    MAE ALL...

Lav...I hope it's not a hurricane preview. We are moving to below zero highs next week with some snow/rain. I find this the dangerous driving time, it's better if it's colder with snow or warmer with rain but the mix can be deceiving. Another putzing day for you?

Mick...nice finds compared to last outing, I love the little axe. I like miniature things and would have them everywhere if I didn't have to dust around them. Apologies to those who know this but want to catch Mick up. Had the talk with the boss on Wednesday, first day back from being sick, but it went really well. Among other things told him I feel I'm being taken advantage of, the increase in my workload since his arrival and the lack of financial compensation for what he's getting. He agreed and we are working on job responsibilities, what I should keep on my plate and what I should give away. He then asked me how much money I wanted and I asked for a $10K raise, retroactive to January. He wasn't shocked although he said it might be a little steep but we shall see. He's already had the budget approved so he's already crunched his numbers. Should find out by the end of the month.

Pauly...thanks and I'm sorry the food was not up to standard for you. You didn't need the calories anyways. LOL

I'm a big NCIS fan and the premiere I watched had the psychologist say "Worry’s a bully, it gives you nothing, it only takes." That really had an effect on me. Every time I start worrying about the future, money, work etc. that line comes to me and I stop. It's almost liberating. LOL

Today is turkey/chicken day, reminds me of Turducken but I'm never going to try that! Love the way the house smells all day, keeps your mouth watering. Other than kitchen duty will just be putzing around like Lav. Have a great day all.....PPQP

    Good evening Abbers,

Just checking in after another day of mostly putzing, ha ha!!
We had lots of rain overnight that actually brought down a dead branch in a tree out front. That will save YB the work of having to take the thing down himself, ha ha!
Lost power for just a few minutes this afternoon & the rain seems to be moving on.

Mick, that's a very cool looking mini axe! Can't wait to hear the official determination.
Ornamental kale is neat looking, I should get some myself - good idea

Pauly, I suggest leaving the disinterested ones home next time & brown bagging your own food. LOL!!!!
I hope you stay healthy, take your probiotics girl

PQ, the storm is leaving so I am happy. I agree with you, I don't like the roads when they get icy. People around here don't know how to drive in rain let alone ice
I hope your chick-urkey turned out nice for you & your family, Happy Thanksgiving

I made an unusual Golumpki (Stuffed Cabbage) soup today, pretty good!
Since I'm only feeding two people these days making a whole pot full of stuffed cabbage seems like too much work & too much food so the soup idea worked well. Just something different anyway.

    Have a nice night everyone!

Mick, that ornament is indeed fascinating. Love to hear what the museum has to say.

Pauly, sorry for the crappy food adventure. icky!

Lav, do tell about the golumpki. sounds Indian?

felt really darn good today, did a little overtime and could have kept going but others had to go. puny humans! LOL

As a very odd treat i'm making homemade pizza in my little toaster oven. we'll see how this goes.... but it smells amazing so far.
also a couple days ago I made an eggplant/onion/tomato bake that was super yummy. Didn't even bother with the meat on that one.

Off to check pizza and hit the scifi for a wind-down.

    gnight loves

These were posted on an Australian Tourism Website and the answers are the actual responses by the website officials, who obviously have a great sense of humour.
Q: Does it ever get windy in Australia ? I have never seen it rain on TV, how do the plants grow? ( UK )
A: We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around watching them die

Q: Will I be able to see kangaroos in the street? ( USA )
A: Depends how much you’ve been drinking.

Q: I want to walk from Perth to Sydney – can I follow the railroad tracks? ( Sweden)

Q: Are there any ATMs (cash machines) in Australia ? Can you send me a list of them in Brisbane , Cairns, Townsville and Hervey Bay ? ( UK)
A: What did your last slave die of?

Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Australia ? ( USA )
A: A-Fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe . Aus-tra-lia is that big island in the middle of the Pacific which does not … Oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Kings Cross.

Q: Which direction is North in Australia ? ( USA )
A: Face south and then turn 180 degrees. Contact us when you get here and we’ll send the rest of the directions.

A: Rattlesnakes live in A-meri-ca which is where YOU come from. All Australian snakes are perfectly harmless, can be safely handled and > make good pets.

Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Australia , but I forget its name. It’s a kind of bear and lives in trees. ( USA )
A: It’s called a Drop Bear. They are so called because they drop out of Gum trees and eat the brains of anyone walking underneath them.

    Re: w/c 8th

    morning all,
well the reset feature for passwords does not work for me. Tried for several weeks (I lost mine, AGAIN!) so I emailed the powers that be and they actually were very quick to respond. So now I've got some catching up to do. Surveying work has really picked up. I often think of quitting the Soil & Water job and going back full time, but Doofus T in office, I'm not sure where things are headed. Then there's thoughts of RETIREMENT! but that can't happen for another couple years. Enough of all that....

how's everyone been doing?? Det, muzac? Lav, chicken world? Pauly, food fight? PQ, SNOW???

    later...

    MAE ALL...

Lav...the storm bringing down a dead branch saving YB the trouble tweaked a thought. I think Mother Nature is pissed at Donald Trump.

Det...how'd the pizza turn out? From your descriptions everything you make sounds yummy. Isn't it great to have a great day!

Mick...hope you're not dashing out in a downpour.

Sam...good to see you. Same thing with password for me and I was pleasantly surprised at the quick response. Think you need to give a lot of thought to quitting the soil & water job, I remember when you were looking for work.

Pauly...the snow actually held off. Temps around freezing and wicked storm clouds overhead. Det could have got some great shots. Forecast is for it to start snowing tomorrow and continue throughout the week. Of course, I have to appointments to keep this week.

Had a very relaxing weekend. With not having to deal with MIL we just stayed around the house all weekend. Thanksgiving dinner was ace with very little effort. Feeling rested, relaxed and positive for the start of the week. Haven't felt that way in awhile. Have a Terrific Tuesday all....PPQP

    Good evening Abbers!

Det, can yo really get a toaster oven hot enough to bake a pizza? How did it turn out?
I either set my oven as hot as it gets or fire up the grill (which does pizza very nicely)
The golumpki is POLISH, for sure. Here's the soup I made: Golumpki Stuffed Cabbage Soup Recipe ● A Must Try! ● By Platter Talk
Makes a ton if you load it up with cabbage like I did, yum.

Mick. what are you up to today Mr. Busy?

Sam, glad to see you back!
Nice that your surveying business is doing so well. How can we possibly know what to expect in the near future with #45 yanking our strings?

Pauly, snow is cozy until you have to scrape off of your car, sidewalks & driveway, ha ha!!

PQ, good to hear that your holiday was peaceful & tasty too!
I think #45 is responsible for all the hurricanes & wildfires destroying property & taking live in the US - you may be on to something!

I had a nice day out with my daughter today, just the two of us! Shopping & lunch, what more do you need?
    Have a nice night everyone!

    Mick, awesome funnies.

toaster-oven pizza was great! nice and simple traditional Italian style.

hiya Lav....shopping and ;lunch ...simplicity in itself ...glad you enjoyedit ...well now you know what Im up to ...trouble is ..Ive just burnt my my belt sander out ...so is got to be done by hand until I get another one..I was also thinking ..Ive got my fruit bushes in the garden in pots ..what I then did is sink the pots into the raised beds ...but they did nish nada..then I got to thinking when it rains the rain floods the ground, but it also doesnt allow the pots to drain off..so head scratching time again the only reason I dont want to put them straight into the ground ..to stop them spreading..anyway brew time.still cant download pics for some reason ..keeps coming up with an error message.

hi Sam the man...hows you then?all good matey? Interesting about retirement..I went at 54....and you go through a whole myriad of thotz...the build up is great ...euphoria ,etc...but when it happens ,the thoughts then come the other ..like life is over ,blah blah fear,apprehension.....its actually another door opening thats all..I have never been so busy ...and the thing is ..if I want to do something I will..I dont have to be politically correct, play the party game all that .....

right good people ..have a nice day...yall

Accordion to a recent survey, 95% of people won't notice if you replace a word with a musical instrument.

Like most people, I like to do something a little different at the weekend. On Saturdays I become Jewish, because that's their day of rest. On Sundays I become Christian, because that's their day of rest. Then for the remainder of the week, I go back to being a Scouser.

Can someone tell me who played Forrest Gump?
