    Re: May Movers & Shakers

    Greetings friends,

I managed to fill up another day just doing odds & ends! I did get my hair cut, the helmet head vs the frizz head war was just getting to be too much, haha!

Star, you certainly did have a busy Sunday & got lots done, nice.
Well, last night was another crappy night's sleep - no reason. I am determined not to let this get me down. At least it's not hot & humid which would make it all worse.
Determination is what we need to succeed in our most important endeavors. Quitting drinking, quitting smoking, quitting bad food - all that stuff is possible when we are truly determined. You have that determination now & you will keep it forever. You have convinced & proven to yourself that you have the ability & it's the right thing for you! That is awesome

Cyn, to tell you the truth I don't put all of my screens in either, just the important ones. When it gets hot around here it gets super humid too so I rely on the AC. That's just the way it has to be with me.
Did you have anyone look at your foot or have it xrayed? You could have a tiny fracture causing the continued pain. I hope not for your sake. I guess you aren't able to take any Motrin at night? I hope you're OK.

Pauly, I was thinking this morning - I always had PMS issues (lucky me) but it was at it's worst at the end, seriously. It's all kind of confusing when you're going thru the process, boy do I remember that Keep searching for the best thing to relieve whatever symptoms you're dealing with at the moment. That's really all you can do.

SK, hoping you are OK today!

Speaking of succulents - I am in the process of wrapping 3 flats (96 plants in 2" pots) for the girl scout mother's day brunch on Saturday. My daughter has so much om her plate & I have the time so.....
    Have a nice night everyone!

    Re: May Movers & Shakers

    Morning all --

Lav, ha Happy Mother's Day! You are a great mother to wrap all those plants, sheesh! I do have to put all the screens in eventually... no AC here, so we depend on them big time. And they really did not situate the house for the summer breezes, so I have quite the collection of fans... and my notes to the dog sitter on how to survive in the heat are pretty funny: open this first, then close this before you leave, etc.
I'm so sorry that you are having sleep problems, shoot! Just when things were looking up... I hope that turns around. Yes, I probably should have the foot looked at... it was a little better this morning...

Pauly, we are seekers, right? And we know that there is something better out there, we just have to work it... give up the right things, embrace the right things. Practice, practice.... you keep searching!

Star, glad things are chugging along for you - how is your son doing? Hope he feelsbetter. Did you say you bought a clematis? I have always wanted one... I will pass a great nursery on my way to the docs today... I may invest in a plant.

SK, how is it going for you? I wish you could tell Peggy to sleep in a little! With my girl dog, that was not a possibility, but my boy is pretty happy to sleep as long as I want. Though with these long daysof sunshine he wants to get up at 5:30, I convince him to wait until at least 6!

I got a breast ultrasound re-test in yesterday... I made the time, and the clinic had an opening... I wanted to get it confirmed that all was fine with a suspicious spot they found 6 months ago... and yes all is well. So I drove for 2.5 hour RT to have a 1 minute test! The bonus was that someone mentioned that there was a Trader Joe's close by... it was only 6 minutes away! Wow, that rocked my world, I have not been in a TJ's for years... there was not much that I could have, but I stocked up on nuts, got a big papaya, and didn't buy any flowers... too many to choose from!

Sending good vibes out to all --

"I have faith in myself". That's a big one, isn't it? Say it loud and say it proud...

    Re: May Movers & Shakers

    Greetings friends,

Glad to have had another nice day in the neighborhood
I picked up my grandsons at 1:45 & had them here until just after 7. Half days of school are hard on working parents....I remember!
The oldest was extremely talkative today & I am fairly good at listening for clues Sounds like nothing much has changed with their mother.

Star, I actually did sleep a bit better last night, hope this is the beginning of a change. I was really starting to wonder what was going on, haha!
Hope you had a great day.

Cyn, I am so completely heat intolerant I would not survive a summer without AC. I have always been this way & all these years of producing my own heat - UGH.
Glad you got a clear US report, it's not good to have that worry hanging over your head. I love being about to stop in TJ's when I go visit my daughter. There's absolutely nothing like it around here.
Take care of that ankle/foot - you need it for a long time.

Pauly, hello to you & hope your day was good.

    SK, same to you!

Have a nice night one & all!

    Re: May Movers & Shakers

    Good morning...

Today exercise and yard work, looking forward to being outside, although we are in for severe storms later in the day. I have not had time to buy flowers, hope that happens today.

