Re: Super Sober Shout Out September 8th 2019

2268 day - 6 years, 2 months, 16 days of freedom to be myself - whether they like me or not

Sunday morning musings alert :

A lot of of personality gets lost in the bottle - as we try to fit in.
Now if I have to dispute something or argue my point it is accepted and not dismissed in that awful : eyes-to-heaven-here-she-goes-again way....

I used to think alcohol was great to let me say what I REALLY thought - but some people can't handle the 'truth' :haha:

With a clear head I now know some people are more sensitive than others and can take offence easily - so I tend to stay clear of those people. Life is too short.
I've become adept at knowing who will understand where I'm coming from & those who don't. While I know that is their problem - I do not wish to hurt anyone.
Alcohol removed that filter and caused all sorts of friction :egad:

4 years, 7 months, and 26 days of living life not wondering anymore...
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

413 days of standing up for myself and not backing down! It’s harder this way, having to deal more directly with conflict instead of numbing it, but necessary.

So proud of you, available, for tackling your nicotine addiction and winning!

And Guitarista will be completing a year AF this week!

Together, we are doing this.

Thanks Satz. I reckon it is the realisation that life is becoming shorter, and i might as well damn well DO SOMETHING! That is, why not go for those dreams i've always had, and at least try for my best life - daily. Daily self care routine of speed yoga and meditation/breathing has helped me keep my head and emotions on track. Have a beaut week everyone.
