    Daily prayer

I have been writing down my daily prayer in a document on my computer, but then it occurred to me that I could post it here. If others want to join me, that would be great: Dear Lord, thank you for enabling me to refrain from drinking. I really want to be done drinking for good, and I will continue to need your grace and strength. Thank you for all the good things you have provided for me, I want to respect them all. In Jesus name, Amen.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Wildflowers, I have quit several times before but it has never "stuck." I "get" it now, I am really ready to quit. I also have had failed attempts to do 30 days, so I know I need more help than I can get on the boards, as kind as everyone is. He is the answer, I just need to keep asking and listening. He helps those who help themselves, so I also need to do my part.

Me too hun! I agree 100% You can PM anytime.

My oldest daughter wants to start going back to Church. Went on Easter. It was great! Part of it was about a guy who killed a man with his truck. It was an accident, the guy jumped out in front of him. A testimony. This guy was an alkie, gambling addict, smoked, porn addict & bi-polar. He was in recovery. I had tears. I think this church likes people like us, so I'm willing to go back there & give it a try. Plus the music was good.

I also am seriously thinking of giving AA a try again. I've learned most my recovery skills from them. Been to some CR meetings in the past, but not too many female alkie~addicts there. Tho way less judgement then in AA. Have been to just a couple of Smart Recovery meetings years ago. May do that to. Never been to WFS meeting, have always wanted to! So, there ya have it. My first F2F meeting will be them. Have chapter meetings available here.

MWO also has it's own unique recovery theme as well. I like anything that will help any of us find a way out! No wrong way of doing it!.... I'm putting my plan together. It takes a lot of hard work to get sober, good quality sobriety may I add, IMHO. But, being a drunk is much harder work!

I have to print something & get somethings done. Family arriving this evening. Making two big pans of Lasagna ~ Salad. Hope you have a good day! Keep praying & hold onto your faith! There have been days that my faith in the Lord is the only thing that kept me sober! I thank him ea day for helping me! :l

Dear Lord, As I awoke I heard these words that you sent me: "Open my eyes, that I may see. Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me; Place in my hands the wonderful key. That shall unclasp and set me free." It is a lovely hymn, with the message I need right now. My eyes have opened and I have accepted the fact that I can't drink reasonably, and I don't want to drink at all. This brings me great peace. Thank you, Amen.

Wildflowers, We need to always keep trying, and change the plan if it isn't working. It sounds like that is what you too are doing.

Church is one of my homes - Presbyterian. I sing in the choir; then I used to go home and drink! no more.
