    Make today a great day!

Hi TMH! I was AF today so that is a start. If I do have a drink, I am committed to taking the Nal an hour before . . . that is my plan for this month. I will also join you in keeping a log.

TMH, I can't believe how much you have going on. We haven't moved in quite some time so you forget all the stress and paperwork. Hang in there, it will all happen eventually.

Frances, I'm so glad your mom's party went well. You worked really hard on that!!

    Take care - AG

Success! Had an AF Wednesday. It wasn't hard, but first day so......Coffee tasted wonderful this a.m. Was up a lot during night and this was after 2 Benadryl and 2 advil. Read in Golf Digest that if you have allergies you should take Benadryl the night before playing. It did help. Never used my inhaler once and never had a coughing spell.

After having 4 more "To Do's" for our loan we are down to 1. That is dependent upon receiving a Fed Ex pkg, should arrive either today or tomorrow. And then, of course, it depends on if they decide they want to have my firstborn or whatever. Good news is the latest person assigned to us told us things are looking good, and if we get everything done by 6/8 we will close on 6/14. And then, of course, I'm chomping at the bit to move; dh not so much. Feels we can take our time. Say what?

Good job, AG! It is a nice feeling to feel good, and I'm not talking about compared to being hungover, just the increased lack of energy even after 2. That is what I was getting tired of feeling.

Going to rest for a bit as it was 90 deg on golf course today. Then need to get in some more steps and it's ok if that is just around the house. Only have 7K though.
