yawn, heya ABeroooos! oh my, insomina monster got me last night so feeling pretty woozy but it beats hungover any day.

concert and trip overall was a big hit and we all had a blast. LA traffic is still gutwrenching but no surprises there. I was so bad
I had pizza... moink. rare for me so been back to the gym.

I took an artistic pic from the hotel window and love how dark and weird it came out LOL.
All effects are in-camera and not photoshop.

      Healing thoughts for Romeo.

Mick, rabbits just love chewing expensive things! i think Bunbun has been through 4 pair of headsets to date and going strong...

Pauly, I made Chinese last night. Sure hope it helps your cold.

Hugs to Lav, Tree, PPQ (yay for day off!)

I've applied for a job at an architectural photography outfit based in San Jose that needs work here so furiously studying as usual.
just submitted the written test...think I did well but still waiting to hear.

well, got some maiale cacciatore on the stove and it's smelling yummo here.

Being at a full hard-core concert was a good sobriety test with all the strong cues in place... didn't phase me. What a relief.

I bid thee all a very fine Tue afternoon and of course... be well loves

      Re: Sun Oct 6th

      Good evening friends,

Well we had the clouds all day but no rain yet.
Can’t believe we had over 33” of rain during the first half of the year & now everything is rock hard & dying out there, geez.
We are actually going to see Vince Gill perform tomorrow. YB suddenly has an interest in country music I guess, haha! Strange!

Cyn, glad you are getting a few minutes of free time to enjoy the season.
I actually still have the AC on here because the humidity hasn’t really let up & the allergens are plentiful.

PQ, I was just out putting the chickens to bed & watched a huge flock of Canadian geese heading your way
There are so many craft events I could be doing but I’m trying not to wear out my helper. I am signed up for one early next month.
No one is ready for snow yet!

Pauly, I made that one pot chicken lo mein today - yum & very https://www.thewholesomedish.com/one...icken-lo-mein/
I hope you & Romeo are both feeling better

Mick, we have 2 power washers in the garage but I can’t talk YB into using them. Why? The siding on the house & garage need to be cleaned, the deck is awful looking too. If I hire someone to just come do the work then YB gets mad. I can’t win. I’d also like to know why you are power washing in the rain, LOL
Sorry you got zapped, that’s scary! Be careful buddy.

Hello to Det & Sam. Pie, what’s up?
Det, that’s a great pic! Good luck with the job application, sounds pretty cool.

      Have a nice night everyone!

He is then asked "You see a non-burning house and a hose disconnected from a fire hydrant. What do you do?" to which the Mathematician immediately responds, "I'll set the house of fire to reduce this to a problem I've already solved."

"Tell me about it", the priest said.

The fellow then related his story. "Father, I am a deliveryman for UPS. Yesterday I was making a delivery in the affluent section of the city. "And, what did you do, my son" asked the priest?

"Father, I did not go in the house but I lusted. Oh, how I lusted", replied the man.

"Your sin has been forgiven", replied the priest. "You will get your reward in heaven, my son".

"A reward, father? What do you think my reward might be" the fellow asked?

The priest replied, "I think a bale of hay would be appropriate, jackass".

      Re: Sun Oct 6th

Hi Mick...I can just picture you running around trying to catch those two. LOL I'm actually glad to hear you didn't do anymore power washing today. Glad to see you're paying attention to Julie's hiking ability, I think it's great the two of you head out together. Slowly getting my energy back and spent most of the day at work but came home a bit early, not going to over do it. Sun was out all day today so even if it was a bit cool a lot of the snow has disappeared.

Hi Lav...thanks for the heads up on the Canadian geese, hope they take their time getting here. LOL I know I'm not ready for snow yet!!

Hi Det...glad the concert and trip was a success. You'll never see me driving in LA traffic. LOL Nice pic especially just using the camera settings. Fingers crossed for your new job.

