hiya all how are we today? hope all well ...pouring with rain here ...and guess what stomach feels a lot better ..so the list is at present tomatoes wholemeal bread apples oranges grapefruit ,processed ham, coffee sweeteners fizzy pop.I am sure there will be more .Julie bought herself a new fitbit as a leaving present ..the latest one ..the charge 5 ..she was going to buy me one butt that has been shelved .one of the apps is to measure your stress level ..you have to hold the edges of the tracker and sit still for 3 mins to reduce the stress ..it did the opposite for me ..sitting doing nothing doesnt do it for me !!she was laughing her head off .Fixed the faulty burner on the cooker in the van this morning ...works a treat now

hiya Lav hows you today then ...hope all is good .hope the bullying issue gets sorted out ..I remember if we got in fights as kids ..and went home ,my dad chucked us out to sort it out ..My brother got bullied by two lads for a while ...I remember fronting them up and it ended up in an animated debate with them coming off second best..Smith and Wesson beats 4 aces...meaning the bully may be ruff n tuff ..but they will let their guard down somewhere sometime .its hard to explain to a kid ,but its the fear of what might happen as opposed to what you can make happen .Dont think that style is amenable to society today ..have you re started your embroidery again yet?
see the stuff you learn on here ,,

hiya teegee congrats on the length of shut eye ..your body must be getting into a calmer routine .Yes my stomach feels better today thank goodness.hope you have a good day

    Re: 13th feb

Once again, here’s from yesterday... on last week’s thread!

    “ Mae all,

Well, for some reason - who knows why - i slept from 9pm to 7 am! A miracle! I wish the same for all... I don’t expect it to continue, but i am grateful...

Mick, hoping that you feel better... it’s a journey! Here’s hoping the rain stops soon...

Lav, wow, you are a wonderful grandparent; hoping that all turns out well for your grandson.

PPQ, giving you extra energy to face all the docs... hope all is well...

Worked on finances today... things aren’t looking brilliant... but I have put out energy to say that i am well and well solvent... All will be well in the end, i am sure...

Sending love to all,.. the moon is growing bigger night by night... heralding a full moon soon... ❤️“

Today - bright, brilliant sunshine...only 16 degrees (F), but no wind, so seems almost like a bright spring day... it will arrive eventually, (probably after a few more snow storms!)
I will wait until it’s a bit warmer, then will head out to walk the path around the little lake. Tons of geese, so i have to watch my step, but i’ll get some sunshine on my face, always a welcome thing. I’ve found a few little piers, so when it’s warmer, i might sit and have a coffee and chat with the geese. They fly over my building, so i see them in their groups regularly - coming and going... i want to ask them where it is that they are hurrying to...

    Wishing all a good Sunday!

      Hey kids,

Happy snowy Sunday. Yes, it snowed all day but we only ended up with an inch or two, that’s plenty!
Dentist tomorrow morning & eye specialist Tuesday afternoon. I’m so popular, haha.

Mick, I wish my grandsons would stick up for one another but they pretty much seem to be on different planets. They’re in different school buildings so they don’t see each other all day.
I was unable to waken my guest this morning & was about to reach under the covers & grab him by the ankle like I used to do to his dad. With that my son walked in. It took him about ten minutes but he did get the kid up, haha!! That’s what happens when you sit up half the night playing on your phone, Lol. I gave up on my Fitbit & just use an app on my phone to keep track of steps & minutes of activity each day. I hope Julie likes her newer version.

Cyn, congrats on the decent sleep, hope it happens again tonight.
I just posted a quote in the Newbies Nest from one of my favorite spiritual leaders Pema Chodron. I think we all need to see this:

"LETTING THERE BE ROOM FOR NOT KNOWING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL. WHEN THERE'S A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT, WE DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S THE END OF THE STORY. IT MAY JUST BE THE BEGINNING OF A GREAT ADVENTURE. LIFE IS LIKE THAT. WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. WE CALL SOMETHING BAD; WE CALL IT GOOD. BUT REALLY WE JUST DON'T KNOW."
She really helped me a lot years ago when I found myself sitting here alone & not knowing what was going on. We can apply these words to most things I think.

