Hello all - well, I posted on the old thread on May 3rd, so I am putting it in here below. Right after writing that post, my hubs gifted me with a humongous cold - really hard to avoid in a small apartment with only one bathroom... I had a dreadful day yesterday, but today I'm feeling more human and getting a few things done (think laundry and vacuuming). Bright and sunny here today, up to 50, but the cold is coming , and maybe a few flakes as well...but can't complain, we've had such a run of good weather... more when I can see the screen better!!!

Glad everyone is chugging along... we had trick-or-treaters here at the apartment building (they gave us signs to put on our doors, so kids would know if it was OK to knock.) I put the "no" sign on our door, plus "Happy Halloween" and a basket of goodies - they were all gone by 9pm...

I drove on Friday up to a client in my old home town, then up further into MA to help some friends who have sold their house. I went back to my CT digs, and spent the night (with my pooch in tow) at my old across-the-street neighbor. It was so good to catch up and hang out with her.
Btw, Lav, they had terrible weather also up there - roads were closed, and power out in some of the towns.

Glad everyone made it through Halloween OK... these trips away are great for me, as I get out of the congested traffic around here, but the long drives are a little tiring. Another trip on Monday...

Lav, you are getting the Fiber award for cooking... how is YB doing with the big change in food? Hubs is down with a bad cold... I am wiping every surface down constantly... with just one bathroom to share, I wonder if I will be able to side-step this one, trying to! The plants you got in the ground sound great.

PPQ, glad you got good rest after the neighbor's midnight knocking... that's crazy! Hope you are gaining energy each day.

Det, congrats on the happy client - your work sounds great.

Mick, what lucky rabbits to have hand-made toys! I may be taking my pup to doggy day care every so often, he needs some variety I think...

Pauly, I am a "home body" from the get-go - crafts are a great idea, then you can actually see what you've been spending time on - I'd like to get back to knitting...

A man, and his wife are awakened at 3 o'clock in the morning by a loud pounding on the door.

The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, Standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.

"Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3 o'clock in the morning!"

He slams the door and returns to bed.

"Who was that?" asked his wife.

"Just some drunk guy asking for a push," he answers.

"Did you help him?" she asks.

"No, I did not! It's 3 o'clock in the morning and it is pouring out there!"

"Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of yourself!"

The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pounding rain.

He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?"

"Yes" comes back the answer.

"Do you still need a push?" calls out the husband.

"Yes, Please!" comes the reply from the dark.

"Where are you?" asks the husband.

"Over here on the swing!" replies the drunk.

A plane was taking off from Kennedy Airport. After it reached a comfortable cruising altitude, the captain made an announcement over the intercom:

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to Flight Number 293, nonstop from New York to Los Angeles. The weather ahead is good, and therefore we should have a smooth and uneventful flight. Now sit back and relax - OH MY GOD!"

Silence.

Then, the captain came back on the intercom and said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so sorry if I scared you earlier, but while I was talking, the flight attendant brought me a cup of coffee and spilled the hot coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants!"

A passenger in coach shouted, "That's nothing. He should see the back of mine!"

A guy runs into a bar and says, "Bartender, quick! Give me 20 shots of your best Scotch"!

A police officer in a small town stopped a motorist who was speeding down Main Street.

A few hours later the officer looked in on his prisoner and said, "Lucky for you, the chief's at his daughter's wedding so he'll be in a good mood when he gets back".

"Don't count on it", answered the guy in the cell. "I'm the groom".

First guy: "you have no idea what I had to do to be able to come out golfing this weekend. I had to promise my wife that I will paint every room in the house next weekend

Second guy: "that is nothing; I had to promise my wife that I will build her a new deck for the pool."

Third guy: "man, you both have it easy! I had to promise my wife that I will remodel the kitchen for her."

They continue to play the hole when they realized that the fourth guy has not said a word. So they asked him. "You haven't said anything about what you had to do to be able to come golfing this weekend what's the deal

Fourth guy: "I just set my alarm for 5:30am. When it went off, I shut off my alarm, gave the wife a nudge and said, golf course or intercourse?"

And she said, "Wear a sweater."

A father spoke to his son, "It's time we had a little talk, my son. Soon, you will have urges and feelings you've never had before. Your heart will pound and your hands will sweat. You'll be preoccupied and won't be able to think of anything else." He added, "But don't worry, it's perfectly normal... It's called golf."

I can't hear myself think at the moment. I'm in my shop with 2 machines running, music on & two grandsons whooping up all kinds of noise, haha!!!

Cyn, feel better soon friend. PQ, you feel better too! Before you start thinking about taking any supposed 'Osteoporosis meds' we need to have a chat. Those things are vile & caused me some serious gut problems 15 years ago that I am still dealing with today

TG...I actually saw that post on the other thread, glad you copied it here. I've been seeing videos of kids coming up to houses where the treat bowl at halloween was empty and actually put some of their candy in. LOL There's hope for us yet! Sorry to hear about hubs gift but glad you're feeling better today. I seem to get more energy every day, can actually feel it, but when I power out I power out quick! Still haven't got the energy to vacuum, do laundry, do the dishes....that's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL

Mick...your phone post will probably land tomorrow. Must have been the time change. LOL Glad to hear you didn't have to do a second coat in the kitchen, I won't tell Julie. Nice pictures of your guest today. Was wondering what kind of bird it was but thanks to Lav I know it's a pheasant.

