    Re: 20th Nov Cambrai Day

    Hello,

I had a good day babysitting Huxley. He turns 5 months old tomorrow! We were able to nap together, so that made up for getting up so early. But then this morning I was awake again by 4:30 am. Oh well; I have to get all packed up and out the door this morning for my long journey to D3’s house for Thanksgiving! The first stop will be dropping my cat off at the pet lodge.

Sounds like you have lots of good trips planned for next year, Mick. Interesting that you haven’t been to London much, and never as a tourist. I didn’t know RVs were targeted for theft! They seem too big & bulky for that. Not much more you can do to protect yours other than hiring armed guards.

Sorry Mick got you sick, PQ! Huxley & his parents may not be able to join us for Thanksgiving now, because they’re all sick with a bad cold, and could infect newborn Andrew. He’s so small that he hasn’t even regained his birthweight yet. And now I’ve been exposed to Huxley! We’ll have to see how that all shakes out.

Do you think your credit card information got stolen at Walmart, Lav; or at one of your other stops that morning? Scary. I sure hope you can wean off that BP med, since it’s causing harm in your leg(s)(?). It must feel pointless to go through RA testing again when it’s been negative twice, but then that niggling thought that maybe…chances are it will be negative again.

TG, it would be hard to post here if you have already spent significant time typing on the computer throughout the day. I hope the standing desk can change the angle and give your arm & wrist a good posture. Maybe you will have a break from typing and computer work for a day or two for our upcoming holiday this week.

I liked the pointless pencil joke and the one about the policeman’s vest. And the bathroom scale joke!!

    Happy hump day.

    Re: 20th Nov Cambrai Day

    Good tHanksgiving eve everyone

Busy prepping appetizers & stuffing to take to our daughter’s for dinner tomorrow. I’m sitting in my shop typing this while my machine is stitching up a new Llamaste sweatshirt for my granddaughter. Cyn knows exactly what I’m talking about haha!! I gave her one last year & she’s worn it half to death so I thought I’d give her a new one as a little gift for making all A’s on her report card, smart kid
If anyone is looking for an appetizer that absolutely everyone likes take a look at my dairy free pizza rolls: Dairy-Free Pizza Rolls Recipe (No Knead & No Rise!)
They’re easy to make & delicious

Cyn, I wonder now if you could have pinched a nerve somewhere causing the arm & shoulder weakness/pain. You said you saw a chiropractor, did they say anything about that? I hope it resolves soon & you find some comfort. I think I’m already feeling more ‘normal’ taking that half dose of Norvasc this morning. We’ll see how the BP holds up with that. It’s going to be difficult staying away from salt the next few days with all the holiday food but……I’ll do my best. Take good care

Slo, I think we need to consider wearing masks again while people are sick this winter. There’s so many viral things going around & you don’t want the newborn exposed. The pediatric hospitals in SE PA are filled to the brim with sick kids right now, sad. I really don’t think I have RA but it never hurts to get the bloodwork done. If & when that ever happens I will go find a rheumatologist for sure. I hope you enjoy your family gathering tomorrow.

Mick, we have sun & warner temps here for a few days so I’m happy.
The thing with my debit card is I haven’t used it at a Walmart, gas station or any store really. I use it mostly to get cash out of the ATM at the bank or to pay for a meal when we’re out. YB, being the retired detective thinks it’s just people playing with numbers until they find one that works. He wen thru the same thing with his card several weeks ago. It’s annoying as hell, I won’t lie about that Lol
I’m enjoying a few minutes of peace because I have the kitten lock up in the big dog crate right now, haha. She hand my hand bleeding before I was up for two minutes this morning, the little rat. Ihope your Houdinis are behaving.

PQ, what’s up with you? Hope all is well.

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

    Re: 20th Nov Cambrai Day

    MAE ALL...

It was a quiet day today, just what I needed to get caught up on things. Dealing with the craft sale on Friday and not going to work Monday I had a lot to do. Mild temps continue, lots of melting out there. Mind you with some overnight rain/snow things were pretty slick out there this morning. By this time next week we'll be back to the deep freeze.

Slo...yes, you have to be careful around the newborn. I have always continued to wear my mask. With this SRV going around I am nervous with my COPD. I keep my distance and between work, grocery shopping and home I don't go anywhere else. Safe travels to D3 for Thanksgiving.

Mick...good luck with getting Jeeves's prescription renewed. I've had my fair share of struggles just renewing my own. I'm feeling much better but by the end of the day I'm feeling exhausted. Got home from work yesterday and by 6pm couldn't quit yawning so it was a very early night for me. I continue to get people dropping into the office to say how much they enjoyed the craft sale. That's really nice to hear as there's a lot of behind the scenes work to do.

