A first grade teacher collected well known proverbs.
She had twenty-five students in her class and she presented each child with the first half of a proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb.
It's hard to believe these were actually done by first graders.
Their insight may surprise you.
While reading these keep in mind that the children are first graders ... 6-yrs old, because the last one is a classic!

These are just great! Obviously, the proverbs were from the "olden days" (I remember the "real" answers to most of them:eek ) It is just wonderful what the kids will come up with, and such a reflection of our times, both the good and the bad! Don't ever say that kids don't know what's going on, huh!!!

Thanks, kangaroo!
