Gotta say the workshops I took during my holidays are really working...nothing is fazing me. LOL First day back for the kiddies and aside from a couple of hiccups things went well. Of course there's always a drama queen in the mix. It is nice to be back to a new and improved routine.

Mick...just shook my head at the difference in insurance quotes, glad you got it sorted. Was the old van a trade in for the new or do you still have to sell it? Hope the weather holds up for your jaunt next Thursday.

Lav...was thinking of you today and glad you were able to get to your scan and back safely. When will you know the results? I had a good day with no complaints, hope it continues. Have you heard anything from Cyn? I'm a little worried about her. If you get an update would you let us know please? You stay safely hidden in your basement.

Hiya all how everyone is safe and well. I've seen some of the pics of the storms over there.. back is still playing up but it is getting better..it's a case of patience.. and I've got tunz of it. Went up to check the measurements on the new van this morning.

Good evening friends,

We lucked out, no damage here but we did end up with a whopping 7.75” of rain!!!!!!
The chicken yard flooded a bit but they were all safe inside. A tornado touched down up near town about 5 miles from here & ripped apart 9 homes, 7 of them are now condemned. Lots of roads closed due to trees & power lines down. The schools were closed today due to the bad roads & no power. Crazy stuff! Lots of flattened cornfields & even one of the local covered bridges disappeared in the wind, OMG!
There was a total of 7 tornadoes in this & surrounding counties. Lots & lots of flooding of course. What a mess. I feel lucky we still have our roof & siding, geez.

PQ, glad your school opening went well
I have not heard from Cyn & am concerned as well. Sure hope she is OK.

Mick, hope your back eases up soon. My daughter is nursing a back pull herself & was told to stay home from work today. Funny because work is where she likely pulled a muscle moving an enormous patient around, haha. We took a drive around this morning to check out some storm damage - it was pretty bad in some areas. Roads are closed & will be for a few days I imagine. I’m sure you’re anxious to get your new van

Well that was a busy jam packed day of questions. At one point I had 3 people at my desk waiting their turn. LOL Boss has been on his best behaviour, with me anyways. I think Childcare is ready to string him up.

Mick...I can just picture you with your ruler, pencil and paper. LOL Bet you can hardly wait to park her in the driveway. Sorry your back is still acting up but glad to hear you've got lots of patience.

Lav...I've been seeing the pictures too and was so glad to see your post today. I'm glad everyone is safe and sound. If this was summer I wonder what winter will bring. I believe it's moving out and now you have to deal with the aftermath. I'm keeping good thoughts of TG and I hope we hear something soon.

Better day, no wicked storms to deal with, thank goodness. We have been blessed with honest to God cool weather. It’s 70 degrees now, down in the 50’s at night - woo hoo!!!!! Mostly the awful humidity is GONE, haha! Never left the premises today, just putzed around. Made a batch of granola this afternoon too

PQ, the NWS designated our tornado as an EF-2 with 115 mph winds!! No wonder there was so much destruction where it touched down. I don’t want to see another one of those, that’s for sure.
If the boss is being ‘nice’ because he wants you to pick up more work - the answer is NO!

Mick, sorry about the back issues continuing. My daughter is still home resting hers as well. Takes time to get full relief.
This is Labor Day weekend, a 3 day weekend that means absolutely nothing to me anymore haha! We’re being advised to avoid gatherings because the Delta variant is sickening so many people. And still there’s a huge number of people refusing the vaccines, dumbasses

Well our Premiere finally made an appearance after 3 weeks and implemented the mask mandate for public indoor spaces. Stop serving alcohol after 10pm. Too little too late. We went from 300 cases a day to 1300 a day after he declared covid was over and lifted all restrictions July 1st. Gotta support that Stampede don't you know. They are now paying people $100 to get vaccinated. That's it punish those who follow the rules and reward those who don't. And we have another 2 years of this BS.

Mick...takes a long time to heal with back pain. Hope you can find a happy medium between sitting and exercise. Hang in, it will get better. With the reinstatement of the mask mandate the boss made a comment that he may have to postpone programs. OMG, if that's the case we should let the program coordinator go, she's just taking up oxygen. With my new attitude I don't care. Do what you want and I hope you hang yourself.

Lav...when I was living in Duchess we had what is called a "horizontal wind surge" at 90 mph and I couldn't believe the noise (and destruction) it caused. I thought the world was coming to an end. Can't imagine going through an EF-2! Yup, I've got that 2 letter word down pact. My new "motto" is If you've got a problem with something I'm here to help but I'm not doing your work for you. Watching the news and the City of Calgary just reinstated a local state of emergency. At least the City can now allocate resources and funding to our health care workers, the provincial government cancelled all vacations and wants to reduce their wages by 3%. Labour Day weekend for me too and it means absolutely everything to me. LOL I finally get my TGIF feeling back again.

Hiya all how are things with y'all.. hope all is well with you. Was going to go metal detecting tomorrow but decided against it. Just in case it goes a bit press shaped and I can't pick up the van on Tuesday. So it's a lazy weekend for me.

Hiya lav..Happy Labour weekend to you even though it means nowt to you.its the same one here with regards to the delta variant though its the younger population that are getting it..and most. Even with that there are still loads not going for the jabs take care and have a good weekend

Hiya ppqp how are you today then?sounds like you are going through the same rubbish as we did.the stampede..yep we had horse racing football and other crap that caused no end of issues. In fact we had a concert that they let go ahead..and 4700positives were attributed to it.so if you have no programmes why do you need a Co ordinator I like your attitude..yes I ll help but I'm not doing your job. There are quite a few that would happily let you do that. Have a nice weekend and take care.

Wall to wall sunshine today with a high temp of 75 degrees, very nice
I’m choosing to stay out of crowds until this Delta variant moves outta here. I still can’t believe how many ignorants are refusing to get vaccinated (including my nephew & his wife who has MS). How stupid is that? And they spend a lot of time around their young grandson who is only 2 or 3. I will be blocking their FB feeds later, I’m tired of reading their BS.
Every time we got to Costco YB buys a big container of hummus. I love it but don’t eat it because chick peas are on the list of acidic foods (bad for your bones). I made a batch of white bean hummus for myself this afternoon which is alkaline & I won’t share it with anyone haha!!!

PQ, this pandemic is going to D R A G on way longer that it needs to because of community ignorance & the officials bowing to the calls for the almighty dollar - you know what I mean?
Sometimes I wonder if we’ll ever be rid of covid at this rate.
There’s an old Polish saying that I find very useful at certain times: “Not my circus, not my monkeys” I think that applies to your program coordinator LOL

Mick, keep resting the back because you know you’ll need it some day. My daughter is reporting hers is 90% better today after a few days of rest.

Mick...good decision on the metal detecting, no need to temp Murphy's Law. Your back will appreciate the lazy weekend. I am disappointed in the way our community association represents itself to the community but have realized it's out of my control. The boss will have to account for his decisions to the board. I like my new attitude too.

Lav...nice to hear the weather is to your satisfaction. LOL I'm with you, I won't be in any crowds anywhere. I too have family members who won't get vaccinated, their choice, and my choice is not to socialize with them. At least they don't have kids. I'm glad you're blocking their FB.
