    Re: 6th December

Mae all - who, old and windy here today... I am not handling the cold very well this year... on the other hand, I'm not really wearing winter clothes (have to go to far storage) so that figures I guess. Yesterday was beautiful golden side-light sun and no wind... today, nope.

Thanks Lav, I am still very unsettled about the job, but for now it helps the bottom line, (even tho part time) and I guess I'll cope eventually. I am a cranky person because I am always looking for something that I know is here SOMEWHERE. Ah well, this too shall pass. Catching up on the work...

Mick, do the deer bother anything? I love seeing them... at our old house we had twins that came in the spring and adopted us... right now is hunting season, and I hate to hear the sound of the shots. I know it's to cull the herd and it's better, still...

PPQ, thank goodness you are okay... that sounded pretty iffy. Thank goodness for drugs, eh?

Sam, yes, what a strange world... to worry about being with people. I had to make an appointment at the local library to get in and use the printer... felt very odd.

Pauly, how's things? Hope all is well with puppy and family... are you decorating this year?

Det, sure hope you drop back in and let us know how you are... sending you light...

Well, I had a truly bad dream last night ... the kind where you are in danger and trying to scare the person off, but your voice makes no sound? Sheesh! And then once I really woke up, I heard tapping, and I figure it was mouse frolicking in the attic above... oh well!

Must count the days to Solstice... looking forward to more light each day soon...

    Wishing all well...

    Re: 6th December

    Good evening friends,

Spent the afternoon baking cookies (to be decorated tomorrow or whenever) & made a pot of white turkey chili, not bad. Iíll be needing a few Tums soon, haha!

PQ, glad youíre feeling better & I totally get you with the new allergies coming out of no where. Remember what I dealt with 2 years ago looking like a fried lobster, ugh. Did you wash that mask with something that may have caused a reaction? Iíve only used 100% cotton fabrics that I prewash before sewing masks. I use ALL allergy free for washing everything these days so I donít react to perfumes or fabric dyes. If you want to try some disposable masks let me know, I can get some to you easy enough.

Mick, we are supposed to have snow showers tomorrow. Weíve had enough rain & resulting mud.
Our news actually showed video of the older lady getting the 1st vaccine & William Shakespeare getting the 2nd, LOL

Sam, itís definitely chilly up here!!
Hope your deed search was OK. I fear getting too close. To people these days, geez.
My young chickens are a mix of several breeds, all lightweights from what I can see. Iím so used to having the bigger & heavier Buff Orpingtons who try but just canít get off the ground, haha! I ordered these chicks online from Mc Murrayís hatchery & they sent me what they had available at the time. Several of them are white egg layers, my first. We are getting a few baby size eggs everyday too.

Cyn, hope you are doing OK, thinking of you!

Hello to Pauly & Det, check in when you can please.

    Have a decent night everyone!

    Re: 6th December

    MAE ALL...

Mick...I hope the peskies behaved themselves yesterday and didn't do any digging. I was wondering how you were getting on with the shingles, sounds like you're getting there. Rash is improving daily, at least it's not itchy. One of my coworkers suggested Benadryl cream so I might give that a try. Popped into the office to pick up a few things as provincially we are now under mandatory work from home orders. We're not back to work till Jan 11th now. I will not work during my 2 week break though.

Sam...you wouldn't think the rash has improved judging by the reaction of my coworkers this morning. LOL Rural, urban it doesn't seem to matter with this virus. Hopefully this vaccine will make a big difference.

Lav...how's the wing clipping going? Have enough of them hopped the fence that you're finished. LOL Now that you mention it I do remember the fried lobster. Did you find out what it was? I'm not wearing cloth masks, just the blue & white medical ones. Price was right, they were free. Son asked me how long I'd been wearing mine and couldn't remember the last time I put a new one on. Stocked up on them when I popped into work this morning so I will definitely be disposing of them after use. I watched the same news video about the 1st and 2nd vaccine doses.

