"Johnny, where's your homework"? Miss Martin said sternly to the little boy while holding out her hand.

"My dog ate it", was his solemn response.

"Johnny, I've been a teacher for eighteen years. Do you really expect me to believe that"?

"It's true, Miss Martin, I swear", insisted Johnny.

"I had to force him, but he ate it"!

A few years ago the Canadian National Lottery was won by a farmer.

As might be expected, the news media converged on his farm.

One of the TV reporters asked the farmer what he was going to do with the several million dollars.

His answer was priceless, "Well, I think I'll just keep farming until it's all gone".

A blonde from Arkansas is going on her first overseas trip. She drives all the way into Little Rock to apply for a passport. In the passport office, the government official sees that she is visibly puzzled filling her passport application.

The passport official looks over her shoulder and sees the blonde trying to write 'twice a week' into the small space labeled 'SEX'.

The official explains: "No, no, no. That is not what we mean by this question. We are asking 'Male' or 'Female'".

    "Doesn't matter", the blonde answers.

    A Man Went to Visit
his 90 year old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of the state. After spending the night, his grandfather prepared breakfast for him consisting of eggs and bacon. He noticed a film-like substance on his plate and he questioned his grandfather. "Are these plates clean"?

His grandfather replied...."those plates are as clean as cold water can get them so go on and finish your meal".

That afternoon, while eating the hamburgers his grandfather made for lunch, he noticed tiny specks around the edge of his plate, and a substance that looked like dried egg yokes. So he asked again, "Are you sure these plates are clean"?

Without looking up from his hamburger, the grandfather says, "I told you before, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them, now don't ask me about it anymore"!

Later that afternoon, as he was on his way out to get the paper, the dog started to growl and would not let him pass. "Grandfather, your dog won't let me out", he complained.

Without diverting his attention from the football game, his Grandfather shouted, "Coldwater, move"!

A baby was born who was so advanced, he could talk. He looked around the delivery room and saw the doctor.

“Are you my doctor” he asked?

“Yes, I am”, said the doctor.

The baby said, “Thank you for taking such good care of me during the birth”.

He looked at his mother and asked, “Are you my mother”?

“Yes, I am”, said the mother.

“Thank you for taking such good care of me before I was born”, he said.

He then looked at his father and asked, “Are you my father”?

“Yes, I am”, his father answered.

The baby motioned him closer, then poked him repeatedly on the forehead with his index finger. “Hurts doesn’t it”!

A chicken farmer went to a local bar.... Sat next to a woman and ordered a glass of champagne.

The woman perks up and says, 'How about that? I just ordered a glass of champagne, too'!

'What a coincidence' the farmer says. 'This is a special day for me.... I am celebrating'.

'This is a special day for me too, I am also celebrating' says the woman!

'What a coincidence!' says the farmer! As they clinked glasses the man asked, 'What are you celebrating'?

'My husband and I have been trying to have a child and today my gynaecologist told me that I am pregnant'!

'What a coincidence,' says the man. 'I'm a chicken farmer and for years all of my hens were infertile, but today they are all laying fertilized eggs'.

'That's great!' says the woman. 'How did your chickens become fertile'?

'I used a different cock', he replied.

The woman smiled and said, 'What a coincidence'.

Arnold and his wife were cleaning out the attic one day when he came across a ticket from the local shoe repair shop. The date stamped on the ticket showed that it was over eleven years old.

They both laughed and tried to remember which of them might have forgotten to pick up a pair of shoes over a decade ago.

"Do you think the shoes will still be in the shop" Arnold asked?

"Not very likely", his wife said." It's worth a try", Arnold said, pocketing the ticket. He went downstairs, hopped into the car, and drove to the store. With a straight face, he handed the ticket to the man behind the counter.

With a face just as straight, the man said, "Just a minute. I'll have to look for these." He disappeared into a dark corner at the back of the shop. Two minutes later, the man called out, "Here they are"!

"No kidding?" Arnold called back. "That's terrific! Who would have thought they'd still be here after all this time".

The man came back to the counter, empty-handed. "They'll be ready Thursday", he said calmly.

It seems that God received a delegation of animals complaining of their lot in life.

There was an elephant, a giraffe, and a hen.

The elephant complained, "Lord, I HATE THIS TRUNK YOU have given me. It gets in the way, and makes me look like a fool"!

The Lord said, "Don't complain. It lets you pick up food, drink water, etc. without getting wet"!

Next the giraffe complained, "Lord, I HATE THIS LONG NECK! It makes me top heavy, I get terrible neck pains, and people laugh at me"!

The Lord said, "Don't complain. It lets you pick the best fruit and leaves from the high branches, and allows you to see a distance".

