hiya all,how are we today then? all good I hope ..Just got back from the animal rescue centre, after going up to see Argyll, a black and white Dutch rabbit ,he was found on wasteland ,and has been in care for 6 months.a love;ly little rabbit ...but hey Im biased..not a replacement for Jeeves ,simply another lovely little rabbit to give a good life to if he bonds with Bonnie.Ive made the spare hutch to keep them apart while we bond them, and also a bonding pen.e pick him up on Tuesday ,foster him till we see how they get on and then all being well adopt him.

Re: Dec11
Thx for the startup, Mick... your plan sounds good, and the rescue rabbit looks lovely - is he wild, or was just found out wandering the heath? I’m so glad that you know how to introduce them to each other... that must be a sensitive time. I think I remember when you were introducing Bonnie to Jeeves?... that was fascinating. Best of luck...
Hello to everyone - I hope your days are going well - get some rest, y’all!
I’m continuing to dust and vacuum each day, but still have itchy red eyes and sneezes... hoping some day all this will subside (still more construction to come, though...)
Greetings to all stopping by...
TG

Re: Dec11
Yeah, we’re a tired bunch living in a gray world!
I slept through the night again last night, AND napped again yesterday for two hours! So today I dropped the homeopathic meds my alternative doctor had me start taking, and dropped back down to one instead of two daily doses of one of my mineral supplements (selenium). See if that will help the sleepies!
Mick, gorgeous photo of your Winter landscape over the water!
You were quite partial to your buddy Jeeves, but hopefully this new guy will be a good companion for Bonnie. And who knows, you might end up taking to him eventually. Yes, best stay put this Christmas; what with the new bunny to bond, etc.
My old house was just filled with dust after a basement renovation project. I now see the connection, but it took me a long time to figure out why the dust always came right back after I finished dusting. I hope the new & improved halls will be worth it for you, TG.
Putting ornaments on the tree is a good job for an 11-year-old, Lav! What did you end up feeding them?
I’m enjoying a simpler Christmas this year! No tree (it was an ouch-y enough exercise just to get some decorations up), no baking cookies, no hosting, and just one or two gifts for each person.
4:30 pm and the sun has set!

Re: Dec11
Good evening friends!
The rain arrived as predicted & it’s just chilly.
My friend who moved to FL 6 years ago stopped by for a short visit while visiting family up here. She’s the friend whose son was ambushed at work shot in the head back in May. He’s just had what is supposed to be his final surgery of closing up the parts of his skull that were shattered with 3D printed flaps. He looks fairly well considering everything but I’m sure he will be considered disabled & unable to return to work. Looking at his skull closed up with numerous staples reminded me of my own head injury 22 years ago, ugh. He has moved to FL not far from his parents but His neurosurgeons are up here so that’s why his Mom drove him up here. What a family crisis this has been, I really feel for them
Mick, I have a feeling Argyll will be extremely happy in your care
. Hope Bonnie feels the same way!
I kind of doubt that my daughter will be going to Disneyland in Paris, she doesn’t care much for Disney haha! She will find plenty of things to go & see & may even schedule a bus trip out of the city for a day like we did when we last went.
Cyn, when we built this house I dealt with all that new dry wall dust for a good year & it was super annoying. There’s really no getting around it I think. Whatever OTC allergy you choose should help a bit.
Are you in the path of the storm sweeping the country from the west?
Slo, your. body is trying to heal, maybe the extra sleep is helping?
My granddaughter is 11, turning 12 in February. A good age to help out with most house chores, pet care, etc. I’m just grateful she’s a willing helper
Yesterday I roasted a Store bought chicken, made a big salad & a pan of corn bread & they were all happy. A simpler Christmas is really what we need as we get older, it’s so much work.
PQ, hope you had a good day.
Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

Re: Dec11
hiya all how are we doing? another cold overnight and a frozen day,Bonnie doing ok ,I have finished the other hutch ready for Argyl.going up tomorrow ,but he has to be checked over by the vet before they let him go.Was sorting out my trains earlier on ,its a while since they have run...couple of them a bit iffy but mostly they are ok.Still in the process of doing hogwarts but obviously that has taken a back seat at the moment .
hiya Lav ,hope all is well with you.A store chicken? no home grown one?do you eat your own ones or do they all go to the man with the buggy when its time?glad your friends son is on the mend, but its a tragedy that it happened in the first place.
hope you have a nice day
hiya Slo...you doing ok?hows the sleeping pattern? early days I guess.I already like the new rabbit ,they all have individual personalities ..I need to get her bonded soon ,she is getting quite used to lying in the dining room under the table getting waited on hand and foot!!the scenery round here is lovely ,unfortunately at times you pay the price for that .likewise here no tree ,we dont usually do christmas ,but I even bought lights and decorations for the van ...but that has all gone pear shaped ..Scrooge wasnt such a bad guy!!have a nice day
hiya teegee, hope all is well.?Argyl was found wandering on the moor ,at the time about 3 months old ..my guess either escaped or dumped..Bonnie and Jeeves were quite an easy bond ..some take months some shorter ,some never..they took 11 days ..
20181006_104321.jpg
20181014_175420.jpg
fingers crossed this will be an easy bond too..they direct it ..not us .hope the sneeziness goes soon .
hiya to everyone else hope you are doing good

