Lav, you could have knocked me over with a feather and DD was standing there with aa big smile! She offered help with things I hadn't even mentioned. What is it with these young women who turn on family?

      MAE ALL...

Sam...hope you get the data usage sorted out. The Federal Government is setting new regulations in Canada as we are being gouged!

Lav...it's nice to have a south facing window as long as it's not the living room, way too hot. Glad you were able to rescue your parsley. I don't understand why "dignitaries" visit disaster sites. They offer nothing and just disrupt the important work being done at the time. Custom "stitched" Witches bag, nice! Hope tomorrow is nice and sunny for you.

SK...there is a world of difference between Canada and the US isn't there. Glad you had a nice visit with Viv yesterday. Happy Belated Birthday.

Mick...our weather is supposed to turn on Wednesday. Hope it holds off until after the trick or treat'rs get finish. Probably a good idea to pack it in early yesterday, not fun being out in nasty weather. Don't scratch that head too hard! I'm sure you'll work out whatever you've come up with. Hope Julie's meeting went well and some plans have been put in place. It is a tough time all around and you're right to put Julie first. It was tough putting my Dad into care but in the end it was the best thing. Hopefully he can stay at home for awhile yet. Give Julie 2 thumbs up from me for her 100 days. That's ace. Yup, at work this week and feeling pretty good. Told the boss on Friday that I was getting pretty tired of doing the work he asks the program coordinator to do. He didn't say anything, just walked into his office. Perhaps he said something to her, not sure, but did notice her "trying" to do things without asking me.

Tgirl...there was a report on the increase of accidents and insurance claims because of Uber and Lyft. Not that they're too blame it's just that there's so many more cars on the streets now. Glad the crockpot turkey was a hit. Good job on taking last night off, you deserved it. Never been to NYC but you can bet your bottom dollar I wouldn't be driving if I ever was.

It was a long but productive day. Is it only Monday??? Hope we all have a peaceful evening...PPQP

      MAE ALL...

Mick...good to hear your brother is feeling a bit better. I'm sure it'll take awhile for things to get right. You must be chuffed that Bonnie and Jeeves have taken to each other so well. They will def keep you on your toes. While you still have your cleaning head on, my cooker could use a good scrub. Just saying. Glad to hear Julie has the support of her boss, that can make all the difference. Unfortunately the pics didn't work so if you've got time on your hands you might have a look. Weather still holding up and fingers crossed this winter is milder than last year. Don't think I can go through those endless -22F again!

Shout out to the rest of the gang. Hope we all have a Terrific Tuesday....PPQP

      Re: 28thv..

Morning all, I haven't slept since Sunday night. I bought a lycra topper for my bed and it's a little wide and hangs over so last night I reachd over to the resser and down I was going with my right hand instinctively saving my and I thought no, I can't do another 6 months of this so I brought my left leg out and slammed it against the dresser and saved my fall. I became very anxious and didn't close my eyes.

I opened the NYT this morning and there was apicture of a Trump ralley with heil hitler salutes. I am becoming very anxious here. Viv wil be 10 in Jan and will probably be hanginng wit friends, so I'm wondering how big I am in her life at 12 or 13. I would visit, but I need to go to a gentler place and quiet. This is the hq for so many companies and Toyota just moved here.

So we have Raytheon, TX Instruments, JCPenney, Pepsi, McCafee and the list goes on. When I lived here in the 90's pop. was close to 100K now
      ow it's close to 300K

Mick, couldn't open attachments but my dad left me a book on the history of Stalybridge and I gave it to my son. I have restless leg syndrome so I walk in the night. At about 2:00 a.m. an walked into the living. I had left the window open and a beautiful breeze was wafting through @ 65. 83 again today.

      Check in later.

it took over 60 shots to catch Bunbun climbing out of that hollow pumpkin LOL we had
so much fun and BB was rewarded handsomely with blueberries.

SK, too funny on the 'no toothbrushes or raisins' request. How about a bulb of garlic?
and hey... try not to hurt yerself ok? my goodness

I'll be home alone on halloween so I'll be up against the little mutants solo. eeek! I can't recall the last
time I passed out treats on this holiday. Considering the part of town I'm in I might dress up in my
      Kevlar vest. oh boy...

so yes I've been busy entertaining Grams and having fun treating her like royalty which she truly deserves.
She's back home now safe and sound.

