    Army Thread 7th January

    Good morning Army

It's a beautiful morning here in Stellenbosch. Everyone else still asleep - enjoying the quiet before the cubs start bickering and the TV is switched on. As long as the southeaster stays away, we should be set for a nice weekend.

Pool duty beckons and then I have to go to the nursery to get some fertiliser & compost. The heated pool is fantastic for wimps like myself who dislike cold water, but it does mean more maintenance to keep it looking good.

Have a lovely day, whatever you'll be doing.

Pool duties completed. Vacuumed, weir & filter baskets emptied & rinsed, backwashed & topped up. I think I deserve another cup of coffee.

Looks like Expattie is having a well-deserved lie-in. My lot are also still snoring away. Mind you, if he isn't forcibly woken up, the eldest cub can luxuriate in the smell of his farts until well after noon. When he was catsitting for friends of ours, he had to set his alarm. When he got back, he promptly got into bed again and slept on.

Morning Tips and everyone else to come
No alarm this morning but woke up at 7. That feels late though!:H Kids are still asleep but it's dark out so I'm just enjoying my coffee.
You sound busy Tips! What time does the sun come up in your part of the world (and sunset) since I'm being nosy?

                Morning JC!
Ah yes Tips, you are getting the lovely long days of summer. 8:14 here and still dark and cold. Sun should be up in about 15 minutes or so if it can pierce through the grey cloud coverage!:H
The little one is awake. I should probably feed him.

I'll go and furtle through her handbag ,remove a few twenties , while she's asleep and tell her it was all a dream.

Anyway I wanted to be in town early but preferably after the shops were open not before.

                        Laters Tipperoo.

Yep it's a blooming long month January.

Funnily enough me and Mr JC were talking last night and had we just put all those pounds we've stuck on the lottery (and won nothing) in a jar we'd have thousands.

Morning chums & chumesses I am back into a nice sleeping pattern or to be more precise a nice waking pattern around 7 am irrelivant of what time I go to bed. It would be a handy thing had I a job to go to. In other news I have found the past two days quite tough as regards my wanting a drink late afternoon and had to give myself a stern talking to, as in 'stop it', yesterday, in a loud voice as if I were chastising a naughty child. Maybe I should think of those voices as such but probably not seeing as I am very fond of those miniature people. Why not come here and post? Well I am keeping that and my lglut as bringing in the heavy artillery when needed. Might sound daft but it's worth a try. Anyways here I am hangover free and my liver is no doubt appreciating not having a daily poison quota to deal with. So that's enough about me me me.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Hello KTAB! Sleep is important. Have you started swimming again yet? It is important to find fun things to keep you busy. I finished work early yesterday because one of my classes was cancelled so instead of coming home on a Friday afternoon --with a few lonely hours to spare before collecting the kids from school-I decided to walk a few miles across Paris. I passed through the Chinatown section. It's really incredible-you feel like you're in Asia. So I just walked and people watched and soaked in the sights and smells. Cost of outing? 2 euros-stopped at a caf? for an expresso. But it was great. I know you live in a gorgeous part of the world...any thoughts on getting out there and re-visiting some old favourites? I wish you'd take some photos to share with us!!!:H It is fun to see. I've really been enjoying Tips photos (and Pingu's too! But her ear made me hurt:H=)

Thanks Expat wise words indeed thank you. I have done the same in Chinatown in London and we have our own small one now in Dublin did you know? Btw I just posted similar advice about keeping busy of another thread. I am popping out shortly and one of the things on my list is to call to get a new timetable for the pool & gym. It's hard to keep focused at times though when the whole work/money situation is hanging over my head like an exocutioneers axe. I know in recent times I have let it really depress me which of course leads to drinking which of course depresses further, so I am trying hard to avoid it getting me down. I have always been a glass half full person so it would behold to remember that.
I might try and take some pictures when I am out with the dogs sometime and post them. Re the ear ouch is right.
