    Re: Nov 17th

    Hello friends,

Watching my grandsons this evening so I just have a minute.

Hello to Pauly & Mick & everyone else

Mick, you'll like this - my grandson is turning 11 on Thanksgiving Nov 28. We won't be seeing him so I gave him his birthday gift tonight. Guess what he really really wanted? A metal detector, haha!! I found one on Amazon for him, not perfect but good enough to get started on his detecting skills
I hope your back & shoulder heal up sooner than expected, take it easy.

    Have a good night everyone.

    MAE ALL...

Pauly...yup the casserole turned out great. Thanks for that recipe. Hope Monday was good for you.

Mick...so now we get the whole story. LOL Glad the back is ok now you do as your told and don't over do the exercises. Got to get yourself 100% before you joliday.

Lav...I can't believe you're doing another craft fair at the end of the month. Have you got a picture of the lace angels up on your page? I'd like to see those. I think that's great that your grandson wanted a metal detector. At 11 years I could think of a lot of other things he could have asked for.

TG...did you get the little biters dealt with?

It was a very productive day, despite the boss being back. LOL In early tomorrow with more email migrations. We're expecting snow to start around midnight and continue all day. Then temps rising and it should all be gone by the weekend. Have a peaceful night all....PPQP

    Re: Nov 17th

And good afternoon all how are we today? Well after yesterday's massage physio whatever you want to call it it I can't move my left arm hardly even to the extent it is a nightmare trying to type so all this is being done by speaking to my mobile hopefully will ease off it's just that he manipulated it pretty brutal yesterday at the moment I've got a hot water bottle strapped to my shoulder and arm (don't laugh) for the first time I'm actually sat down today and done really nothing apartment one-armed dishwashing
Weather over here today is really cold and frosty it was - 6 last night the rabbits had two hot water bottles and we'll get the same again tonight
Hiya lav well done on getting the metal detector
What kind was it? What are the rules and regulations for metal detecting around where you live I know some parts of America are very strict about it especially near Civil War sites
A big hello to everyone else sorry it's not my name tonight but to be honest I'm struggling you out of it with this lot not the shoulder just this machine trying to understand me even with my posh voice it is difficult haha normal service will be resumed tomorrow take care everyone
af since the fourth of July 2012...howzat then America..now proudly marching into year 5..done that one..now bimbling into year 6..tick ..done that one too..as he casually strolls into numero 7

    Re: Nov 17th

MAE ALL...it's still snowing!!! Started last night around 10:30 and is not supposed to stop till about 10:30 tonight. Thankfully we're sitting around 0, but it does make for a lot of slushy roads.

Pauly...don't remember the last time I bought a pillow. Got a feeling I'm supposed to do it regularly. Oh well. Hope you had a good day.

Mick...sounds like he really did a number on your arm. Maybe that was to prevent you from over exercising. LOL Having the water bottle strapped to your arm probably means you couldn't do any train work today either. Hope it feels better tomorrow.

Lav...saw your light on so was going to wait and then the light went out. You're just one of those come and go gals eh? Did you have the grandkids all night or did they get picked up at some point?

Good day at work, got 5 workstations upgraded with the new email system and everything went without a hitch. Knock wood. Looking forward to unwinding. Have a great night all....PPQP

    Re: Nov 17th

    Good evening Abbers,

It wasn't too awfully cold today, feels about right for this time of year
I have a fridge full of leftovers but YB wanted to go out for a bite to eat. He's getting the leftovers tomorrow, haha!!

PQ, I hope the snowfall isn't too serious.
I'll have to put a pic of the angels up on FB, forgot I guess. Stitched a few more today - they take a long time to stitch, almost 40,000 stitches at 650 stitches/minute.
My grandson was happy with his BD gift even though I told him he has to share his findings with me (just kidding)

Pauly, I've tried every pillow on the planet, I get that neck pain too. The one I'm using now cost me a fortune but it helps a lot. It's zippered with stuffing in each side when you open it plus there's two pillows inside (one large, one small). So you can adjust it to your liking. I take the thing apart & throw it in the dryer to fluff it up from time to time. At this point in my life all I really want is peace & a little comfort, Lol

Mick, sorry you're in such distress. I don't know what you were told but please don't keep heat on your shoulder too long. Eventually the muscles will stiffen up & cause even more problems. Alternating ice & heat is the best way to go I swear.
I don't know of any rules & regulations regarding metal detectors. I highly doubt anyone around here would care one way or the other. We're not close enough to any civil war sites for him to get into trouble. I guess we shall see.

Hello to Cyn & Det & Sam.

Hope everyone has a comfy night!

Q: What's the difference between Johnson and yeltsin?

A: The Russian state has spent more Roubles to get our Boris elected.

“Yes your honour that is a photo of me with a known sex trafficked underage female but heres the situation, I cant even remember it. We cool?”

Watching the televised debate between Johnson and Corbyn and I have now formed my opinion

    telly is sh.t

I said, "Alexa, list all of Donald Trump's lies?" She hasn't shut the fck up for the last 4 days.

Corbyn: So how did it go at the clinic?

    Abbott: Good news, Im negative.

Corbyn: Oh sh.t you thought you had an STD?

Abbott: No, it was an IQ test.

