Morning Mick and MAE all to come....

Yup, plan is to take it easy this weekend. The boss's non-existence is starting to affect more than just me, he has a very angry nonfunctional group of employees. President of the board was in yesterday concerned that we are in jeopardy of losing out Casino license as the boss neglected to file the proper paperwork from the last event. On another note, I may actually have to go over to the garden and water today. Hope your weather improves for your detecting tomorrow and sorry I don't have any suggestions to help with your plantar fascists.

Pi...never thought of the whole process of a murder trial, think I'd be happy to just give the whole thing a pass if possible.

Shout out to everyone else, got to go find something to fill this empty tummy.....:smile:PPQP

Mae everybody, Mick, glad that Julie's blood pressure is back to normal, Pie,I never thought of the whole process of being a juror on a murder trial either and getting those images out of your head, Eeks! It takes a certain kind of person to be a cop, doc, emt, nurse, etc,I wanted to go into nursing when I was younger but knowing who I am now,I'm glad I didn't I'm far too sensitive,II'm so tired today I feel stretched to the limit! Too much mental stress, it'll work out though I just gotta stay positive and quit being a drama queen, much love to all
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Morning folks cos its actually Sunday morning here. Made the most of some sunny weather and took my daughter out for a driving lesson yesterday - except we stayed away 5 hours! We went off into the countryside and that was lovely - but not really the kind of driving experience she needs to pass her test. The day was spoiled a bit when I went supermarket shopping on the way home and bumped into a colleague - and we talked about the horrible stuff I cant talk about here. Suffice to say that when I said to my daughter "if I dont laugh I will cry" - I meant it.
Anyway Mick daughter is Ok now and thanks for asking - it wasn't about my relationship with her and she wasn't being bratty - just overwhelmed with stuff and I could not really help. I am glad that Julie is OK - low blood pressure is better than high BP isn't it?
I dont know how to relieve your plantar pain - but I can imagine that its debilitating. What does the regular GP say?
Pie - I think I would actually like to be on a jury trial. In all of my years I have never been called up. I have sat through some trials and read court records but thats about it. Mr GB was called up a few years ago for a ghastly rape trial but he couldn't talk about it at the time. At all. Somehow I read about the trial in the paper and figured out that this was what he was sitting on. We dont do so much plea bargaining as you do in the US and some other places - our legal system is more like the UK - but has some differences now too.
Pauly - very sorry that you are going through shit and stress in the family at the moment. You know you will get through this with better clarity if you dont drink - and dont have to deal with regrets from drinking.
Unfortunately I have had quite a few drinking dreams lately. They are very complicated and very layered - so I put it down to all the crap going on in my work life. Other stuff from the past comes up in my dreams (ex-husband etc). I see this as a reflection of whats going on around me and fears about my future and that of others. I do not see it as an indication that I will turn to AL.
Sam - are you OK? You sounded a bit flummoxed in your last post.

Hi there Lav, set and Kendall and PQ of course.
Well I read a post on FB about a friend whose 98-year-old mother has passed on. He is devastated and obviously it was a very loving and supportive relationship but I am sure there must have been trials and tribulations throughout the years. He was not maudlin but it goes to show how no matter old, those parental bonds can be strong and really matter. And of course so can the bonds of friendship/ community / other bonds too.

Hey all - I haven't been able to read back so I don't know how everyone is doing. But, I wanted to be sure to say HELLO.

I just was able to wash Mom's hair so that makes us both happy. And, I am heading out to play bingo in a little bit. Hubby is such a sweetie - he stays with mom so I can get out.

I'll catch you all tomorrow. :checkin:

Mick - I couldn't find the butterfly until I sat back & relaxed. And then there it was.

MAE All. Mick, I believe the guy must serve 30 years before he can be considered for parole, at which time he'll be 75. The murder actually happened in, but the case went cold for over a decade until the guy's DNA was collected related to another crime. Ultimately, his DNA was matched to that on record from the murder scene, which we were shown video of. It was a woman in her early 20s that he killed. He picks her up one night from a parking lot, they agree to go back to her place for sex. She views this as an income producing activity, he sees it differently. A scuffle ensues, and she doesn't live to see the light of another day. Honestly, the trial was one of the most interesting things I've ever experienced. So, no regrets on showing up.

Today, I'm helping with the intake of dozens of dogs from a hoarding situation. Sad, sad business, it seems. I'll know more tomorrow.

PQ, Does your boss need the insurance from his employment to pay for his health care?

                Good evening Abbers,

I've waited too long to check in & now it's bedtime.
Busy day BUT the first wall of the greenhouse was installed with the help of son, son-in-law & a friend. YB is happy! Glad I stayed out of that, ha ha!!!
I made a big dinner to feed everyone & kept the kids out of the way!

Hello to Mick, PQ, Pauly, TT, Pie, Nora & everyone popping in after me.
                Peace to all tonight!

Mick, try putting duct tape over sealing it well, repeat every 2-3 days and in a couple of weeks it will either fall out or you can scrape it out, Some people use the liquid bandage, it must have something to do with depriving it of air, oxygen, whatever. I have the low bp too, and yes you are not likely to have all of that with hypertension. We just have to worry about falling over and dying of concussion!:eek-new:

Mick...glad it was low blood pressure. I have it as well and it runs in my family. Now that I stand for work I have noticed periods of getting light headed. Then I get panicky because it's not always easy to just go sit down somewhere. Glad Julie is ok.

No way would I ever want to be on a murder trial. Actually any trial. Since the OJ Simpson trial and all the suppression of evidence I've always been a bit leary. That case was such a circus. I've also been fascinated with the Innocence Project....I would make a very bad juror. Nobody would ever get convicted.

Guy came in today to buy wine...carded him, he comments....."I love being carded I'm almost 40 and still get carded everywhere I go". Really idiot.....it's the law in TN to card EVERYONE regardless of age. Seventy to Eighty year old people have their ID ready.....because they know it's the law. I just wonder if he will still be thinking he looks 18 when he is 80.

Hubby is still waiting to get approval for his surgery. This is so ridiculous. They are paying him workman's comp.....he has been laying on the couch for weeks....and they can't get their shit together to approve the surgery. On the plus side.....after the initial adjustment period we do seem to be getting along better. Thanks to Netflix he has now watched about 5 shows and their entire 20 season run. I think he has also tapped out all the JFK documentaries. Thank god Netflix doesn't charge by the hour!