Going to throw a frozen lasagna in the oven as that's all the energy I have left. Hope we all have a restful evening...PPQP

      Mae all -

Great to read all the news...

Mick, careful around those wire, eeek! So, are bunnies immune to the electricity? Your hike sounds great, nice of you to break it up. If weather holds, the plan here is for a Palisades hike on Sunday... we'll see. The medical jokes of a few days ago were especially funny! I have a friend who fell while visiting friends in FL..broken hip, he's been in a bad way, but seems to be coming out of the pain-mess-induced nuttiness. I'm going to send one of those jokes to him each day, thx.

Det, great to hear about the music fest and you - wonderful job! Amazing photo. Crossing fingers for you and the SJ job...

Lav, yesterday's rain helped a bit here - of course, I got stuck driving in it for nearly 3 hours (went up to a friend's to help her move things into a new house). 10 hour day, as I then stopped and got more things of ours out of a client's barn on the way back... they will need the space soon. I hope some day not to be schlepping my things around! Thx for the recipe, will try it soon...

Pauly, here's hoping that little cold stays little and goes away! The Chinese dinner sounded good.

Hello to Sam and all -

      May we be well --

hiya all how are we today then? all good I hope..yep pouring with rain ...and yep finished the powerwashing too..I know but ..hey it had to be done ...hopefully the weather is ok to go out tomorrow .Well your hash 45 has lost a lot of support over here over the extradition of Anna Sacoolas who claimed diplomatic immunity after the death of child by driving in uk .Trump fkd it up last night by giving a kind of yes we appreciate it was an accident sorry and all that ...at the same time in his hand was a piece of paper with words to the effect of ..if they ask for extradition ..no way are they getting it.Yes it was if true an accident that may or may not have happened...but the point was his arrogant asshole attitude which was clearly his intention from the start.Interesting to see what happens .
hiya tree how are you today then?Im not sure about the rabbits being immune to leccy..it kind of looks like it!!hope it goes ok for you on Sunday

hiya ppqp ...you ok?apart from Lasagne flinging.oh yes those 2 when they decide they arent going in thats exactly what happens..they dont!!so your snow has gone now?The sun will be out next!

hiya Lav hows you today then? all good?

big shout to everyone else .

This year my works are having a Brexit themed Christmas party. We're having it in April, maybe August......

I asked the local farmer, 'Are your animals kindly reared?'

He replied, 'Sure, I always use plenty of lube.'

No matter how good an albino's camera is they'll still have red eye!

Boris Johnson quietly visits Merseyside for Brexit talks but dodges Liverpool.
On the bright side he must be one of the first to escape with 4 wheels on his car intact.

In George Washington's days, there were no cameras. One's image was either sculpted or painted. Some paintings of George Washington showed him standing behind a desk with one arm behind his back while others showed both legs and both arms. Prices charged by painters were not based on how many people were to be painted, but by how many limbs were to be painted. Arms and legs are 'limbs,' therefore painting them would cost the buyer more. Hence the expression, 'Okay, but it'll cost you an arm and a leg.' (Artists know hands and arms are more difficult to paint.)

In the late 1700's, many houses consisted of a large room with only one chair. Commonly, a long wide board folded down from the wall, and was used for dining. The 'head of the household' always sat in the chair while everyone else ate sitting on the floor. Occasionally a guest, who was usually a man, would be invited to sit in this chair during a meal. To sit in the chair meant you were important and in charge. They called the one sitting in the chair the 'chair man.' Today in business, we use the expression or title 'Chairman' or 'Chairman of the Board.'

Personal hygiene left much room for improvement. As a result, many women and men had developed acne scars by adulthood. The women would spread bee's wax over their facial skin to smooth out their complexions. When they were speaking to each other, if a woman began to stare at another woman's face she was told, 'mind your own bee's wax.' Should the woman smile, the wax would crack, hence the term 'crack a smile'. In addition, when they sat too close to the fire, the wax would melt. Therefore, the expression 'losing face.'

