hope to clean chicken house before I leave, but looks like rain for the better part of this week. Mick, glad to hear you getting some rain, helps with the fires or are they out now?

      MAE ALL...

Mick...as a Hatter! LOL Farmer might not be happy if it's raining where you're detecting. Whatever you don't get stuck out there. Saw the eclipse on the news, now I remember what a red moon is. We we're able to see it here either. Glad the cat is doing better.

Pauly...we have the same weather pattern here, just not the high temps. Heard it was 44C on Friday!

Lav...that is one huge mushroom! How did you get the snake out of the nest box? Glad to hear your dog's doing ok. I guess he's figured out all your medicine tricks. I had to do the exact same thing when dog sitting for my brother.

Heading over to the garden to shellac some plot plaques students at an art academy in Calgary painted for us. If all goes well we'll drill them into place at Weeding Wednesday. I'll take a pic for you all. Little bit of grocery shopping and some laundry otherwise it'll be a quiet Sunday for me. Have a good one all....:smile:PPQP

        Greeting Abbers,

Oh yes we did have a sunny, no rain, not too hot or humid day today, yay!
Tomorrow it goes right back down the tubes, oh well.

Mick, I hope you found something other than a bucket of rain today, lol. Some outdoor activities need to be rescheduled when it rains, just saying

Sam, sorry the fence is still giving you fits. Do you have someone watching your animals while you’re away?
I stopped over at my son’s house today to check on the cat & my grandson’s goldfish - they were both starving.
        When are you leaving?

PQ, save your pennies & get yourself an Instant Pot. I made soup in mine this afternoon then baked an apple cake, ha ha!
It’s the best toy I’ve had in a while.
The giant mushroom got run over with the tractor today, lol
No snake sightings, thank the gods. Yesterday we both had to get in there to remove the snake. I had to push the bottom end of it thru the chicken wire, it was stuck. YB grabbed it by the top dnd & pulled, ha ha. I was skeeved out all day.

Hello to Pauly, Pie & anyone else nearby.
        Have a nice night everyone.

"Well", said the boy, "there's only so much I can blame on the dog".

A worried father telephoned his family doctor and said that he was afraid that his teenage son had come down with V.D. "He says he hasn't had sex with anyone but the maid, so it has to be her".

"Don't worry so much," advised the doctor. "These things happen".

"I know, doctor," said the father, "but I have to admit that I've been sleeping with the maid also. I seem to have the same symptoms".

          "That's unfortunate".

"Not only that, I think I've passed it to my wife".

I recently had a visitor from the state of Texas. For three days all I heard from him was "In Texas we have the best this, the largest that, the fastest that," etc. It eventually became very annoying.

I am from Niagara Falls and I thought I could outdo him by showing him the "Magnificent Niagara", knowing there was nothing in Texas that could compare to this "Wonder of Water & Power".

While standing at the brink watching millions of gallons of water rushing over, I noticed the look of awe in his eyes. It was then I asked him: "Do you have anything like this in Texas"?

He waited a moment before he answered: "No, but we have a plumber that could fix it."

Caller: I'm at a pay phone. North and Foster.

Dispatcher: Sir, an ambulance is on the way. Are you an asthmatic?

          Caller: No

Dispatcher: What were you doing before you started having trouble breathing?

          Caller: Running from the Police.

A pedestrian stepped off the curb to cross the street and a car suddenly came screaming around the corner and headed straight for him. He started to run, trying to get out of the way but the car changed lanes and was still coming at him.

He turned around to go back to the curb but the car changed lanes again and was heading right for him. As the car approached, the man became so frightened that he froze and stopped in the middle of the road.

At the last possible moment, the car swerved and screeched to a halt right beside him.

The window rolled down and he was amazed to see that the driver was a large squirrel!

The squirrel looked him up and down and said, "See, it's not as easy as it looks, is it"?

Went for my routine check up today and everything seemed to be going fine until he stuck his index finger up my butt!

              MAE ALL...

Mick...at least you were stuck in traffic and not out in the field where you probably still would be this morning. I've been stuck in farmer's fields before. We're getting hot temps again this week with T/storms in the evening, same old. Plaques all shellacked and we'll be mounting them on Wednesday. I'll be supervising as I don't want to be responsible for breaking them.

Sam...did you get the valve sorted? Probably not based on your comment. Where are you off to next week? I'm looking more and more forward to my vacation. Ah...I see you got the post pounder going. Good job. Good luck at the meeting this morning.

Lav...I was going to ask if you attempted to eat that mushroom, guess I know the answer to that. LOL I've been checking out the Instant Pots and it does seem like a better alternative to the crock pot. We shall see. I did get a kick out of Mick's solution for the cat and the goldfish. LOL

Pauly...you back from the family get together? How did things go?

