    Re: 10th April

    good morning,
PQ, sounds like old man winter isn't quite through yet. Suppose to be in the 80's here today, too hot. Been working around here getting stuff done, wedding in less than a month now and the biggest pain is picking up walnuts in the yard. Never should there be a walnut tree in the yard and we have 3 of them! Today I'm actually going to do some paying work, coffer's are getting low. Off to it friends.... later

    Re: 10th April

    Hello dear friends,

I've just read back from the middle of last week's thread, so hoping now I can keep up. My friend passed away early last Saturday morning. Her son and DIL were able to be close by, so that is a comfort. My friend was a Person of Note in the area (and beyond) so we immediately went into Press mode. I had been the "communicator" with close friends since she went into the hospital, texting or emailing them twice a day, keeping them up to speed with what was going on. I am continuing to do that, plus the summer music festival i work at really owes its existence to this generous benefactor, so I have been managing some of the messaging there as well. Haven't slept a full night's sleep until last night. I flew home on Monday. What day is today? Not sure...

Mick, so sorry about the teeth, but glad you got checked out. Good news on the new help for Julie's dad. So happy that Julie got a celebration dinner for her freedom. Jeeves! when will he ever learn. Good luck with the bee's flowers.

PPQ, things sound like they are really hopping at the center... congrats on all you are handling.

Pauly, so nice to hear from you! I hope the new job is good... I find being busy a great help to each day, I hope you do too...

Sam, weird weather here too - it was 90 here in NE yesterday (!) today is 29... and in between massive storms and tornadoes. Here we had high winds and rain, but close by the tornadoes did their dirty work. I spent some time hiding in the bathroom of my apartment... seemed the safest place.

Lav, your outside work sounds lovely. Thank you for the reminder to get flowers and flags on the graves... Until this spring I have always lived too far away to do that, but now I am here in the same town, so I will make a plan. Hope you can mix outside fun with your embroidery work and cooking. Sounds like a good balance...

Hello to anyone I've missed... sending warm greetings to all... hoping that I will get some energy back today...

    AE ALLÖ
The doc has decided he needs to Laser my eye. Itís the one I had cataract surgery on 5 years ago and itís starting to grow over again. At least itís just a 5 minute zap and Iím out of there. Canít get in till July 8th though. As long as the Iritis isnít back Iím happy.

LavÖSunny and bright here but I have lots of complaints! Itís been snowing off and on again today and there is a bitterly cold wind blowing, bringing the wind-chill temp down -17C/1F. Nice that you got the graves looked after but Iím afraid those flags will keep disappearing. Things are supposed to warm up on Sunday, glad I donít have to go hiding Easter eggs. That snowstorm in the central US is wreaking havoc with Eastern Canada. Theyíve actually closed the highway ahead of the storm, first time thatís been done.

MickÖstill got the snow and more to come. Glad the tooth area is getting better. No work being done in the gardens not until at least the May long weekend. OK, tomatoes it is. LOL I guess Jeeves is going to do what he wants. Good thing heís got you to nurse him back to health.

SamÖnope, the old man is hanging on. I agree, the 80ís is too hot. Wedding less than a month, thatíll be here before you know it. Good to know about the walnut tree I wonít plant one. LOL

TGÖsorry to hear about your friend. Glad her son and DIL were able to be close by. Sounds like youíve been busy keeping everyone up to date, thatís a lot of work. Iím glad youíre home safe and sound and hopefully can get some more sleep. Take some time for yourself. Thanks for the congrats, yup things are definitely in full gear here at work.

Shout out to Det & Pauly. Have a good night all....PPQP

    Re: 10th April

    Good evening friends,

It hit 79 degrees today, wow! Easter Sunday will be a bit chillier at 52 - whatever.
Trying to split my time between house chores, animal care, cooking & embroidery & of course getting an hour of walking in each day. No rest for the elderly, haha!!!!

Mick, sounds like Jeeves is giving you a run for the money, geez. Good that you caught on to his predicament early.
Also glad Julie got the money coming to her, makes a good retirement nest egg
You should be feeling much better in a day or two, Amoxicillin is a little miracle drug in my book.

Sam, good to see you. Walnut trees are a giant mess. My daughter’s neighbor has one & half the walnuts fall into her yard. She was just complaining about that yesterday.
Good luck clearing out the walnuts before the wedding, haha!

PQ, sorry about your eye situation. It’s good that they can just laser it off & be done quickly.
Also sorry about the snow situation, ugh. Be careful out there.

Cyn, so sorry to hear about your friend. I’m glad you’re finally back in your own home, maybe you can begin to catch upon some rest.
I’ve been watching weather reports & can’t believe what’s going on out your way. Glad you’re safe & not traveling right now. Very gracious of you to keep everyone informed of events but I hope you can rest a little now.

    Hello to Pauly & Det.

    Have a nice night all!

    MAE ALL...

Well it continues to snow off and on and it's overcast, cold and downright miserable. Looking forward to 4 days off and doing nothing!