PQ, hope you are OK, let us know how you’re doing

Hello to Pauly, Det, Sam & all.

      Have a nice night everyone.

        Re: 13th feb

Hello everyone and how are we today then? Hope all is well well. I drove to Wakefield this morning from 40 miles of the motorway full stop probably one of the worst journeys I have ever done. Just got over the border into Yorkshire and it started snowing that very wet sleety snow full stop it had obviously been doing it for some time I'm because part of the motorway was flooded as well. So visibility was really poor, the roads were really dodgy and on top of that there were two smashes on the way up. I only went up to get a Calor gas bottle changed, they are very scarce over here now apparently we can't get the Steel to Britain to manufacture them. I got about 15 Valentines cards this morning luckily the store detective never caught me ha ha. The rain stopped about an hour ago so guess what I've been doing yes that's right planting primroses and some other Hardy Plants wait a month? I couldn't wait a week! So we shall see looks nice with the colour. I saw two deer this morning in the field just youngsters growing their antlers so funny they were playing the mine's bigger than yours game and wrestling each other. I took a video of it it and put it up on one of the sites on Facebook I don't know if you will be able to see it or not. Just finished television binging on the first series of The Sons of Anarchy. Don't know if anyone has seen it quite a good program

Hiya lav how are you today then? Hope all is well. Yes Julie likes on you new Fitbit charge 5 whatever it is is Kama I got the whole post-mortem on her sleep pattern this morning how long she was in deep sleep for how long she was restless for how long she was moving all that sort of stuff I like the idea but but when I get a machine that is supposed to relieve the stress and I get stressed waiting for it it doesn't really work for me. So you have two separate appointments this week of you? I would give my eye teeth for your social life hahaha(just ignore me I'll go away) take care have a great afternoon

Hiya ppqp how are you doing? Hope all is well haven't heard from you for a couple of days

Hiya teegee well done on getting and decent sleep. So you have found a little piers have you s name isn't Morgan by any chance
I know what you mean about the geese where we are there is a lake about out 30 of 40 m away in the fields. Every night and every day we have got Canada and Brent geese in their squadrons flying over and then returning home. It's amazing to watch they all just take off in one massive Batch and then form up into their respective flights. Hope you have a great day

        Big shout to everyone else

          MAE ALL...

Sorry for being MIA just looked back and appears I haven't posted since Thursday. Where did all those days go! I had a great Friday with most of the afternoon touring the facility with a church group that's thinking of renting long-term. Saturday was a gorgeous day so spent a lot of it outdoors. I don't know what happened to Sunday. LOL I didn't smoke on Saturday and when I went to go to bed I just kept coughing. That continued on Sunday and by Sunday night I bought a pack of smokes. I have to wait till Friday (payday) to get the patch and some of the gum.

Mick...glad your tummy is feeling better, I'm surprised apples are on your list, they always settle my stomach. Sitting for 3 minutes :rotlf: No wonder Julie was laughing. Wow, what a rotten drive to Wakefield. Glad you survived with no accidents. Gig you get the gas bottle changed at least? Good score on the Valentines cards. LOL

TG...wow a 10 hr sleep. You must have really needed it. Thanks for the extra energy I can use it. Doesn't bright sunshine make all the difference! It cooled off here for today and there's no sun. Cool again tomorrow and then it warms up again. We ended up closing the hockey rink, the ice just wasn't safe. I do believe there are more snow storms in store for us too. I think the path and the piers are going to be lovely in the summer. Maybe you can find more people to talk to than just the geese.

Lav...it's supposed to snow tonight here and like you it's not going to amount to much. Hope the dentist went ok today and good luck with the eye doc tomorrow. Kids will be kids, mine were on different planets too. Ah too bad, I would have liked you to yank out of bed by the ankles. What app do you use on your phone to keep track of your steps? I like your quote, I've started say I don't know and am ok with that. Sorry for worrying you, sometime you just don't realize how much time has passed.