Popped into the office when I was at the garden over the weekend and there was a notice about water disruptions due to sewer work in our area. I'll have to get in and check that out as it could shut down our Out of School Program. Other than that expecting a quiet week, hopefully a lot of card playing involved. Have a good one....:smile:PPQP

                  Good evening Abbers,

We went back to feed the cat again & this time YB cleaned out the fish bowl for those poor little fish. Grandson needs to be taught how to do this procedure, ha ha!
I went in for my dental cleaning today & came home with two appointments to get work done that I didn't even know I needed. Funny how they do that (not)!

Mick, sorry yesterday was a washout for you! It's hard to find things in the mud I think, ha ha!
We start back up again tomorrow with rain & thunder storms, not like we need them.

Sam, glad to hear your fencing is coming along after all that
I hope your meeting went well.

Pauly, nice to hear you had a good family visit.
I hope your day was fab!

PQ, I beat yo here tonight - I hope your day was good as well.

                  Not much else happening here.

So this kid never says anything. He's ten years old and has never said a word his entire life. His parents are naturally overwrought with concern.

They take him to specialists, they read books on psychology, they do everything they can to pique his interest, but nothing seems to work.

They are literally at their wits end when one day at the dinner table, out of the blue, kid says -- "Soup's cold".

Needless to say his parents are completely in shock and, of course, at the same time overjoyed. "He can talk", blurts out the Mom!

Dad says, "After all this time, after all the therapy sessions, after everything we've done to try to get you to talk, how come you've never said anything"?

Kid says, "Well, up until now everything's been fine".

looks like a rainy day, thanks for the morning brew, Mick. I leave this Friday, get back Tuesday, then thinking about going to a fiddle camp when I get back. Depends on how tired I am. Not looking forward to flying. Fencing project well under way!

PQ, my mom would use the same phrase: "nothing startling". I have a daughter who's middle name is Drama!

Pauly, glad you had a good visit with your mom, do your parents live a long distance from you? My parents have been gone awhile, still miss them but I still have my fond memories and kinda swept all the bad ones away!

Lav, how's the varmint scene going, foxes? hawks? snakes? My chickens are doing the molting and some broody thing.

Have good one all, hope PI, SK, Det, TT are doing well.

Sam...glad to hear the fencing project is well underway. Have you sold off your herd or do you have someone watching things for you while you're away?

Should be another quiet work day, just the kind I like. Have a good one....:smile:PPQP

Sam,they only live about 3 hours away but in northern NV there just isn't much so the drive feels like 12 hours,,,long and boring I read 5 magazines making sure I read every article to kill time,,now I know more about those royals who just got married more than I cared to know yep I have good memories of my parents growing up and some bad but I figure they did the best they could at the time, they were pretty young raising me now that I look back but of course every kid thinks their parents are old growing up,PQ,hope your day is nice I'm to the point where I'm keeping an eye out for another salon,so is Kell,we've both kind of had it with that feckin circus of a shop, its in a grungy area, everyone who works there is two faced, the new"manager" is strung out on loratab and Valium and completely paranoid,,,I'm over, just try to get most of my credit cards paid off or caught up and keep my eyes peeled! Much love to all and wishes for a terrific BF Tuesday!

                              Good evening friends,

Started the day off with another snake visitor - looked like the same snake, same nest box
I have handled ALL kinds of nasty sh*t in my lifetime but I just can not handle a snake, we all have our limits!!!! I just wish the damn thing would be happy feasting on field mice & other small rodents but somehow it's developed a taste for eggs. I know chickens will eat worms & small snakes but these snakes we have here are 4-5 feet long. Way too big, haha!!!

Mick, the rain truly does make your garden grow & all the weeds too. I will never catch up weeding garden beds, I'm not even going to try.
Fresh veggies are the best. I baked up a half dozen ears of locally grown corn today, yum

Sam, our rain is due to arrive around midnight & not stop until next Monday, ugh.
I take it you don't enjoy flying? I hope you enjoy your trip anyway. I haven't seen any foxes since we put our hens in lock up, lol. The hawks are ever present here, eagles too.

PQ, I actually have a vegan lasagna recipe that is darn good! I hadn't had any lasagna in years until I found a way to make cashew ricotta. I layer it with lots of veggies - red peppers, zucchini shredded carrots, spinach.
I hope your day was as quiet as expected

Pauly, you're not into road trips? Not everyone is, it's OK. The one trip I will never do again is driving from PA to FL. It's so much easier to fly, fares are cheap enough.
I'm glad to hear you are looking for a new place to work. We all deserve a kinder place to work!

I had a call from SK, she was released from the rehab today & is back home. She still has a lot of healing to do but she sounded good. I'm happy for her & happy to hear that her daughter did indeed visit her while she was hospitalized. She's still trying to find someone to help her fix her computer so she can logon here. She asked about you Pauly

I'm still dog sitting, all is going well!
                              Wishing everyone a nice night!
