    friday 21 August

    morning,no Mick,what's going on?

Day off today, very grateful for a 3 day weekend, off to see old friends and stay in hotel, looking forward to chilling in hotel for few hours on my own!Hoping they have wifi, taking netbook and books, maybe journal.
This has been a stressy week, feels like staff member being off sick for few weeks has given me space to feel the bad stuff, rather than cope on auto pilot, not pleasant but better out than in.Plan to do mindfulness CD in a bit,and focus on breathing.

I did yoga last night when I didn't feel like it,and that helped me hugely to feel better, tired but actually focused on the moment.
I have my hynotherapy appt later too, I have also me up with an old friend, who has stopped drinking, and is having a few other parallel life experiences- so nice to speak to someone who 'gets it'.I never thought I would have that so I feel very lucky.

So through the bad stuff, there is good, supportive colleagues, people on the same wavelength as me,old friends who visited for the summer,my OH,having a job and a supportive boss and as always and massively important my health and my lovely cat.
I am reminding myself that yes I have a lot on my plate, but I'm not alone, and I don't need to deal with it all today.

I sound calmer than I feel but I can see a way out of what seemed like an endless whirlwind of negativity and that this way of feeling isn't forever and I can feel good, whilst at the same time feeling stressed/anxious.

Think I'm on week 11 now - really no temptation atm but I am very aware that can change, especially as I come out of a bad place, I'm also welding myself to the e cig - reported to be 95% less harmful than cigarettes.

Have a great day everyone - needed to blurt today.

After the leak of the hacked Ashley Madison adult dating website data I have discovered a long lost identical twin brother I didn't know I had. He even has the same name as me.

Apparently a large number of Britain's teenagers are suffering from low self-esteem and body image issues.

Not all of them, though; it's just the fat and ugly ones.

I just read the Headline, 'Suicidal man jumps in front of moving train.'

Never has there been a more pointless use of the word 'Moving'.

I once knew a Chinese guy who was hung like a horse.

They don't fck around with oat thieves over there.

Jenga teaches children that if you work hard and spend a lot of time on something, some idiot will come along and ruin it all for you.

I was touring a cheese factory, when I said to the guide, "I love your dairy air."

She replied, "Thanks, I've been working out."

          MAE ALL....

Lazy morning.....eating bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and listening to the rain pouring down. Friday starting out great.

Bear...thanks for kicking us off and I agree you have had a stressy week. I also agree that out is better than in. Glad to hear you're spending the weekend away with friends, even one night made all the difference for me. You do sound calm and more important positive. Attitude is everything.

Mick...hope you feel better soon, you too take care of yourself. Love the pics of your finds.

Lav...another busy day ahead for you. Good thing you enjoy all the visiting!

Pauly...I liked the Ashley Madison twin joke as well. Sounds like you've had some experience in treasure hunting. Hope you have a peaceful Friday as well.

Shout out to Sam and Det and all to come......:smile:PPQP

            Morning Lovelies!

Mick, do you ever just have a pajama day? You know, hang out on the sofa with a pillow and blanket while watching Judge Judy reruns? Ok, maybe not. Wondering how you identify the found treasures. Is there some expert you consult with?

            Congrats on week 11, Bear.

Bathroom painting is done, done, done! Lots of effort for minimal improvement actually. Keeping the cabinet doors open for a few days to fully dry. Will post a pic after that.

Another day of precious rainfall here which is great, but will require big yellow poncho for dog walk later.

Really missing my evening wine which used to signal the end of the day. It's when I've done all that I want to do, nothing good on TV, and I just want to go to bed, but I'm not sleepy, and know a couple of glasses will ease me on my way. Obviously need to come up with a different end of day routine, so will be thinking on this.

hiya pie...well done on the painting....yes I do have doss days ..but usually they last about an hour.....

as far as AShley madison goes..here it is

The other shoe just dropped. The hackers who breached the cheating site AshleyMadison.com appeared to make good on their threat to expose customer data on Tuesday, dumping the stolen information online.

ppqp ..any rook for me at that brekkie table?

Pauly as far as the prison drama goes..thats about it ...a drama ..same as every other job has its ups n downs ..goods and bads ok there is a stronger chance of being attacked or stabbed up than say if you were selling apples on a stall ..but the same goes for cops, drivers, firebobbies etc....I went into specialist stuff which I found really interesting..kind of pitting your wits and outguessing what was going to happen that was good fun

Pi...glad to see you got out of the bathroom. LOL Boy that evening routine was a hard one for me to replace. For me it was get home from work, change into pj's, and pour a glass of DOC. Then maybe or maybe not eat dinner. I found I had to change my routine from the minute I left work. Instead of coming straight home would head out for a walk first. Gave me a chance to unwind and work up an appetite. Think that would be a good time for you to listen to a meditation cd.

Mick...you're always welcome at the breakie table.

PQ, yes same evening routine for me. I did change it up early in my quit by going to evening yoga class, and found it very helpful. Since moving away from the studio area, that's gone by the wayside. I need to put effort into finding something else to do.

                    Did someone say, bacon?!

Thanks for the link, Mick. Trying to figure out what I was doing to have missed this news. Surely it was something interesting. Surely.

My evening routine wasn't terrible for years until it started creeping earlier and earlier into the day! A glass with dinner became so much more! It came to the point that by 2 p.m., I was acutely aware of the time and just waiting for it to be "late enough" (That '5 o'clock Somewhere' song still makes me really uncomfortable). At the beginning of my quit, I substituted tea or kombucha or a snack for that immensely pleasurable on-an-empty-stomach first glass of wine. It wasn't as rewarding but the ritual was reassuring, I guess. And it was nice to take a break and slow down. But what I noticed was I started losing track of the time. My brain no longer started screaming at me at 2 pm so I often obliviously continued working or doing something fun until I didn't have time for my "ritual" or it was too close to dinner for a snack. I do kind of miss taking a little time out and relaxing but without the addiction driving the behavior, I myself am not so good at making the time. I miss that part but not the compulsion to get it!!
