    MAE ALL...

Pauly...don't you hate it when your dish turns out watery! I usually try to thicken it and it just ruins it. Not sure what I'm having for supper tonight.

Mick...I would never have thought you and Julie use a fresh food delivery for your meals. I've been thinking of trying one here but have been hesitant to do so. Interesting to hear that it's actually saved you money. I buy my groceries with great intentions and then don't feel like cooking anything. Or I cook the meal with leftovers in mind and they don't get eaten just thrown out. I may have to actually try this out. The wind shifted direction this afternoon and it was down right miserable. Felt like a winter day. Supposed to get nice for the rest of the week and then some snow again on the weekend. Seems like March is coming in like a lamb but I'm worried about it going out like a lion. We have way too many plans for the community garden to be lambasted with snow. I was looking for the "Thread Starter" banner and it's gone. ABcowboy asked the administrators to change the color and the response was they were just testing it out and forgot to take it down. It's gone now.

Det...like Lav said it sounds like you dodged a virus. Your gourmet version of Mac N Cheese sounds good, wish I was more willing to experiment in the kitchen. I'm glad girly is somewhat stable. My son has slipped back into depression and anxiety again. I really feel helpless to help him but at least he's talking about things and trying to deal with it. It's got to be tough going through the feast or famine and I'm so glad that you've got lots of sober time under your belt. It could be awhile before they upload the 3rd party "like/thanks" to the site.

Sam...oh no. You sure got hit hard this last go around. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Lav...I didn't realize the driver was intoxicated and at 8am!!! I hope he gets the book thrown at him. Yes the transporting is going to be difficult but it can be done. Everyone will be better off if he's closer to home. I'm just so sorry you're all going threw this. Hope the rain doesn't stick around, you don't need a yard of mud at this point.

    Wishing everyone a restful evening....PPQP

We're all doing well well was on earlier on today been quite busy not long finished so now it's tea time so Gordon Ramsay is about to make the tea well over here today come and brought to the emergency measures for the coronavirus it seems to be quite drastic over here the measures have been taken and are going to be taken using the army the police recruiting recently retired medical staff need to wait and see what happens Julie's niece is still stuck in South Korea because of school she taught her has been closed because of the virus one of the crazy things over here is this a wash your hands if you can't do that use hand sanitizer but they are out of stock the demand has outstripped the supply big time I'm plus the fact if you look on eBay you see people are selling them at extortionate prices did a bit more than a railway today as well, I've got a new engine coming tomorrow as well hopefully right that's me I'm off to start swearing in the kitchen as good as Gordon does only thing is I will be swearing at myself haha stay safe be good have a great day

    Greetings Abbers,

    Swear free here Mick
Honestly, good old fashioned hand washing with any soap & water will do & keeping your hands away from your face, mouth, eyes, etc. It’s what we’re supposed to be doing during flu season anyway!

PQ, we seem to be getting short storms, heavy rain & wind then the sun comes out & dries things then the rain returns - who knows?
I hope the snow passes you by so you can get the garden going! Sorry about your son’s mood swing. Getting the meds right so his mood is more stable is hard but doable. Hoping for the best!

Last night’s tornado in EF- 3 tornado in Nashville was horrible, 20 some dead. The surrounding area looks like a bomb hit.

Hello to Det & Cyn & Pauly & Sam. Hope everyone is OK.

My son & grandsons arrived home safely this afternoon. Came here for dinner, was happy to see them.
DIL’s Dad is experiencing some post trauma complications, not surprised. She is still there with him. I don’t know who has taken over the classes she was teaching.

    Have a nice night all!

    MAE ALL...

Mick...wow, did you even take a breath with that post? LOL Another engine? We haven't heard about this one have we? So you send more wind this way, thank you very much. Snow again tonight. Was in early to work to reboot the server and finally got things going around noon. Very frustrating day.

Lav...so glad to hear your son and g/kids got back safely. I don't know if it was kneeling to hook up the monitor to the server or sitting waiting for it to boot but I am one sore puppy tonight. I'm starting to see a pattern, with aches and inflammation starting around the 1st of the month and biologic shot not due until the 15th I think I may need some med adjustments. Anyways still achy so short post tonight.

    Have a good night all...PPQP

right folks take care stay safe and well.

So I was in the chemist and I said to the assistant
    “What gets rid of coronavirus?”
    She said "Ammonia cleaner."
I said "Oh sorry, I thought you worked here...”

    TIP OF THE DAY:

Fed up of waiting in long queues?
Want to reduce the amount of time you waste waiting to be served?

Cough loudly and say “It’s got progressively worse since I got back from China”

Where has all this fuss about hand-washing come from?
I wash my hands once a day, every day. Even if they’re not dirty.

I'll never forget the three days that Gordon Ramsey spent trying to mentor and critique our family's inn.