Lav...thanks for the Pizza Rolls recipe. Gotta say I'm glad our Thanksgiving is all over and done with. Glad you're feeling better with the lower Norvasc dosage. I'm surprised you have to continue getting tested for RA. When the Iris specialist saw me and noticed my neck he said to get in touch with my Dr as he was going to ask her to run a certain blood test. Two days later it was confirmed and there is no history of RA in my family that I know of. I didn't realize it was a debit card that was giving you all the grief. I use mine all the time, it's the only thing I use. Makes me think it was a PointOfSales machine that was compromised. Enjoy your Thanksgiving tomorrow.

We have our AGM after work tomorrow so it will be a long day. It will be the first in-person one for 3 years. A lot of the board members were pushing for another virtual one so we shall see how many people actually show up.

Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all...PPQP

    Mae all -

Sounds like life is chugging along for all...
My arm is better today, but I habe some other weird things... I think I have just got some generalized inflammation going on, so it’s back to clean eating, less gluten and sugar, more green things! (After tomorrow &#128521.

I am making some things for the dinner tomorrow at my niece’s house (one hour away)
so I wont be alone for the first time in 3 years (Sorry if I already said that... anyway it feels very lovely).

Ted, I didn’t read the article, but as I drive through this country I feel the pain of these people with such remarkable societies being moved off, or killed. Somehow we need balance, a redress...
Good luck with the Hall! It sounds like quite the wonderful project!

Lav, busy as usual! (That sweatshirt is my comfort go-to!!) Still love it. Hope you have fun with your feast tomorrow...

SLO- I hope you made it to your destination... mask up! It keeps you and everyone else safe. 😉.

PPQ, congrats on all your accomplishments... that must feel so good to know the Craft Fair was such a winner.

Hello to all dropping by - special love to you Pauly, the first holidays can be tough...

    Wishing all well,
    TG

    Re: 20th Nov Cambrai Day

    Good morning,

Young daughter & I made it to our destination! The length of the journey is determined by how it goes getting through Chicago traffic, and that didn’t go well; adding on at least another hour to our drive. But we’re here now!
I got to meet my new grandson Andy! He sure is a long, lanky little guy! And very scrawny so far, but hopefully he’ll keep getting better at nursing.
We will celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow here, and today will make a pie and things like that.

Mick, such a true article about the truth about our “Thanksgiving” celebration. The native Americans have the right idea by having a “Day of Mourning”. I hope curricula are changing in schools to reflect the truth more.

It worked, Lav! I went to bed after 11:00 pm, and woke up past 6 am instead of at 4 am!

TG, you know all too well what @paulywogg is going through this first holiday, having just had to go through that yourself. I’m thankful for you that moving near extended family will give you a better holiday this year than the last three have been.
This is my first Thanksgiving alone after divorce, and it is jarring. I’m thankful that I was extended this invitation back in September to come meet the new baby over Thanksgiving, so I knew that I would have someplace to go. The holiday time does bring up feelings of grief and misgivings.

PQ, that was a major effort to launch that large craft fair! No wonder your body crumpled into sickness right afterwards! But yes -what a feeling of accomplishment that it was such a success.

Happy holiday celebrations to Lav & TG today, and happy Thursday to Mick & PQ!

    Re: 20th Nov Cambrai Day

hiya all ...Hope you are all having a decent thanksgiving ..cold over here today again ,tomorrow is abusy day ,getting the cameras and lights fitted to the house .its dark over here today at 14445,so this system has got night vision too.it will be needed .Next Friday we are offski to Grassington for the Victorian weekend ....looking forward to it ..will see if I can get some decent pics .got all the lights and decorations for the van ...

    https://youtu.be/uNx1syKH4q4

hiya Slo...and a happy holiday to you too..yep a time for thinking etc ,but you cant live on what ifs ,,,we dont do Christmas ,Julies Gran ,mum and brother passed away around then ,so we usually choose to just forget it all..but this year we decided for some reason that we will celebrate it .hence all the decorations etc and going away.No harm in thinking ,but keep a positive spin on it .enjoy yourself with the grandson .

hiya teegee hows you today then? hope you are feeling better .I watched Yellowstone ,but more to the point I watched the series 1886 series which was about the settlers taking the land.it was better than yellowstone .hope you are having a good time at your nieces house .

hiya ppqp...how are you feeling today ? hope all is well..how did the AGM go?Its good that people appreciate the work you put into the organisation of the craft fair.got Jeeves prescription sorted ..she has given us a prescription for 60 tablets ..at quarter a day is 240 days ..she wants to see him anyway ,bearing in mind its trialed medication.but it certainly is working wonders for him.Early nights wont do you any harm.

happy thanksgiving Lav ...hope you have a good one .If someone is doing that on a random basis for bank numbers then they must have a machine ..I would guess its more when you have paid for a meal or something like that they could even have taken a pic of your card .Sorry about the hand ...mine are errrrm behaving ..ish ..He is ok...she is into everything at the moment ...have a great day with the family ...oh yes btw ...whats this "normal "thing you talk about? I ll have some of that !!!

hiya Pauly ,just to let you know we are thinking of you x

    Re: 20th Nov Cambrai Day

    Good evening folks,

We had a nice day with daughter & her family. Granddaughter was very pleased with her new hoodie & I’m sure she will wear this one out as well, Lol
Traffic was surprisingly light, wasn’t expecting that. I hear rain is moving in Sunday when I have our son & his family over, oh well.