The hen spoke up, "Lord, I don't want to complain..... but either let me have a bigger arse or smaller eggs"

    and finally........

    Great naan pic Mick, haha!!!!

    Hello everyone,
We are officially chilly here today with frost warnings posted for tonight. was a bit of a problem when the newish heater would turn on this morning, yikes! The installer happens to live right next door so we hijacked his entire morning & it’s all fixed now, geez.
YB & son left here 9:30 this morning & arrived at their destination about 5:30 tonight, long drive. The boat pulls out at 5 am so I don’t imagine they will be doing a whole lot of partying this evening, Lol

Pauly, sorry to hear you are all still sick. Personally, I wouldn’t eat raw garlic
Chicken soup, hot tea & plenty of other fluids will drown a virus. Hang in there!

More rain for you Mick? Sorry about that!
Maybe what your bunnies really want is a vacation. Do you think they get bored? Who knows?

How are you today PQ? Feeling better I hope

    Det, what’s up?

Cyn, I have a feeling my son did all the driving to Gloucester today because YB was texting about the traffic in NY & CT the whole time, haha!
Hope you are doing well. I made myself a pot of vegan mushroom barley veggie soup today. I switched out the barley for farro (because that’s what i had) &only used white button mushrooms but it was still tasty. Vegan Mushroom Barley Soup • Salt & Lavender

Hope everyone has a comfy night!

    Mae all -

Quiet here at the moment, oooh la la... (hubs is taking a nap...)

Spent 6 hours in the car yesterday (with the dog) going to and from my friend's house up in MA.... but she was so grateful that it really was worth it! Long day, though the colors were gorgeous when the sun was out...

Mick, hysterical Naan pic! Glad that the rain has stopped for a bit - I watched the vote in the House of Commons (or wherever); wow, it kind of reminded me of a Monty Python skit!! Who's is the guy that reads the votes and keeps crying out "Quiet" in a weird voice? So it sounds like Boris didn't get his wish list, is that correct? Congrats on your pretty bougie.

Lav, I did not take offense at your comment! I just can't face the coloring anymore - I always did my own as well...(for 35 years!) I am pretty OK with my hair this way, but must get a great cut, or I really do look like a granny. And it makes me furious that people on the subway keep offering me their seat!!! I like to stand, so I say 'no thanks' and just keep standing - they look very confused! I am using more makeup now, maybe that will slow them down, ha!

PPQ, big congrats to you on handling the party - that's a big deal!! I hope you don't end up with any issues from it. Rest!

Pauly, eeek so sorry for all the kids being sick, darn. Stay well!! Grief can really last a long time... are there counselors you can talk with, if you want to? Sorry your mom is being a problem... it sometimes happens as they age, they can get more opinionated. Good luck!!!

Shout out to Det and Sam and all others...

    May we be well...

    Re: Oct 13th

    Greetings Abbers,

First of all - I have to tell you that I am grateful there will be no tuna arriving tomorrow with the guys. Apparently my son had one on the line but it was determined to be about 400 lbs & 85” long. The law says anything over 68” must be returned to the sea, they are considered breeding fish. Just what exactly would you do with a 400 lb bluefin tuna anyway???? OMG, that’s just way too much, LOL
They said they had a great trip & will be leaving early tomorrow morning for the ride home, fishless

PQ, so nice of you to manage a party for someone right now. I hope he/she appreciated your effort & you got some rest today!

Pauly, your brother’s 4th wedding? Wow!
I never experienced my mom being crabby like that, I wouldn’t know what to tell you. My mom did not drive so I had no problem taking her places. If someone is crabby to me & expecting me to do something for them - I think I’d leave them wanting, just saying.

Cyn, Glad you found a few quiet moments for yourself, haha!
I have to agree, a good haircut makes everyone look good! Nice to hear you are seeing the fall colors, still waiting for that around here. We have some & had a 32 degree night last night so maybe the colors will be coming.

I entertained myself this afternoon making donuts - vegan, baked, apple cider donuts with a cinnamon sugar coating. They are GOOD & I’m about to inhale a second one, LOL. Pic on FB!

Hello to Mick, Det & all.
    Have a nice night kids!

    whew! heya ABerooooooos!

sorry to be such a stranger and I've not the time to read back just yet, just a quick note that I'm doing well and super stinking busy having been
hired by the photography outfit and shot my first house with more on the schedule as well as some portrait work as well as doing the temp job which has
had me working overtime through the weekend so I only got home at 7:30 tonight and have work laundry etc so I've been in crazy busy mode.
miss you all so much and hope you are hanging in there. Monday I'll finally get some time to catch up and rest a tad.
    be well loves!