He picked up a plate of food in the kitchen and sampled it, and he said, "Absolute crap, this is fcking dog food !"

"Oh, sorry," I replied, "I forgot to take that in the back and put it on the floor for Fido."

I received my new laptop from China this morning.

I lifted the display and it started coughing and sneezing.

A little old lady named Hannah checked into a motel on her 70th birthday, but she was a bit lonely.

She thought, "I'll call one of those men you see advertised in phone books for escorts and sensual massages".

She looked through the phone book, found a full page ad for a guy calling himself Tender Tony - a very handsome man with assorted physical skills flexing in the photo. He had all the right muscles in all the right places, thick wavy hair, long powerful legs, dazzling smile, six pack abs and she felt quite certain she could bounce a quarter off his well-oiled bottom...

She figured, what the heck, nobody will ever know. She give him a call.

"Good evening, Ma'am, how may I help you"? Oh my, he sounded sooo sexy!

Afraid she would lose her nerve if she hesitated, she rushed right in, "Hi, I hear you give a great massage, I'd like you to come to my motel room and give me one.

No, wait, I should be straight with you. I'm in town all alone and what I really want is sex. I want it hot and I want it now. Bring implements, toys, rubber, leather, whips, everything you've got in your bag of tricks.

We'll go hot and heavy all night - tie me up, cover me in chocolate syrup and whipped cream, anything and everything, I'm ready!! Now how does that sound"?

He said, "That sounds absolutely fantastic, but you need to press 9 for an outside line".

    A: Cheque books she said.

Q: The easiest way to make your old car run better?
A: Check the prices of new car.

Q: What's the difference between a good secretary and a personal secretary?

Boss: We are also keen on truthfulness. There is no mat.

I recently had a visitor from the state of Texas. For three days all I heard from him was "In Texas we have the best this, the largest that, the fastest that," etc. It eventually became very annoying.

I am from Niagara Falls and I thought I could outdo him by showing him the "Magnificent Niagara", knowing there was nothing in Texas that could compare to this "Wonder of Water & Power".

While standing at the brink watching millions of gallons of water rushing over, I noticed the look of awe in his eyes. It was then I asked him: "Do you have anything like this in Texas"?

He waited a moment before he answered: "No, but we have a plumber that could fix it."

    Dispatcher: 9-1-1

Caller: Yeah, I'm having trouble breathing. I'm all out of breath. Darn ...I think I'm going to pass out.

Dispatcher: Sir, where are you calling from?

Caller: I'm at a pay phone. North and Foster.

Dispatcher: Sir, an ambulance is on the way. Are you an asthmatic?

    Caller: No

Dispatcher: What were you doing before you started having trouble breathing?

    Caller: Running from the Police.

A mother asked her small son what he would like for his birthday. "I'd like a little brother", the boy said.

"Oh my, that's such a big wish", said the mother. "Why do you want a little brother"?

"Well", said the boy, "there's only so much I can blame on the dog".

Mae everybody, funny jokes Mick Happy birthday to Julie, that's funny about the 2 cards no envelope, Sam, did your voice come back? Lav, glad son and grandsons made it home safe, hows everyone holding up? PQ, I'm sorry your son is in another down mood I think bi-polar is one of the trickier ones to get the medications right, sometimes people can manage anxiety and depression without meds but bi-polar is another story I think, hugs to you both, clocks change this weekend and I'm freaking out! Can barely wake up now, imagine when we lose an hour sheesh, much love to all and wishes for a great BF Wednesday!
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

    Re: 1 Mar

    Mae all -

Sorry to be away, nutty days as usual, plus a flat tire (tyre) yesterday. The biggest disruption yesterday was getting a call from step-daughter (the COO of a CA Community Health Center) who had a high fever and chills, etc. overnight. So we went into action-planning from afar while she went home, spoke to docs, saw a doc. By evening she was back home; doc believes it is flu and she's picking up a tamiflu prescription. They didn't test her for C-19, which I think is a little strange, except for the fact that she had no respiratory issues. So, hopefully we have dodged that bullet! It did remind me that we need to talk to her once again about a will, health directives, etc. I ask each year, but she never does it. It's time. Hopefully I will have time today to set up a blogpost and get info out to help all interested people.

Mick, I love the image of the rabbits waiting for you at 9 PM each night! Same thing goes on here...

Lav, thanks for the updates. So terrible about the state of the truck driver. Most people don't know the cost to society of alcohol... it really is a huge public health risk, for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. I'd love to see the CDC address that issue!

Hi Pauly, keep protecting yourself... we haven't seen the end of this yet. I did stock our house with some food and water... just in case we have to "shelter in place". Suggesting a menu item below... did it last night and hubs loved it. Take care, and sorry about the wind!

Det, so nice to hear of the strong bond with your lady. Good job circumventing girly! Sending good job vibes to you - it is happening!