TG...I hope your week is going better than the last one. You have dealt with a lot, and totally deserved checking out for awhile. I seemed to have a few more lights on in the old noggin today LOL, would those be Christmas lights? Blood in your eye, scary! Wonder why that happened. So that makes 3 of us, Mick, you and me, too bad Halloween is over.

Shout out to Det, Pi and Pauly.

For some reason I feel better knowing that everyone is mandated to work from home. Usually when someone says I'm working from home my first thought is ya sure, but not anymore. LOL At least we have some direction now since we weren't getting anything from the boss. Our gorgeous weather is coming to an end, reality to set in. It started snowing around midnight so we got a good dump of it. However the temp is sitting just around freezing so most has turned to slush, makes for some interesting driving. Wishing everyone a great BF Wednesday....PPQP

    Re: 6th December

    Good evening folks,

We did get some snow flurries this afternoon while I was attempting to decorate the cookies I baked yesterday. I think the kids would eat anything so I’m not too concerned about the way they look, haha!!
Heard from another one of my old work friends today, she’s feeling sick & getting tested tomorrow. Our governor announced he’s positive as well, ugh. It’s going to get all of us sooner or later I think.

Mick, I never knew where ‘P & Qs’ came from, now I do Lol
The allergist I saw a few years ago said to get rid of all the usual soaps I use & use only Cerave. It’s helped a lot. No more reactions.

PQ, I saw the allergist & told her I thought I was reacting to something chemical in nature. She put all those test patches on my back (which itched like hell). But I did find out I am allergic to 3 different chemicals used in soaps, shampoos, etc. Obviously these are acquired allergies, not something I’ve had all my life. It’s all about getting OLDER, oh well.
Let me give you a hint about the disposable masks: They are meant for one time use only! I often use them too but dispose them after 1 day. I carry a plastic bag in my purse to hold the mask if I remove it To eat or drink anything when I’m out. Remember when you touch the outside of your mask you are touching any cooties the mask may have blocked so be sure to wash your hands well afterwards. I’m leery about some of the cleaners & sprays people & places are using to disinfect surfaces. I’m sure I’m probably allergic to most of them.
Glad you can stay home to work & stay safe!!! Hope the snow is not too big of a pain

heading to the mountains today to mark the property line where loggers cut over on the neighbor so he's suing.... can't wait. I'm sure there's lap laying everywhere. gonna be a long day. The directions to this place will probably result in getting lost at least a couple times.

    Re: 6th December

    Mae all,

Quick hello --- yesterday was a long work day, Multiple zoom calls. I find them very tiring. Doggy went to the vet again, but the news was ok, and I have a couple of different herbals to start using. So glad my vet is also a TCM practitioner, she can heal in many different ways.

Lav, thanks for the reminder about the masks... I always wear one, but forget to be careful about hands. Hope those cookies turned out! I've been trying to move to the Wahl's protocol eating plan, but have to get used to so many greens, yikes. I find that in this winter weather I just want warm comfort food, so I'm throwing tons of veggies and greens into the excellent chicken soup the IP made the others day (with a little help from me...)

Mick, so glad to hear you are better, but yikes, still shooting pains? Hope those go away soon. Greetings to the Peskies.

PPQ, glad you can work from home... especially while you heal. We got lots of snow spitting yesterday, but not much stuck on the ground. Looks like rain this weekend... I prefer snow!

Sam, I hope your day isn't as bad as you think, but it does sound really pretty gnarly. Wishing you no getting lost.

Pauly? Det? Would love to hear how you are doing... sending lots of light and support.

well, because of the work decisions I have made, things are not turning out to be a reflective, calm, wintertime. But I am trying to be okay with that... this new "part-time" job is taking the starch out of me... big learning curve and very public-facing, so I better put my big girl panties on and get the job done. Hopefully January will bring some reflective time.

I am still looking forward to the coming light... though for now I will try to pull in as much physical and spiritual light as I can... loving the holiday lights around...