PQ, glad your temps are mild right now. I’m just not ready for snow & ice yet - maybe in January or February haha.
That’s awesome your craft fair was such a success. Maybe next year’s will be even better if your vendors read the instructions haha.
I know enough about RA (especially after dealing with my Mom) that I’m pretty sure it isn’t an issue for me right now. She was diagnosed around age 60 or so & I remember her awful pain. There were no meds specific for RA then, certainly no biologics. I remember a chat with a rheumatologist right after she passed & he told me he was happy that there would soon be new meds on the market - that was back in 1987. I’ll be much happier when my shoes fit my feet again & are not rubbing blisters & calluses. Keeping fingers crossed. I made a new Mexican style bean dip for today that was good. Let me know if you want the link.

Slo, glad you made your trip safely & got to see Andrew. The kids all grow so fast, you’ll be very surprised the next time you see him
The 11 pm bedtime seems to work real well so I’m sticking with it haha! Enjoy the rest of your visit.

Mick, that’s a great video, I’m sure you’ll have a great time on your trip.
We are looking at a few security cameras for our house now in addition to the security system we already have. Our daughter just installed one at her house & you can see who is at the door & even talk to them thru an app on your phone. I’m probably going to go into the local branch of our bank tomorrow & talk to someone about this problem. A new card is to arrive in the mail tomorrow. What a pain, Lol
Daisy has ripped open two more holes in my hands today, geez. I’m being as stern as you can be with a 2 lb being but she’s relentless Lol

Cyn, I hope your day with family was lovely!

    Pauly, thinking of you today
Hi to Det & Sam too.

    Have a nice night all.

    Re: 20th Nov Cambrai Day

    Howdy,

The people who can walk are out taking a walk now, before son-in-law’s family arrives soon for Thanksgiving dinner; so I can quick post. I tried to walk with them yesterday, and that didn’t go so well. But at least now I’m walking with a cane instead of a walker!

Scrawny baby Andy will grow big soon, because cousin Huxley, who turned 5 months old yesterday, is here now; and he’s huge next to Andy!

Are you having a turkey dinner for your son’s family on Sunday, Lav?

I see what you’re saying, Mick. These holidays kick up images of intact, traditional family gatherings, prompting nostalgia for what was and how it should be…but keep my head on straight, enjoy what is, and see through that nostalgia stuff.
I guess enough time has gone by now that Julie feels like she can dip some toes into Christmas festivities again, and enjoy them without them kicking up so much pain.

Time to eat turkey soon! The holiday dinner is delayed until this evening because D2 & her HB had to work all day Wednesday, so travel on Thursday. And son-IL3’s sister had to work all day today.

    It’s the weekend!

    Re: 20th Nov Cambrai Day

    MAE ALL…

Long day yesterday but the AGM went without a hitch. Boss appreciated all I did and gave me the afternoon off. YAY

TG…glad your arm is better, sorry about the rest of your body. Glad to see you’ve got your priorities right, clean eating after Thanksgiving. LOL An hour away and not alone for the first time in 3 years sounds fabulous. Thanks for the congrats, it’s felt really good accepting the compliments. Makes it all worth it.

Slo…glad you made it to your destination in one piece. How lucky to meet Andy as a newborn. Hope your had a great Thanksgiving. It did feel good to accomplish the craft sale but I’ve been inundated with requests for next year. I’m just ignoring them for now, way too many other things to wrap up right now. “The people who can walk are out taking a walk now”…that made me laugh. Good job on moving to the cane. You pace yourself, don’t need to prove anything to anyone. I agree It’s the Weekend!

Mick…hope you got all the electronics working yesterday. When I got to work this morning there was an email from childcare saying the doorbell camera wasn’t working right. Wasn’t pointed to where it should be and everyone’s face was huge. Ooops, zoomed into the camera before I went to bed last night and forgot to reset it. LOL The AGM was a huge success, well worth the extra hours I put in. Must be a relief getting Jeeve’s prescriptions sorted. Sounds like the trial medication is working. I hear the UK is now going to get Tim’s coffee. Apparently it’s going to be an elite setup. You’ll have to try it at least once, bring back good old Medicine Hat days.

Lav…Jan/Feb would work for me but that’s a pipe dream. Warm today and the chinook winds started about 2am. There’s an Arctic Cold front heading down and should arrive sometime Sunday. Monday highs are predicted to be 9F and not much improvement all week. I plan on sending out a survey to all the vendors asking what they would like to see different for next year. I will definitely have to increase the number of tables so will need to open another room. Just have to figure out the concession. I really want to be able to feed the vendors if they are there all day. I hope you get the inflammation sorted and your feet fit back into your shoes soon. Yes, I would love the bean dip recipe.

Going to get out for some supplies tomorrow before the deepfreeze. Hope everyone has a good nigh…PPQP