So I'm all caught up and you're caught up with me. Hope we all have a good night....:smile:PPQP

            Good evening friends,

Super cold here today but sunny so not too bad.
Had the broken tooth prepped for a crown so I go back in 3 weeks & get it popped on. I’d love to know what I am breaking so many things, haha. I told the dentist I’m considering a liquid diet for the rest of my life to avoid chewing & breaking teeth, Lol. Tomorrow I go to the eye specialist & see what he has to say.

Mick, you’re planting now? Are you sure you will not have any more snow? We can get snow until April around here.
Your road trip sounds scary, glad you made it back home OK. Ijust remembered the Fitbit annoyed me when it buzzed my arm telling me to go take a walk or something haha!! Hope julie has fun with her new device.

PQ, I use an app called Pacer. Just remember to keep your phone in your pocket all day long so it counts every single step you take. It counts steps, minutes of active time & calories burned. Sometimes i can get it to track my bike time too but sometimes it won’t. It tracks you by GPS so you won’t get lost when walking haha.
If you’re going to make Friday your quit date be sure you ditch the smokes. You don’t want to smoke when using the replacement products (because it will make you feel like sh*t).
That smokers cough will disappear after a period of time as your lungs clear themselves

Cyn, I just saw the almost full Snow Moon as I was closing up the chickens.
Hope your day was good & the good sleep pattern continues.

Hello to Pauly, Det & Sam.

            Be well everyone!

              Hi all,

Mick, what a crazy journey to Yorkshire, so glad you safely made it home. Good luck with the planting... we are still in the deep freeze here now, and will be for quite a while... the ground is waaaaaay too hard to even think about planting. (“Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone...”). Yes, i love to see the geese on takeoff and forming their flying groups... will look for the youthful deer video, sounds like it was fun to see.

PPQ, glad to know you are okay. Yes, sounds like quitting is bringing up the bad stuff...up and away, i say! This upcoming full moon is really powerful... lots of energy for new beginnings, so i bet that will help. Take care -

Lav, what a funny story about grandson... do teenagers really sleep that deeply? Wow, i suppose their bodies need it to keep growing... i hope the dentist worked out for you, and also the eye doc today... hope they have some fixes and good news for you. A little warmer here today, and the sun is so bright... it already feels more like spring than i ever remember February feeling... i hate to think that it is global warming... but possibly so. Thank you for that quote, it is so true, right? Circumstances don’t make us content... we can make ourselves content no matter what. Thank you for the great reminder!

Det, thinking of you, and sending lots of support. Same to you, Pauly... hoping the salon gets sorted out.

Hello to all stopping by, and wishing everyone well...

Hello everyone and how are we today then? hope all is well with you. Yet again we are in the middle of a storm it has been pouring down with rain but has stopped for a little while now full stop there is not much rain that even the lawn has got water lying on it and bearing in mind there's an extra 2 inches of height on it since last year. We are supposed to have yet another storm coming I haven't a clue what this one's called but we are an amber warning now. I am nipping out to the shops in a minute so I'll make this quick.

Hiya ppqp glad you're well. Was wondering where you are gone on you are nearly the hunting for list! As for the smoking you know the score never quit quitting! That's good news if you get the long rental on the place . in the meantime take it easy and have a good day

Hiya lav and how are you today then? Yes I put the plants at yesterday just to put some colour into the garden primroses they are quite Hardy. The plants I bought earlier on I have planted up in the greenhouse in horse manure and soil (topsoil) and they are shooting well. Yes must be honest that trip on the motorway was no fun at all. I have driven all sorts of stuff and all sorts of conditions in my life but that probably wants one of the worst Road drives I have done. You and as bad as me with the dentist and breaking teeth. Although to be fair it's a while since I've crunched up any rocks! Hope you get on alright today at the opticians

Hiya teegee how are you today then? hope all is well with you. In the Bleak Midwinter, frosty wind made moan .Earth Stood hard as iron ,water Like a Stone. snow had fallen snow on snow, snow on snow... in the Bleak Midwinter long ago. That came from my memory from a long long time ago! Roughly 51 years! Did you sleep well last night? I hope so take care and look after yourself