Re: Dec11
Evening all,
I like how you have to specify where you got your chicken, Lav! It was quite an effort to serve chicken back in the day; I can’t imagine!: kill your chicken, drain it, pull all the feathers out, etc. etc. Yuck!
Cornbread! I should try making that. Would you mind sharing your dairy-free recipe with me, since I’m dairy-free too?
I guess it’s a double disappointment missing your travel Christmas, Mick; since you were actually going to celebrate the holiday for a change this year, and had decorations all ready for the van.
I can’t tell those two rabbits apart!
I need to stay away from those little homeopathic pills my chiropractic guy pushes on me. This is the second set that has wigged me out. I’m feeling much better without them.
Had acupuncture again today for my knees. I love it! My left antecubital fossa is all sore again today -coordinating with the chronic pain knee. He says I can keep massaging that sore spot over the week, to help heal the knee! Had physical therapy today too.
My beef roast is in the oven!

Re: Dec11
MAE ALL… cooler day today then warming up until the weekend. Then it’s back to the deepfreeze all next week. Glad I’m off.
Mick…Argyll looks just like Jeeves. That is Argyll in the first pic right? Nobody could replace Jeeves. Love the pics. Wow looks like a frozen tundra. I’m glad Bonnie is doing ok. I hope they bond easy enough, I will keep my fingers crossed.
Lav…Nice job getting your granddaughter to decorate the tree. Hope your Christmas Eve plans don’t fall through. Glad your friend’s son is doing better, and you’re probably right about being disabled and unable to return to work. I did turn the phone off all weekend and have no idea how the events went. LOL. Just putting in time while waiting for my break to start. It’s going to be a long week as I’m not planning on starting anything new.
Slo…my sleep has been the pits and I keep waking with the strangest dreams. Must be time for me to have a break. When I was living at the ranch I would start dusting at one end of the house and by the time I got to the other end the dust was back. Never ending job. Sounds like a plan staying away from homeopathic pills.
TG…I don’t think you’ll be done with the red eyes and sneezes till the construction is finished. Did you know they were going to do that when you moved in? Hope you get some relief soon.
Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all….

Re: Dec11
Greetings friends,
Chilly & mostly cloudy here today. I see the huge storm system moving across the country west to east, uh oh. I’m wondering if Cyn is getting it now.
I’m in pierogi mode, plan to make & freeze about 100, haha! That way I’ll have plenty to feed whoever comes over & even send them home with some. I have one embroidery customer needing things done but that should be easy enough to get done.
Mick, I wish you loads of luck with Argyll & I hope the two decide they like each other
I absolutely refuse to kill & eat my chickens for a number of reasons so if we want chicken for dinner we get one from the supermarket. My chickens are here to provide eggs & a certain amount of entertainment. That wounded young man is walking & talking but he’s just not right if you know what i mean. He’s not allowed to drive yet (if ever). I just can’t see him being employable in the future. it’s sad but that’s what it is.
Slo, I have learned that you can pretty much change any recipe to be dairy free & I also reduce the sodium in everything too. I use a butter substitute for baking, whatever is available in your area. Even Smart Balance works great in everything. I use my homemade oat milk or store bought oat or almond milk works just fine. Have you looked into purchasing an Almond Cow - what a great little machine!!!
You can find tons of recipes at : godairyfree.org
I’ve used that website like a bible for many years now. Glad your knee responds to the acupuncture & PT.
PQ, glad your weekend was peaceful. Lay low until your break starts haha!!
My daughter is planning to put a new Ikea kitchen in their very old house. They had an appointment with the consultant yesterday & she said the granddaughter was so verbal & pushy thru the whole thing that the lady just started asking her questions about what she wanted in the new kitchen, LOL. I remember being that age & suddenly realizing that I had questions & opinions too haha!!
Cyn, hope you’re OK & not dealing with a big snowstorm at this point.
Have a nice night all!
Lav

Re: Dec11
MAE ALL....it's been a long day and they're just going to get longer. Can hardly wait till Friday is done. Unfortunately temps are dropping on Saturday to Mick's temps and staying there till Christmas. Hopefully that means less people out and about.
Mick...like you say, early days. How did the house get to be a bomb site? You stay warm and good luck with the bonding.
Lav...of course you're in pierogi mode, it wouldn't be Christmas without them. I would never be able to kill and eat my own chickens. I actually have to stop myself from thinking where the food came from that I'm eating. Not sure why I'm not a vegetarian by now. How fun, a new kitchen. Good for your granddaughter knowing what she wants. She'll probably be doing most of the cooking anyways. LOL Time for you to start winding down too.
Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all....