Lav...sounds like you are keeping yourself busy, no rest for the elderly LOL. My eye has been bugging me all day, not hurting just making itself know. Probably on my mind since the doc visit yesterday.

Not much else happening for me. Easter will be a quiet event at my place.

Waves to Det, Pauly, Sam, TG and Mick. Have a good night all.....PPQP

    Re: 10th April

    Greetings everyone,

    Just us here today PQ?
The thermometer hit 80 today with a lot of humidity. My AC turned itself on for a while then the thunderstorm rolled in & dropped half an inch of rain in a few minutes, geez. Now the sun is back

PQ, I feel like I am always doing something…… I don’t sit for long periods of time & I never get bored.
Were you instructed to use any drops in your eye, maybe just for comfort? Since I’ve been using the lubricating drops my eyes feel more ‘normal’. Nothing will ever fix the scar I have but at least they don’t hurt anymore. I really haven’t made plans for the weekend yet, we tend to do things last minute in this family usually because of work schedules. I picked up chocolate bunnies for the. Kids yesterday & they will get them at some point. I really don’t feel like doing the big holiday meals anymore, getting old haha! Hope your weekend is good, stay inside & stay warm!

Hello to Mick, Cyn, Pauly, Det & Sam. Hope everyone is OK.

    Re: 10th April

    Mae all,

Hello Lav and PPQP... I guess it's just us so far... was Mick planning on being gone right now? I hope all is okay on his side of the pond.

Yes, this very strange weather... 90 one day, then the storm, then freezing temps - maybe a bit of snow for us tonight. I guess we had just better buckle our seatbelts and hang on. So grateful I'm not in my old home state of MN... sounds like they are going to get hit.

Lav, you are always doing something! I picked up a hand-embroidery kit when I was hospital sitting... came with the hoop and everything and I was anxious to get started. But the needle they supplied was far too tiny to get 3 embroidery floss threads into. So, maybe I'll check out an embroidery place and get a proper needle. I need to be doing something with my hands right now, my brain seems to be fried and my spirits are dull. So glad you are not planning on a huge family dinner on the holiday - easy does it.

PPQ - so sorry about your eye; I hope the surgery comes quickly. Hopefully there are some drops as Lav suggested that can give you some short-term relief. Oh dear, your weather. I guess all we can be thankful for is that we are headed for warmer weather, not headed into winter! Rest up and rest your eye if you can...

Mick, how is the tooth today? How is Julie feeling? I'm hoping that you are just busy getting ready for your next trip, or out detecting, or taking pics with your flying camera... wishing you and the rabbits well... this is their holiday!

There is a little lake at my apartment complex, and it is a favorite with the Canada Geese that decide to summer here. I was honked at in a very noisy, decided manner by one large bird as I was taking my walk. I looked around, and sure enough the mama was on her nest close by. Her guy is doing a great job of protecting her! I saw another mom nesting, and her partner was also giving me the eye. Somehow I found all of that very touching (even though I have to look at the ground wherever I walk, because they leave such a mess!) Anyway, trying to concentrate on New Life.

Shout out to Det, Sam (good luck with those walnuts!), Pauly, and anyone else dropping by. Looks like the moon is getting ready for a beautiful light show soon...

    Re: 10th April

    Greetings everyone,

We had a nice sunny but windy day here. Just back from my walk & noticed the dog wasn’t huffing & puffing for the first time in a while. Guess she needed the exercise more than I did, hahah!
Got more flower seeds planted & watered everything. I know we have a colder spell coming this way but it won’t bother the seeds.

Cyn, you’re right about me, I don’t like to be idle aka wasting time. While I can still move about & get things accomplished I will
I just saw a pic of the snow in north Dakota - wow! I don’t want any parts of that, not even in winter. I haven’t tried to do any embroidery by hand in decades. I used to enjoy counted cross stitch but I honestly don’t see well enough to attempt that now. Finding the right needle will be very helpful - good luck on your project
We have plenty of PQ’s geese around here, they have been nicknamed sh*t machines by some LOL

Mick, please don’t be like YB & wait until the middle of a thunderstorm to climb an aluminum ladder to clear the gutter like he did yesterday, geez. The gutter on the front of the house clogs up very quickly, not sure why. Have fun with your new toys. That Amoxicillin should take care of the sore throat too, hope it does anyway. Take it easy!

Hello to our hard working gal PQ!

    Re: 10th April

    Mae all,

Somehow this holiday leads me to thoughts of family history ... and since all the family memorabilia is in secure boxes in my bedroom
Closet, itís easy to access (good thing I have very few articles of clothing... &#128521 I will go to the cemetery tomorrow, and looked for the plot locations, finding pictures of my grandmother and husband fro the late 20s... he died tragically young, so I never knew him, but I love these pics. Tomorrow Iíll take flowers...

Still feeling worn out from my trip, so itís early to bed tonight.

Mick, be careful on the ladder. Lav congrats on your walk. PPQ hereís hoping you get a little time off this weekend. Sam, good luck with the walnuts. Hello to all, and enjoy that incredible moon!
