    Kudzu: root vs. extract

After reading other posts regarding concentrations of Kudzu I'm wondering if the stuff I'm taking is potent enough. It is from Nature's Herbs and the front of the bottle says "Standardized Extract," 100 mg extract per capsule, 1 mg Daidzin. Then, on the back, the label says each capsule contains 100mg of Kudzu Root Extract and 450 mg Kudzu Root. If I want to take 500 mg 3x per day, should it be of the extract or root or combo?

    Kudzu: root vs. extract

    Hi.

Good question on Kudzu confusion. Because these are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration the labeling is not monitored. Standardized extract I believe is the actual amount of the drug while the 450mg may just be the weight of the root. Very confusing. I think the higher dose product on the message board seems to be the pure product and easier to calculate. We're going to follow up on the main message board on this within the next few days, so watch for more info.
