    MAE ALL...

Into work this morning and one of the childcare staff asked for some time to go over procedures for childcare. After that was done I couldn't wrap my head around working on the new software so I came home. LOL

Mick...just read your post without taking a breath. Barely made it through. Good thing I didn't bash in the monitor because when I went into work yesterday the answer came to me. LOL Aren't you lucky, the minute it quits raining you get to cut grass twice!! Hope Julie's dad is doing ok. Your comment about the deformed chicken made me think of this

Lav...we're at 89F today and still under the heat warning. I'm grateful I have A/C. How long will it take for the chicks to arrive? I'm trying to remember, is it frozen watermelon that you make for a treat? We could all probably use some.

Pauly...I just don't know how you survive in that heat. Could that have something to do with your lack of sleep? Good plan on not making deliveries and just getting yours. It's hamburgers for supper tonight.

Det...I think you have way too much on your plate right now to learn bridge. There's some basic rules and then you can get into all kinds of conventions. I play what we call "kitchen" bridge using the basic rules and having fun. Of course learning to score is a whole other issue. Some people never do try to figure it out. LOL A fashion shoot...big change from shooting empty houses. It must have been fun if the heat didn't bother you.

Going to go find something in the fridge for my lunch. Have a great day all....PPQP

    Greetings Abbers,

Because I was still lying awake at 1:30 am I heard a text message come in on my phone. When i looked at it this morning it was a message from my traveling chicks - they had just checked into the PO in St. Paul, MN, haha!!! I imagine they will be here in the morning & I am ready

Pauly, it is the moon keeping us awake & there’s just nothing we can do. I change my sleep supplements from time to time but nothing ever helps with teh moon phases. We’re screwed, LOL

Mick, glad to hear ypu finally have a dry day to get caught up with the lawn work. Things are actually pretty dry here so we could use a bit of rain.....just a bit.
Our news is reporting the bar scenes are responsible for the current uptick in Covid cases. Damn good thing we don’t go to bars, right? If the 20 & 30 year olds wantto fill hospital beds they’re foolish!

Det, several years ago I found an online source for garlic bulbs to grow. Can’t remember the name of it at the moment but that’s where i found the Greman garlic. It’s good & doesn’t create the heartburn that white garlic does. Crazy huh? Good luck with your photoshoots. Don’t teh models sweat in all that heat??? I sure would, Lol

PQ, sorry you’re getting our weather but I’m telling ya we’re sick of it!!!
I imagine the chicks will be here Thursday morning. The big girls are enjoying watermelon refrigerated or frozen, they;re not fussy

Greetings to PIe, Sam & Cyn!

    Have a nice night all!

Wow, I thought this thread had ended and many of you had left MWO long ago. When I sign on, I always see the new posts since I last signed on and yesterday was the first time in months I saw this one. I'm so glad to see you guys are still here!

I let my paid subscription lapse several months ago and just renewed it yesterday. I wonder if that somehow is related ???

Arnold and his wife were cleaning out the attic one day when he came across a ticket from the local shoe repair shop. The date stamped on the ticket showed that it was over eleven years old.

They both laughed and tried to remember which of them might have forgotten to pick up a pair of shoes over a decade ago.

"Do you think the shoes will still be in the shop" Arnold asked?

"Not very likely", his wife said." It's worth a try", Arnold said, pocketing the ticket. He went downstairs, hopped into the car, and drove to the store. With a straight face, he handed the ticket to the man behind the counter.

With a face just as straight, the man said, "Just a minute. I'll have to look for these." He disappeared into a dark corner at the back of the shop. Two minutes later, the man called out, "Here they are"!

"No kidding?" Arnold called back. "That's terrific! Who would have thought they'd still be here after all this time".

The man came back to the counter, empty-handed. "They'll be ready Thursday", he said calmly.

"My dog ate it", was his solemn response.

"It's true, Miss Martin, I swear", insisted Johnny.

"I had to force him, but he ate it"!

His grandfather replied...."those plates are as clean as cold water can get them so go on and finish your meal".

That afternoon, while eating the hamburgers his grandfather made for lunch, he noticed tiny specks around the edge of his plate, and a substance that looked like dried egg yokes. So he asked again, "Are you sure these plates are clean"?

Without looking up from his hamburger, the grandfather says, "I told you before, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them, now don't ask me about it anymore"!

Later that afternoon, as he was on his way out to get the paper, the dog started to growl and would not let him pass. "Grandfather, your dog won't let me out", he complained.

Next the giraffe complained, "Lord, I HATE THIS LONG NECK! It makes me top heavy, I get terrible neck pains, and people laugh at me"!

The Lord said, "Don't complain. It lets you pick the best fruit and leaves from the high branches, and allows you to see a distance".

    Re: July 26

    Greetings all,

My new chicks are here & look happy. They’ve been stuffing themselves & slugging down the electrolyte water called Quik-Chick all day, haha!!!
The hatchery always adds an extra ‘mystery’ chick so you have to wait until they grow a bit to figure out the breed. It’s always exciting driving home from the PO listening to the peeps of 16 chicks
Other than that, nothing new, still too hot & yucky here. That all may change as there’s a possible hurricane brewing up, we shall see.

NS, good to see you here! Truly this thread has been around even longer than me, Lol
Stick around with us, we’re just fabulous!!

Pauly, I switch around between Alteril, Melodyn & toss in Benadryl most times because my allergies are so ridiculous. Between the heat & my own hot flashes sleeping in the summer months just doesn’t happen even though my house is cooled down to 68 degrees. No caffeine involved (only have half-caf in the morning). When the darkness of winter & the cold temps Get here my hot flashes subside so the supplements help EXCEPT when the moon is getting close to being full. In other words, I’ve given up worrying about sleep after all these years, haha!!

Mick, I’m sure glad the chicks made it here faster than your computer, geez. That’s a pretty long trip from Iowa to my location in PA.
I don’t know how anyone can actually sleep right now with all the BS going on in the world, sad.

Hello PQ & Det, hope your day was good!
Hello to Pie, Sam & Cyn!

Mae everybody, Det glad your shoot went well poor thing to hafta be all made up in the heat, that's why I'm liking the make cuz I just do my eye makeup and I'm good to go haha! Lav, yea I think it was moon related cuz it seems better now, although I should knock on wood cuz that's just how it is, watched DT's fill in yesterday and even tho he just had someone close to his campaign or whatever die from covid he still downplays it, tbh I kind of liked the downplay just to get through and not run around freaked out but it just seems like it's unstoppable and it scares me, I'm also wondering why we can't just vote online? It's done in a computer at the place anyways, after having Kells dogs for a couple of days I want a puppy again, yet I'm reluctant to take on the responsibility, Spencer was everywhere and alot to keep up with, I still put some things up high cuz I'm used to him chewing everything up, PQ, I'm making turkey and cheese sliders on Hawaiian rolls, cheap, easy and good! Made turkey burgers last night and almost barfed, hubs too so no more alternative meats for us! Much love to the gang and wishes for a great BF Fryday for us all!!
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!