Lav, nice you had the boys, what fun. Great you slept better, I am the same way, I never know, I just keep that CD by my bed to listen to if I wake up at 3 am. I know you were wishing you had the exercise place, and I wondered if you had a library within reasonable driving distance. I joined a Mystery Book Club and it is fun, about 20 ladies and I am getting to know them. We are having a pot luck next month and that will be fun. Another way to meet great people in a AF environment.

Cyn, it is already pretty hot here, we require air conditioning this far south. High 80s and muggy this weekend already. Thanks for asking about my son who is not doing so well. He is still working out of town so that is good, but he went to a doc in the box yesterday, double ear infection and he is very sick. He has an interview on Friday in our city, so hope he can make it and present himself well what with the dizziness and infection. He gets no time off in the current job, it is just so ridiculous, along with the discrimination he has experienced. He needs some miracles and things turning around. Very discouraged by the elections, some really conservative a**holes were elected in the primary in this state, I am disgusted. I voted but apparently it was not enough. Hope your- ankle is better. A lady I exercise with fell in class and walked around in pain for three weeks before she was ex-rayed. She had a break in her ankle. If it keeps hurting, maybe it would be helpful to check it out. Again, I am terrified of falling, no good comes of it.

Pauly, what is going on in your world? I am really grateful for the warmer weather here, winter lasted too long for me.

Skendall, let us know how you are doing.

Have a great AF Hump Day.

    Re: May Movers & Shakers

Happy Hump day evening & trash day here, ha ha!

Nice weather today so I got outside & planted more flowers, yay! I have many pots of basil that YB started for me in the greenhouse. I can't possibly use all of them so I'll have to find them good homes or start a basil farm, ha ha. I finished wrapping the 96 succulents pots in shades of pink tissue paper & raffia ties. My daughter is driving out tomorrow after work to pick them up plus several things she's borrowing for the luncheon.
Tomorrow may turn stormy here too & the weekend is supposed to be 80-90 degrees! Hot for me!!!

Star, there is a library up where my son & his family live. I really have only been there once or twice & am not sure what they offer. I will look on their website & check it out. Sometimes I really need a kick in the a$$ to be more social. Enjoy your new book club, sounds nice
Sorry your son is sick with something he seems to get frequently. Unfortunately that's the nature of sinus infections. I went through a phase in my life where I had one after another then they stopped!! Just like that!! Is there anyway he could reschedule the interview?

Pauly. I have no patience for car problems. I hope yours gets foxed soon!

Cyn, I hope you are enjoying this cooler air while it lasts. Hot weekend coming up.

SK, thinking of you & hope you are OK.

Have a nice night everyone & let's hope the sleep fairy graces us with a visit!

    Re: May Movers & Shakers

    Hello.

92 here today, very humid and now windy. My arthritis is bad, could that be causing the arthritis?

Cyn, I'm glad you had that done. It must be a relief. Some years ago I stepped into one of those holes they have near pools, I was walking Peggy and couldn't get home. Someone else came by and carried me. The next day I went to the ER and was diagnosed with a sprained ankle and released after x-rays. The pain remained and after 6wks it was still ruddy and swollen so went back to doc. He asked again about the x-rays and told me sprains can take a long time, etc. Went back after another 6 wks and this time he sent me to specialist, because the foot was arthritic many bones were broken. The surgery was major - 4-1/2 hours. All my bones in the left foot are metal and my ankle is pinned to my leg with a steel post. It was non weight bearing for 9 months. I had a knee scooter for that time.

I then discovered TX had tort reform, you simply cannot get reimbursed for damages. Not to scare you but either the x-ray tech didn't catch it, read it, etc. So, please get another x-ray.

Lav, such nic time spent with grandson's and very helpful to your daughter, I bet she appreciates it.

Star, you are a determined woman. You sound better each week. Hugs.

I was waiting for food today so I thought I would look in the back seat of my car and there under the mat was the darned g.c. Relieved because I kept searching and it takes a while to replace it. I am now planning to go for Canada Day, July 1st. It will be for a long weekend, because my sister took her vacation days.

Hi Pauly, I met a guy at the park who had driven up from west Texas and it's pretty treeless out there and he was describing the sand storms. I wondered if you got them too. They sounded horrible.

Anyway, finding that g.c. made it a productive day. It is a very difficult item to apply for.

    See you tomorrow.

    Re: May Movers & Shakers

That was yesterday's thread, I just found it in auto restore.

Not really much to add, I had an email full of affirmations from my sister. Love that.