Lav...did you get to the kids before they drew blood? LOL Are you working on last minute craft fair items? Don't burn out that software upgrade. I will definitely be in touch before starting any "Osteoporosis meds". Actually I'll be checking in with you before starting any new meds. LOL

Boss called a meeting for 11am which he never showed up for. When he finally showed up I told him we had figured things out ourselves so all's good. Otherwise I'd still be there! What an a$$. Then he went into a (3 hour) meeting with the program coordinator so I decided to play bridge all afternoon. Hah! So all in all a good day and my energy held out till quitting time at 5pm. Have a good evening all...PPQP

I perked up after starting the laundry, and ended up getting a good bit done yesterday... even figured out another trick to get my clothes into our minuscule closet.

Mick, thanks for the political jokes especially, it helps to remember that this nonsense has been going on for centuries, if not eons. Love the pick of the pheasant! Did you here it's call? I love their funny call - my dad used to have a wooden "caller" for hunting, I thought it was a great toy... congrats on all the painting... you are always busy.

And speaking of always busy, Lav, wow, that was a lot going on yesterday! Good luck as you get ready for this fair - can the boys be put to work getting everything in the car? Good luck with it all, and I hope it all sells!

Pauly, how's the weather there? Any cooling going on? We are getting cooler here, and it's OK by me ... seems like it has been way too warm for tow ong here...

PPQ, great job taking over for the boss... on the other hand, when don't you? Glad that you were able to put in a full day, that must feel good. I second Lav's warning about the osteo meds... really bad news, even though the docs push them. There are other options. Meanwhile, carry on with the healing , and whatever you do, forget the laundry and the vacuuming!

I called my boss and told him I couldn't make it to work today because the wind had blown leaves onto my car in the night.

"So? Just wipe them off." he said.

"Well, they're still attached to the tree." I replied.

My son recently came back from Thailand with the sex-change finally done.

I asked him, "What have you changed your name to now ?" and he swished back "Amanda."

Even he got livid though and seemed to go right off it when I instantly replied, "Oh right, I get it... A Man, Duh !"

A guy was nailing his interview when the employer said “well you look great but I see here there was a 7 year gap since your last job, what happened there?”.
The guy says “oh I went to yale”.
The employer: “oh great!! Well you’re hired, you start monday”
Guy: “Yay! I got a yob!”

I spotted an albino dalmatian today.
Well, it was what it needed.

I asked my son, "Why did you punch your sister ?"

"She was playing Christmas music in November," he replied.

People are already complaining about Christmas music and decorations..
SO...I'm already drunk for saint Patricks day.

Greetings folks,

This day has totally gotten away from me, funny when that happens. I have so much to do that I’m basically triaging things - some sh*t can just wait, haha! There will be no housework until sometime next week I think, haha!
The boys did fine last evening, no blood drawn so I consider that a win!!!! The older one is considering going with me on Saturday so I’m waiting to hear back from him. He’s actually fairly helpful at these events, Lol

PQ, smart move at work yesterday. The bosses have no idea what’s going on for the most part anyway.
A little background for you - there was no such diagnosis as ‘osteoporosis’ until the 70’s. It was assumed that brittle bones & fractures were a part of aging. The pharmaceutical companies ‘invented’ the disease because they had developed ‘treatments’. Little did they know their treatments would cause monumental side effects including atypical femur fractures, jaw bone necrosis & other lovely things.
I’ll get you the info for the bone healthy program I’ve been following with zero side effects. It’a all about balancing your diet with alkaline foods, exercise, taking plant based calcium, etc.

Cyn, I feel bad about your closet space. My closet is big & mostly empty, that’s fine with me. YB has all his stuff in closets across the hall, perfect with me.
I have discovered with these craft fairs that I am happy with a few sales because people end up taking my card & contact me at a later date for things. I also send them to my FB page of embroidered stuff. So it’s all good

Mick, we’re getting a light rain tonight followed by some very cold weather. Seems a little early but what can you do?
It’s funny living with all the wildlife running about. It took me a few years to get used to all the night sounds around here. They were kinda freaky at first.
YB is fine, hasn’t gotten his biopsy results yet, it’s been a week & a day.

Mick...bridge on prescription would be great! Of course our new premier would probably cut it. You know I love brussel sprouts but brussel sprout flavoured chips...I don't think so. You are a brave man...takes me forever to go to the dentist and to turn around and go the next day, wouldn't happen. Is all the rest of the dental work finished? Don't I recall that you chipped/broke an implant? We experienced a heat wave today, lots of melting, and the same forecast for tomorrow. Saturday will bring a snowstorm and freezing temps lasting through the weekend, so I'll take your rain instead.

Lav...surprised you haven't posted but I understand, you had to hide the bodies. LOL Get ready, there's a wicked cold front coming your way.

I've been so busy that I've completely forgotten that the boss is away all next week. Early Christmas present for me. LOL Have a great evening all...PPQP