Ladies wore corsets, which would lace up in the front. A proper and dignified woman, as in 'straight laced' wore a tightly tied lace.

Early politicians required feedback from the public to determine what the people considered important. Since there were no telephones, TV's or radios, the politicians sent their assistants to local taverns, pubs, and bars. They were told to 'go sip some Ale and listen to people's conversations and political concerns. Many assistants were dispatched at different times. 'You go sip here' and 'You go sip there.' The two words 'go sip' were eventually combined when referring to the local opinion and, thus we have the term 'gossip.'

At local taverns, pubs, and bars, people drank from pint and quart-sized containers. A bar maid's job was to keep an eye on the customers and keep the drinks coming. She had to pay close attention and remember who was drinking in 'pints' and who was drinking in 'quarts,' hence the phrase 'minding your 'P's and Q's'.

A man was driving down a motorway in England with his blonde girlfriend and she piped up,"I think those people in the car next to us are from Wales".
"Why do you think that" he said?

      "stit ruoy su wohS".

      Adam Got Caught Speeding Yesterday...
the policeman asked him to step out of the car and walk in a straight line. Half way down he stopped Adam and said, "I'm sorry sir, but you'll have to come back to the station with me as you're staggering".
Adam replied, "Oohh, you little tiger, you're not so bad looking yourself".

Someone knocked at my door this afternoon.
When I opened it, I saw a guy from Domino's holding a cheese and tomato pizza.
"I haven't ordered any pizzas," I said. "This must be a mistake."
"I know," he replied. "Your neighbour forgot his Facebook password and wanted to show you what he was eating for lunch."

      MAE ALL...

TG...here's to the day you quit schlepping your things around. LOL You are one busy lady. Will things slow down for you over Christmas or is it just never ending?

Mick...I'm starting think you get more rain than Vancouver BC. Glad you got the power washing done now I can quit worrying you're going to electrocute yourself. Yup the politics never end. I hate people who feel entitled, we've got a lot of them at the community centre. Sun was out today and most of the snow is gone. Just need the temp to warm up. I continue to feel stronger but don't want to over do it, don't want to actually spend a full day at work. LOL

Shout out to the rest of the gang....PPQP

      Re: Sun Oct 6th

      Greetings Abbers,

We really enjoyed the concert last night. The place was sold out & everyone seemed to be having a good time. Didn’t get back home until midnight, yikes. Haven’t been out that late for a while, haha!
We’ve had a mix of sun & clouds all day, at least it’s not hot.

Mick, if you really, really miss power washing things I’ll save all the dirt here for you, haha! Good job getting that done!

PQ, glad to hear you are not pushing yourself too hard. That’s not an easy thing for some of us.
Hey, frozen meals were created for times like this, good idea! just saw a ton more geese heading your way.

Det, sounds like your trip was successful. How did the 13 yr old do? Haha!

Cyn, 10 hr days are not much easier than 12 hr shifts I used to work, exhausting. Take it easy & trust that things will get done. That’s all I can do any more.
I tossed a 6 lb turkey breast in the IP with some onion, celery & a whole lot of seasoning & it was done perfectly in 30 minutes. Leftovers it will be the next few days.

Pauly, hope you are feeling OK, Romeo too!

      Have a nice night everyone.

      Mae all!

Mick, the jokes are just too good, thanks for the laughs. Glad that your power washing is done and dusted... now you can have some fun!

PQ, glad to hear that you are mending, and that the snow is gone. Good luck with the sun! My poor friends in MN, looking forward to cold and snow... I think they are going to lose heart already!!

Pauly, how is your cold? Going away I hope.

Lav, glad the show was good. Yep, I think making nurses work 12 hour shifts is nuts... how can they care for people under those circumstances? Hey, love that lo mein recipe - do you think that it could be made in the IP? I do have a large soup pot, but not sure if it would work so well...

Hello to Det and Sam and all else stopping by...