      Re: 28thv..

      Evening friends,

Mick, kudos to Julie, and good luck with the plans for her dad... life is change, we just don't want to realize it most of the time. Hope all turns out well...

Lav, how was time with granddaughter? I'm sure she will be the cutest Witch on the block! Your dad lived with you for that long? You are amazing...

Pauly, helooooo! How are you doing?

PPQ, I hope your work gets straightened out, that sounds frustrating. Good for you for putting things to bed outside; I don't know if I'll get there this year, except for the hose...

Det, you are so sweet to treat your Gran like royalty - wonderful. Hope the telephone interview went well.

SK, goodness! I hope you don't have any more near-falls. I have almost ended up on top of the dog bed some nights when I am checking to see if the pup is warm... I know that it seems like a great distance. Sorry about the restless legs. I completely understand how you are feeling about the US -- some days I don't recognize it, and feel like we are all at risk. I wouldn't blame you for moving... Canada is soundeing darn good.

Hello to Sam and anyone else, if I missed you, sorry -

A sunny day today, rare. So thrilled to have sun and No wind, what a gift. Makes such a difference in my outlook - I am thinking of getting one of those anti-SAD lights to help out this winter, enough of the stiff upper lip business!

      Wishing all well this eve...

      Re: 28thv..

SK...maybe you should just put the topper on the floor, safer there. Maybe put it in the living room for the cool night breezes. Maybe you could plan play dates with Viv and go somewhere quiet for awhile.

Mick...thanks for fixing the pics! They're great. Always like B&W's.

Det...thanks for pointing out the Mick fixed the pics. LOL Love BB in the pumpkin, she's adorable. I can remember (or not) many a Halloween that I hid inside because I was too tipsy to answer the door. Those days are long gone and where I live we don't get any goblins coming around so can hide sober. LOL I bet Grams had a wonderful time with you. These phone interviews are new to me. That's how the boss hired our Building Super, start with a phone interview and if he liked what he heard set up a face to face interview. Keeping my fingers crossed as well for you.

Tgirl...hoses were the first to be put away. Once the underground irrigation was blown out it was time. Only took another 2 weeks to get to the rest of it. LOL I think Wind is the worst. It always seems to wear me out. Lots of room up here in Canada, come on up.

Lav...do get any trick or treat'rs at your place? When living on the ranch the neighbour kids would show up but the bigger kids were all at the community centre.

Sam...T-11 days till data is restored. Will be wanting an update on things by then.

Off to fix supper, have a peaceful evening all....PPQP

      Re: 28thv..

      Good evening Abbers,

Had a great day, got home just before 10 pm.
My granddaughter was very happy with her witch bag & the treats inside. Not a single raisin or toothbrush in sight, ha ha!!!

Mick, nice vintage pics! Sounds like things are going pretty well on your end, nice!
The sunshine definitely improved my outlook today

Det, awesome bunny pose there! I can see the extra time/effort involved in photographing animals, good for you.
I hope your interview goes very well & turns into an offer for you

SK, goodness woman!! You scare me with the falls. It's an age related thing (since we're not drinkers). We really have to work on improving strength & balance, all of us!!
I have a bottle of magnesium spray that I originally purchased for lower back & hip pain. It works well when I remember to actually use it of course. I found out that if I use it before bedtime it not only makes my back feel better but it also calms the jumpy legs! Nice side effect huh? I have tried many different brands & types of magnesium but do not tolerate it (destroys my GI system). This topical spray works well.
I think Viv will always want to spend time with you, even as she gets older. My grandson is also turning 10 next month & we have a real special bond. Relationships do change but they don't necessarily have to end

Cyn, we had just moved into our previous house when my mom's health problems got very serious. We had an addition built onto the house (in-law quarters) & moved them in so I could take care of her & continue to work & raise my family. Unfortunately she passed only 6 or 7 months later. My dad stayed until just two weeks before he passed when I placed him in a nursing home. It wasn't fun having him, he was a miserable person. I certainly learned my lesson.

PQ, we have lived here 15 years & have never had a trick-or-treater show up at the door, haha! Just 7 miles down the road where my son lives they get hundreds of them!!!! There's sidewalks there & the houses are closer together so the kids have a ball!

      Hello to Sam!

      Have a nice night everyone!
