      Re: 10 March

Yes Mick, I clearly recall all the doomsday preparations required for Y2K. What an unnecessary burden of stress that all was! I think that there are some who actually thrive on that kind of drama, so maybe that explains the folks interviewed by the BBC.

PQ, do you have any time off available? Maybe just getting away for a bit would help. The people that you work with are unlikely to change, so maybe a change in scenery for you would make things more tolerable?

Pauly, I feel the same regret over wasted youth. On the other hand, I'm younger today than I'll ever be again!

quick check in, going with my son to watch David Grisman and Del McCurry tonight up there in the netherworld of Northern VA. Traffic, and parking always an issue.

      Re: 10 March

      MAE AGAIN ALL…

Mick…glad the trip to drop off the van was uneventful. Let the packing/repacking begins LOL. Thank you for the very good advice about talking to a board member. I do have a list of complaints from the public. The only serious 121 convo was during my employee review which was very positive. One day the boss was yakking and said he was talking to a board member and the subject of PQ came up. He said PQ always comes up among the board members, they know what a valuable employee they have and were concerned about the stress I had been going through. Boss said stress was much better as private life had been sorted out. And to be honest a lot of work stress disappeared when new boss started, but it’s back so good idea to get it on the record.

Pauly…thanks. I can usually go with the flow but this is getting ridiculous. I’m glad you’re getting some relief with the Hylands tabs. You’re funny, freaking out about the “grand” word. Don’t get me wrong I understand where you’re coming from and you know the only thing you can control is how you react so acknowledge that pill and after you’ve swallowed, laugh. The past is the past, let it go. Oh, and it’s Tuna Casserole again tonight as it was requested.

Pi…I was smack dab in the IT world when the Y2K crisis hit. It just made me laugh with everything people were saying. Yes, I have plenty of time off and that gives me an idea. The prog-cord is on holidays the first half of May and I am now going to schedule the 2nd half of May off. She wants to be the boss, have at it. I'm younger today than I'll ever be again! I’m going to steal that.

Sam…I hope you have a great time with your son.

Lav…we’re still driving in mashed potatoes but with the forecast this weekend that should soon end. So the job security could have become an issue today. I am so sick and tired of covering her ass and then getting all the complaints from instructors and the public that when I received an email from a senior today saying that she was confused, the prog-cord told her the class she wanted was full and that she couldn’t register for any other program. I replied that yes there does seem to be some confusion and that although she couldn’t get into the program she wanted there are lots of other spring programs she can register for and sent her the link. I cc’d the boss and the prog-cord. Well, you should have seen the snarky reply from the prog-coord that she also cc’d the boss. I just thought good, now he can see what is actually going on. Boss didn’t say a word to me about it, job all good. LOL There’s a saying around the office “Whatever you do, don’t piss off PQ” LOL

Sorry this post was mostly me venting but I did leave the office today feeling good about myself and looking forward to enjoying the warm/sunny weather ahead. On the way out the door the boss said have a great weekend PQ. Hoping everyone has a positive weekend as well….PPQP

      Re: 10 March

      Happy weekend eve everyone

PQ, if you don't stand up for yourself who will????
I remember being admonished at work for using my words to stand up for myself or someone who was being treated unfairly. Too bad, huh??
A little vacation time sounds like a good idea! Treat yourself well

Sam, hope you are enjoying your evening!

      Hi there Pie & Pauly!
Pauly, I didn't become a grandmom until I was 55 so I was a little more prepared for the 'grand' thing. You are still plenty young, no worries!

Det, the ferris wheel pic makes me dizzy, haha! Nice shot though.
Our silverware used to disappear when our kids were little. I found most of it out in the sandbox in the backyard & some pieces I found in the woods in the back of our yard. Haven't lost any recently!! Hope you are having fun getting your condo ready.

Mick, pack & unpack huh? I usually pack the night before I go somewhere & then forget about it, haha!