    Wishing all well -

Hello all and how are we today then? Hope all is well with everyone. Did a bit of work in the garden this morning, but had to stop my arm was really really sore it is absolutely crazy and yet it has eased off now. It is pretty frustrating, you want to do so much and yet there is no visible sign save a few spots that are healing of any injury and to be honest I'm not the world's best patient

Hello tree girl how are you today then? Zoom calls? I've still not worked out Skype yet. Glad the dog was ok. Yes still getting a shooting pains it is from the nerves I know it is just part of the fun. You will be fine I have every confidence in you I have seen your posts on Facebook I know what type of person you are... believe in yourself.

Hello Sam and how are you today then? What are the mountains you are heading for is it the Blue Ridge Mountains ? if so watch out for Laurel and Hardy !have a nice day despite it being a long one

Hiya ppqp glad you are feeling better as you say I doubt if we could make something up between the three of us as a whole body haha as you see when everyone is working from home together it is a different story when someone is doing it on their own it is like a Dodge to get out of work you take care and look after yourself

    Hiya lav
And how are you today ? hope all is well ...as far as the masks go, mine are reusable it's the head that's disposable. See you learn lots of things on here to store away in the that's really crap information box you take care

Right folks I have done this on my phone so I will post up some jokes later on take care everyone 1-day safe sober and sensible

    Re: 6th December

    Good evening friends,

Chilly again today butheading up to near 60 the next 3 days. I honestly don’t know what to wear, haha!!!
Our governor announced as of Saturday there will be no indoor dinng because the case numbers continue to rise. These changes aretostay in effect until Jan 4. Sad time for the restuarant owners, no holiday business. I Honestly think it is a necessary thing, unfortunately.

Sam, hope your found your property lines OK. At least there’s no poison ivyto deal with this time of year, haha!

Cyn, yeah we have to remember the outside of our masks are considered contaminated & shouldn’t touch them. I remember all this from my nursing education & practice but trying to get othefrs to remember is a challenge. I just now ran across a new 3D mask pattern so I’m going to make a few,, maybe you can tets one for me
I love all green foods but tghey need to be cooked these days. I seem to have a low tolerance for raw foods any more. I toss just about anything in a pot of soup, yum
Hope your pup is feeling better!

Mick, I sure hope that nerve pain clears up soon, it must be tiring.
I’m going to see if I can get an order in for fresh made Polish kielbasa tomorrow. A butcher from Lancaster County come down to our local Amish village shops 3 days/week. He makes it almost as good as a real Polski, lol. I usually get him to make 5 lbs or so & share it with the kids, cook some for us too of course for Christmas. I doubt we will be doing much gathering this year, if any.

Hello to PQ, Det, Pualy & Pie. Hope everyone is OK.

Back to my workshop for a while tonight, I am also sewing some scrub caps for nurses with Christmas fabrics.
    Have a nice night everyone!

    Re: 6th December

    MAE ALL...

Lav...it's all coming back to me, all those patches on your back. I have learned my lesson with the disposable masks and scooped up a month's supply when I went into work yesterday. I am very cautious about the outside of the mask and have always used the ear loops to take off/put on. I cringe every time I see someone pinch the front of their mask to move it up above their nose. Same situation here with the restaurants but in effect till Jan 11. A 3D mask pattern...I'll be watching for a pic. Don't sew to long tonight.

Sam...hope you made it to the neighbours property line ok. If he's suing does that mean you will have to appear in court?

TG...I agree that Zoom calls are tiring. Glad doggy is doing better. I prefer snow over rain too. No more snow in the next week other than some spitting as you put it. Temps are dropping though so must remember to dress accordingly if I go out. Deep breaths, I know you can get through this new "part-time" job.

Mick...I can't believe you're still puttzing in the garden. Sorry you're still getting the shooting pain. I actually had a productive day workwise. Turns out the software I use for the membership database has a Corporate Membership module, the latest project I've been tasked with. Of course now I have to make it do what I want it to. LOL Loved the day 266 and no tomatoes yet pic.

I hope Det, Pi and Pauly check in soon even if it's a quick hi.

Time to shut the computer down and relax. Have a peaceful night all...PPQP
