I have been reading lately that there could be a link between Effexor and alcohol cravings...

    Thoughts?

Effexor absolutely causes cravings. Additionally, I have had gastric bypass surgery and it compounds the problem. Went on Campral to help w/the cravings and then learned the two were cancelling each other out.

thanks. I have been weaning myself off of Effexor for the past 2 years. Today is day 2 without it. Last night I poured myself a glass of wine and didn't even drink it (took 3 sips).
I will keep you posted to see if the cravings stop.

Wow. Never thought about that connection, although I used to be on Prozac and it clearly gave me a WTF attitude. Crap. Effexor made me so much better. Now what?