Thinking about TT today after that awful massacre in NZ yesterday.

SK, are you OK? We haven't heard from you for a few days?

I guess the rain has finally showed up because I'm hearing thunder now ~ swell.
      Have a nice night everyone!

      Lav

Lav,I think TT and Kuya both live in NZ? Very tragic, I'm hating watching the news today
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"

Off the table no MATTER what.

“You only had one about half an hour ago,” I sighed.

“I need another one.” He grimaced. “I’ve got diarrhoea.”

“Well go behind the same bush as before,” I said.

I needed to pay a visit, so I found a public toilet that had two cubicles.

One of the doors was locked. So I went into the other one, closed the door, dropped my trousers and sat down.

A voice came from the cubicle next to me: "Hi ya mate, how are you going"?

Although I thought that it was a bit strange, I didn't want to be rude, so I replied "Not too bad thanks".

After a short pause, I heard the voice again "So, what are you up to"?

Again I answered, somewhat reluctantly, "Just having a quick poo.., how about yourself"?

The next thing I heard him say was ...

"Sorry mate, I'll have to call you back. I've got some d*ckhead in the loo next to me answering everything I say".

      HAROLD: A teacher.

There's a man with a bald head and a wooden leg who gets invited to a Halloween party. He doesn't know what costume to wear to hide his head and his leg so he writes to a costume company to explain his problem. A few days later he received a parcel with the following note:

      Dear Sir:
Please find enclosed a pirate's outfit. The spotted handkerchief will cover your bald head and, with your wooden leg, you will be just right as a pirate.
      Very truly yours,
      Acme Costume Co.

The man thinks this is terrible because they have just emphasized his wooden leg and so he writes a letter of complaint. A week passes and he receives another parcel and a note, which says:

      Dear Sir:
Please find enclosed a monk's habit. The long robe will cover your wooden leg and, with your bald head, you will really look the part.
      Very truly yours,
      Acme Costume Co.

Now the man is really annoyed since they have gone from emphasizing his wooden leg to emphasizing his bald head so he writes the company another nasty letter of complaint. The next day he received a small parcel and a note which read:

      Dear Sir:
Please find enclosed a bottle of molasses. Pour the molasses over your bald head, stick your wooden leg up your butt and go as a caramel apple.
      Very truly yours,
      Acme Costume Co.

      MAE ALL...

Sam...sounds like it was worth the trip.

Mick...what a difference a day makes eh? Good job on getting the van in yesterday. In Duchess we had a creek formed by the Red Deer river that circled the property on 3 sides. During mass rain storms it would rise up over the bridge and onto the property. It explained why the house was built on a hill, something like you. Just read the last line of your jokes while typing this, now I got to see the beginning of that one. LOL Hope the weather forecast is correct for your detecting tomorrow.

Shout out to the gang, will be back later today....PPQP

      loved the joke.

      Re: 10 March

      Good evening Abbers,

It was a little chillier here & pretty windy but dry - no rain!
Spent a little time with my oldest grandson today after his cub pack finished their community service project. Sometimes I can't believe how mature he is, very intelligent kid.

Mick, your puddles are impressive there friend!
I hope all that water stays out of your basement if you have one. I hope the weather clears up real soon for you

Sam, glad to hear you enjoyed your show! I love live music & performances.
My daughter & granddaughter took the train into the city (Philly) today for an afternoon ballet performance. Sounds like they had a ball.
I just read that there's a Missouri state senator introducing a bill to make it mandatory that everyone from age 21-35 own an AR 15. WHAT???
WTF is wrong with people in this country? Every damn politician seems to be owned by the NRA

Pauly, you're right, Kuya is in NZ as well. Haven't talked to her for a while.

PQ, I hope you are having a fantastic weekend!

SK, Det, Pie - hello to all of you.

I made an IP dinner, sautéed a big pan of cabbage on the side & baked a vegan apple cake for dessert. I need to go slice that thing right now!!

      Have a nice night everyone!