    Memorable Words From Politicians
In the old days -- the time of our parents and grandparents -- politicians said memorable things like:
"We have nothing to fear but fear itself" (FDR) and "You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life." (Winston Churchill).

What do our generation's politicians give us? Well....

"I was under medication when I made the decision not to burn the tapes."
    --President Richard Nixon

"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country."
--Mayor Marion Barry of Washington, D.C.

"I haven't committed a crime. What I did was fail to comply with the law."
--Mayor David Dinkins of New York City, answering accusations that he failed to pay his taxes.

"They gave me a book of checks. They didn't ask for any deposits."
--Congressman Joe Early, at a press conference to answer questions about the House Bank scandal.

"The Holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history... this century's history.... We all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century."
--Dan Quayle, then Indiana senator and Republican vice-presidential candidate during a news conference in which he was asked his opinion of the Holocaust

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
    --President George W. Bush

"The streets are safe in Philadelphia. It's only the people who make them unsafe."
--Frank Rizzo, ex-police chief and mayor of Philadelphia

The new proposed council tax-evaluation policy will mean reassessment of current house values based on living in a nice and desirable areas.

That ought to mean discounts for those of us who live in rough areas.

There is a huge house in our street. The extended family is run by a grumpy old woman with a pack of irritable dogs allowed to run without leads. Her car isn't taxed or insured and doesn't even have a number plate, but the police still do nothing. To the best of my knowledge, she has never worked.

Her bad-tempered old man is notorious for racist comments. A shopkeeper blamed him for arranging the murder of his son and his son's girl-friend, but nothing has been proved.

All their kids have broken marriages except the youngest, who everyone thinks is gay.

Two grandsons are meant to be in the Army but are always out partying in nightclubs. It is not known if they have the same father. They are out of control.

I hate living near Windsor Castle.

There was a height challenged man down in Texas who complained to his buddy that his testicles ached almost all the time. As he was always complaining about his problem, his friend finally suggested that he go to a doctor to see what could be done to relieve the problem. The midget took his advice and went to the doctor and told him what the problem was.

The doctor told him to drop his pants and he would have a look. The midget dropped his pants. The doctor put him up onto the examining table, and started to examine him. The doc put one finger under his left testicle and told the midget to turn his head and cough-the usual method to check for a hernia. "Aha!" the doc and putting his finger under the right testicle, he asked the midget to cough again. "Aha" said the doctor and reached for his surgical scissors!

Snip, snip, snip, snip on the right side then snip, snip, snip, snip, snip, snip, snip on the left side.

The midget was so scared he was afraid to look, but noted with amazement that the snipping did not hurt. The doctor then told the midget to get dressed and see if they still ached.

The midget was absolutely delighted as he walked around the doc's office and discovered his testicles were no longer aching. "Gee, what did you do, Doc" he asked?

The doc replied, "I cut two inches off the tops of your cowboy boots".

    Re: Nov 17th

Good evening Mick & all the missing

Not much happening with me today, spent most of it in my workshop, nice. Warm enough to run out to the chickens or the mailbox without a jacket providing you don't mind being a little cool, haha!

Mick, I will get my grandson to read the link on detecting rules, thanks!
If you continue to rest your arm & shoulder it will heal, even at this advanced age, ugh. I haven't done any hand sewing in many years but 8 stitches per inch sounds pretty good!

Hello to PQ, Pauly, Cyn, Det & anyone else popping in.

    Have a nice night everyone!

    MAE ALL...

Mick...sounds like your arm is getting a little bit better, don't over do it. It quit snowing at 6am. It was warm enough yesterday to change the snow to rain then back to snow and with freezing temps over night everything was covered in ice. Made brushing/scraping off the car quite the chore this morning. We got close to 10" so the chinook arriving tomorrow has it's work cut out for it. We have our Annual General Meeting at work tomorrow so I'll be late getting home.

Lav...early post for you, you must be grandkidless. LOL Have you got a lot of Xmas gifts to embroider or just restocking for the craft sale? I've got a feeling everyone's weather this winter is going to be all over the place.

Pauly...hope you had a good day.

Thinking of you TG, Det and Sam.

It's taco's for supper tonight so must get at it. Have a peaceful evening all....PPQP

Mae all - quick post to say hello and thanks everyone for the news! Mick, darn,,that sounds like a painful, arm injury, so sorry. May it heal as quickly as possible. Lav, those angels sound lovely! I'm amazed that you are doing anothe or show! Pauly, hope, you get your pillow sorted... neck pain is no,fun...PPQ, holy cow, that s a lot of autumn snow! Hope your tacos turned out well!

    Hello to Det and Sam!

Well, I am just now dropping into bed, nearly 11 pm, late for me. All these days have been long - clients,, long drives, have another one tomorrow 2+ hours, this time to help a friend pack. When I'm not cooking or driving/working I am still cleaning. Every inch of this apartment. Still getting bit. Dermatologist says some kind of mite... I must take Ivermectin (which I used to give my dog for flea/tick protection). Dog had to be ruled out for fleas and canine scabies... no and no. So where these are coming from no one can say... just hope to come out the other side of this soon!!

Long day of driving and working tomorrow, so I will wish all well for tomorrow and will catch up again soon...

    Cheers all ---