Sam, so sorry for the bad bug, sheesh, keep on healing!

PPQ - here's a quick dinner - if you can find turkey cutlets at the store - purchase a little packet of "pancetta" (chopped up Italian bacon, 4 oz), a bunch of Swiss chard, onion, garlic if you want and 1 lb of turkey cutlets (thin sliced turkey breast.) Brown the pancetta, add the chopped onion a little garlic at the end. The cooked chopped greens go in a pot with 1Tb of water - when the bacon mix is done, thrown that in the pot, and steam it with the greens. Done. Then just flash-sauté the turkey cutlets, a few minutes on each side, and serve over the greens. Yum! (If you want to make the greens creamy, add a little sour cream). I had another serving for breakfast thus morning!

OK off to slay the Taxes dragon today, Hell or high water.

PS- Mick, especially loved the Yorkshire health brigade, and the "dial nine" jokes - thanks for the laugh!

    Re: 1 Mar

    Greetings Abbers,

Nice day here sunny & 60 degrees today
Went to Costco to load up on necessities & a few things to put away, just in case we can’t get out (like coffee, haha)
I had no choice but to rip an Amazon seller a new butt hole. I ordered an expensive box of 50 3 ply disposable masks (just liked we used in the hospital0. What they sent me was crappy, single ply masks made in who knows where, not in the uS as advertised. Can’t be bothered sending them back so I’ll use them (doubled up) when cleaning the chicken coop. Look out for shady online sellers taking advantage of us

Mick, please tell Julie happy Birthday from me too! Funny about the card/envelope.
Like you, I have plenty of things to do around here to keep me away from crowds. The US death toll from the virus is now 11. I don’t want to add to the total.

PQ, it sure does sound like you need a med tweak. Changing meds usually helps. It happens more than you think. I hope you feel better very soon & the weather gives you a break.

Pauly, I think my body is getting ready for the time change. I’ve been waking up earlier each morning for about a week, Lol
Getting the extra sunlight is worth it in the end!

Cyn, sorry your SD is dealing with flu. Tamiflu worked wonders on YB so I hope it helps her as well.
I asked my son yesterday if there was any update on the driver. He wasn’t hurt & is reported to have tried to blame the accident on the car he passed like a wild man causing his to swerve into oncoming traffic. Nice try, huh? FL seems to be slow gathering the info they need to press charges against him. I know that would have been done within 24 hrs had it happened up here
I haven’t gotten any updates on DIL’s Dad today so I hope that means he’s stable. Your turkey dish sounds delicious!!

Hello to Det & Sam. Hope you guys are doing well.

    Have a nice night everyone.
I’m going for dental work tomorrow that may involve an extraction or two, pray for me Ha ha!!

    Re: 1 Mar

    MAE ALL...

Mick...I'm surprised you're offering the second card free of charge. Thought you'd save it and use it again next year. Haha It was light but not dry for me this morning. Woke up to a dump of snow but temps increased and most of it melted. Guess we're in for a whollap on Saturday though, up to 5 inches and temps around 14F. Can't decide if March is coming in like a lion or a lamb. Not so achy today, maybe it was a one off. Didn't even stiffen up while playing cards this afternoon. LOL

Pauly...you are so right, managing bi-polar is a challenge but it can be done. He seemed pretty good last night and he's not home at the moment. Perhaps he was able to get into see his therapist, I hope so.

TG...I took my vehicle in for my last free oil and change and when I picked it up they told me there was a nail in one of the tires. Gee, thanks for calling and asking if I wanted it fixed, NOT. So about every 3 weeks I have to add air. My Xmas present, portable air compressor, has paid for itself ten fold. LOL The nail can just stay there till I buy new tires. Hope your SD's diagnosis is correct. I don't know who was talking on the news at one point but said they were concerned about the lack of testing being done in the US. I love swiss chard but have never tried pancetta. This recipe sounds ace so thanks I'll be trying it out. Good luck with the slaying. LOL

Lav...never even thought of stocking up on coffee! Guess since it's like a staple I don't think of it but will now. I'm not an Amazon shopper and he deserved a new butt hole. It's so sad how some people take advantage during crisis's. I think it's disgusting. So on the med front this is my 4th different biologic. Dr said after this it would be transfusions in the hospital once a month, don't want to go there. I do feel there is more I could be doing diet/exercise wise. I'm just extremely paranoid with any new aches/pains after the fractured ribs! I hope your DIL's Dad is stable too, they've got a long road ahead of them. I just bet that driver is blaming everything and everyone he can, he's facing manslaughter charges as far as I can see.

    Here you go....p.jpg
Shout out to Det and Sam. Hope we all have a good night....PPQP

Don't know why I'm getting the thumbnail but I give up trying to edit this post any more. LOL
