Re: Feb 27
Hello everyone and how are we today then question mark hope all is well well. I'm waiting on a phone call from car accessory shop so stop it is Julie's birthday today and my butt hurt personalised plates so I got them made this morning just waiting to go and pick them up now the lady said she phone me when they're ready. Just been to the dentist this morning, said I had excellent teeth not really surprised considering they made a really sunny d over here today again, most of them! A sunny day over here, bit chilly but nevertheless it's nice to have no rain NZ. I've got some work to do in the garden tomorrow, but got to go and pick up 10 25kg bags of Stone. 24 days until Julie leaves work, she can't wait it's quite sad really considering all this time she has pretend she always like going to work I was loved your job but this last year has been absolute rubbish not Nestlé just wear the virus and all the things going on with it, but the complete inadequacy and uselessness of those supposed to be running government services. He has got a meeting on Monday with yet another care company who are coming to do the risk assessment she sounds quite positive and they'll all the Care Quality Commission reports are very very positive.
Hiya ppqp welcome to not only the land of no sleep but also the Academy of not too hot on computer skills either! There are quite a few of us in that one. Yes I got one of those fitness band that tell you how much sleep you're doing how much stress is causing you how much this how much that how much the next thing blah blah blah blah it is now in its box to be returned to Amazon. I need something simple like my Fitbit how many steps I've done how many calories I've used how many miles I've walked and what time it is apart from that that ain't too worried about the rest. Hope the garden meeting got rescheduled! Take care have a great day
Hiya lav and how are you then question mark hope all is well with you yes you blow me of done that Drive taking the kids with them as a holiday etc but guess what your daughter ain't so daft sitting at home to feed the animals no answering back no zooming about like a lunatic no Mum I want scenarios guess what I know where my money is for having a holiday! Never thought of myself as a baby boomer but yep that's us! The days of the flowerpot men Woodstock The Beatles flowers all that sort of stuff yes today is followed up with yet another no rainy day let's hope the weekend is the same take care and have a good one
Hiya teegee and how are you today then? Glad you've got a lot more energy today and yes yet another member of the computer classes we are doing pretty good between a lot of us Julie and I were just talking about this last night we are not very techy minded she said well Amy could probably set all this lot about 10 seconds my reply was I can still do my multiplication tables in my head so when the machines breakdown I will still be ok. What are you up to this weekend question mark staying at home or on another journey? Whatever you do take care look after yourself
Hiya pauly how are you doing
I am doing this talking to my phone as no doubt you will guess I will correct all the mistakes after full stop take care look after yourselves
My thoughts are with those in the Ukraine also thanks to the Polish people who are doing an amazing job of helping them

Re: Feb 27
Greetings friends!
Sunny but cold today. It was only 17 degrees this morning but it warmed up a bit. Can’t wait for the Sunday/Monday warmth.
Went to the gas station nearest my house today which happens to be in Maryland where they have cheaper gas. I spent $38 for 9.5 gallons of gas. At this rate we may have to saddle up the horses to go anywhere. I know it’s going to get worse considering everything going on. My heart is hurting for Ukraine, wish we could do more for them.
PQ, sounds like a busy day for you. Makes the time fly by faster that way, haha.
When I put something in the oven & set the timer sometimes the timer turns itself off, LOL. Then I have to guess how long my dish has been in the oven. Annoying to say the least.
I hope you got caught up at work & can enjoy the weekend.
Mick, I think I got the gist of your post even with all the extra words.
Did you get all those bags of stone home OK? I imagine Julie must be excited her retirement date is fast approaching. Being your own boss is much better, haha!
I hope the home care company comes thru for you guys. Do you have anything like Adult Daycare centers? They are few & far between over here but very helpful for families. I looked into opening one many years ago but the regulations were a bit over the top for me. Providing a safe place for older adults shouldn’t be so difficult.
Hello to Cyn, Pauly & Det & Sam.
Have a nice night all.

MAE ALL...
Mick...like Lav I think I got the gist of all that. LOL How did Julie like her personalized plates? Can you tell us what it said? Glad to hear your teeth are excellent, better than have to redo this implant. I'm excited about Julie's retirement and counting down with her. Hope the meeting on Monday is a winner. I'm glad your fitness band is now back in the box, who needs all that chatter going on. Garden meeting went ahead, took about an hour but was very useful getting us ready for our AGM on the 17th. Just didn't need it on top of everything else.
Lav...saw your light on earlier so waited until your post appeared. Gas prices are through the roof here as well, only problem is I don't have my horse anymore. You've got the same timer as me! That's harder to deal with than the oven not turning on in the first place. LOL Usually the busy days making the day go faster is a nice feeling but not lately. Too many deadlines to meet for example, before I can submit the ad for our community cleanup event to the newsletter I have to have it approved by the city and before I can do that I actually have to put all the info on the website. I am actually going into work tomorrow to make sure I meet these deadlines. I can get a full days work done in 2 hrs if I'm on my own. I will also be going in on Sunday as we have our first event and will open the building and then meet with the caterer. I want them to come in and put the kitchen back together. Nothing has been done since the fire last April!
Shout out to the rest of the gang. It's homemade hamburgers for supper tonight so should get started. Have a good night all....

Mae all - I think I saw everyone’s post, but doing this on my phone has me a little confused.
It’s Friday night here, and I don’t think I’ll be able to stay up much longer ...(and it’s only 8:15! Oh well, didn’t sleep much last night...
Mick good job on Julie’s bday! And good luck to her in this next company for her Dad... hope it works.
Lav - tarantulas??!!??!! I knew that chick was strange, but holy cow! I am with you in the thinking about sending light to Ukraine... What a situation... brave souls.
PPQ, sounds like things are hopping at work. Good job! Sorry about the oven issues.. I am getting used to a new stove - electric.., I worry that I can’t remember which burners are still hot... good luck!
How are things going, Pauly? Hello to Det and Sam. Wishing all well in this time of the new moon... I saw a tiny sliver of it last night...
Can barely keep my eyes open, so will sign off now... take care all...

hiya ppqp hows you then ? hope all is well .glad you got the gist of the message ...I need a Scottish phone ..her plate is JU11EPZ (Julie Pz)...best of luck for your do this weekend hope it all goes well for you .
hiya Lav ...how are you then ? hope all is good ..fuel has shot up in price over here too ..£1.69 per litre .plus they are talking about increasing energy prices ..what really hacks me off is all these price increases at the pumps, and yet all the big conglomerates are declaring massive profits ..Yes we do have adult day care centres ...but her dad has never been a socialite ..Herod was more popular at parties .he always has preferred his own company..no hobbies or interests ..his life has always been around going for a drink playing cards etc.Hopefully Monday may give us some respite .hope you have a good weekend ..

Re: Feb 27
Greetings friends,
Had a half decent day here so we went to the garden store. Nothing much available in plants yet but I did pick up some stargazer lily bulbs. And YB picked up no less than 20 bags of cow manure - not sure what he does with all that hahha! I made some tasty vegan meatballs for dinners. Black beans & walnuts provide the protein, oat flour holds them together with a lot of seasoning - yum
PQ, glad you escaped Saturday work to get outside, good for you!
We stopped at that same gas station today so YB could fill up his truck. They increased the price to $3.99/gal just since I was there yestreday. I didn’t even ask how much it was to fill up his gas tank, ugh.
Ihope the rest of your weekend goes well & the nice wetaher sticks around for you.
Cyn, hope you have rested up since last evening. I am finally sleeping better, grateful.
Yes, my DIL is raising tarantulas in their dining room!!!! Gross, huh? She sells them at those creepy reptile shows they have somewhere.
The bad news just keeps coming out of Ukraine, I just keep praying & donating as I can.
Mick, I would like to hire you to do all the heavy lifting around here, haha!! Geez, you are the real energizer bunny!!!
We really need to stop buying Russian oil, sanctions are sanctions & we need to stop lining the pockets of the oligarchs. You have to hit them where it hurts the most - the wallet.
I hope Julie liked her new tag - that’s pretty cool.
Hello to the missing - Pauly, Det & Sam.
Have a nice night all!

Re: Feb 27
Mae all -
Glad to hear that all are well and chugging along. Weather here has been quite stormy - there were several tornado alerts yesterday, and the storm sirens really set me on edge. I had forgotten (my “new” home being the home of my childhood) that we are also home to SAC - strategic air command. I read in some Times article about the commanders in residence there, and that 1 of the nuclear-proof planes is always in the sky... somehow it brings the conflict closer. My nephew (Navy Seal commander, working part-time now) has a history of severe PTSD from war battles, so I am praying that he is staying centered (he’s the one with cancer - likely caused by the “burn pits” he was exposed to in war.) I am headed there next week to be support for the family.
So, working long hours here to get things “done and dusted” as one of our thread-mates used to say... taxes, work projects, etc.
Mick - great present for Julie! And she is a master at upgrades! Good luck to you both with her dad...
PPQ - sounds like you have seen plenty of doctors - glad things are coming along...
Lav - how wonderful for you to see both kids and all grandkids in one day - bonus -
Hello to all that drop by - Pauly, how’s things? Det and Sam, hope you are well —
Wishing all safety and health.