                Big shout to everyone else

                  Hello friends,

Saw the corneal specialist today & he confirmed the eye doc’s Dx of a corneal scar likely due to a previous bacterial or herpetic infection, swell. There’s nothing that can be done for it now since there’s no active infection going on, don’t need antibiotics or antivirals. Treatment plan is ‘learn to live with it’ which I am already doing. There’s no buffing out scars on the cornea only transplants & I certainly don’t need one. I’ll just keep up with the lubricating drops since they seem to help with the dryness & discomfort. Thank goodness I have really good peripheral vision.

Cyn, everything is frozen over here too, icicles hanging everywhere. The sun melted some of them enough today they were dropping off the pergola roof & hitting the deck. Preteens are grumpy sleepers, I remember my own kids at that age, Lol. I tell myself each & every morning to choose happiness for the day. We all have plenty of reasons to be sad, lonely or angry but choosing happiness makes all the difference, right?

Mick, more rain for you? I was just reading about the 22 year drought in our southwestern areas. It’s the worst drought since 800 AD & it may go on until 2030. Climate change a little?
I think this aging thing is hard on our teeth. I don’t even have to be eating anything hard for a tooth to break, it’s kinda sad, haha! Take care of your youmg plants, I hope they can swim!!

Hello PQ, I hope your day was good.

                  Hello to Pauly & Det.

                    hello all,

Mick - yes, i figured that you would remember those words... it is one of my favorite xmas hymns, (and not a bad poem either. ) Oh dear, not another storm! Is this usual for winter for you? it seems worse than other winters before... sorry. Here, we have no precip... just the swinging between very cold and ?60 F today? Nuts. Say hello to the hardy primroses, and thank them for their bravery! I hope the bunnies and the deer will be able to get out and about soon. The rain must be no fun for everyone...

Lav, i think i saw on your Nest post that your eye does have damage, but you'll live with it? Our brains are remarkable in being able to do work-arounds... I hope that will be okay for you. I have been watching the Snow Moon also, and this morning I got a startling glimpse of Venus!! I opened the shades because I thought - what is that lamp light way up in the sky? After seeing it, I thought it was a planet, so googled it... Venus. And she will be with in one way or another until June or so. But if you're up early - give a look to where the sun will be coming up... Venus is so bright it is amazing! I listened to a podcast about all the conjunctions and special meanings of this full moon - wowie, lots going on -- an auspicious time to take care of ourselves and break out!

PPQ - you doing okay? i hope work is well, and that you are feeling alright... sending all good wishes.

Pauly, how's life? The kids are so cute in the pics that you post... are you getting a lot of time with the boys?

Det - hoping that things on the home front are coming around... wishing you well -

Take care all - hello to those stopping by - watch for Venus, and relish this fabulous full moon tomorrow!

                      MAE ALL...

Mick...and yet another storm. I was thinking of your lawn too. Can you imagine what it would look like if you hadn't done the extra landscaping! Had another good day, told my boss it's nice to be able to have fun at my job again. He asked me what I meant by that and I said I feel comfortable in just being myself while dealing with clients. He said well I can always yell at you to shut up if you'd like. Told him I'd pass. He is so quick with responses that just crack us up. I look forward to getting up and going to work again.

Lav...good to know the smokers cough will pass. I don't think you step app will work for me as I never carry my phone with me. We got colder temps here and it allowed the Outdoor Rink volunteers to do some repairs and flood the ice this morning. Looks like the school will be able to do their Winter Carnival tomorrow and the childcare kids will do their Olympic games. That's good news as everyone was disappointed. At least you know what the eye issue is, glad it wasn't an eye stroke. Glad your peripheral vision is good, my Dad had the opposite, my Dad had the opposite, Retinitis pigmentosa which effects the peripheral vision first. It is hereditary so I'm being monitored for it annually. So far so good.

TG...I'm doing good, actually I notice a big difference when I got up this morning. I found I could take deep breaths and there was no inflammation. I had taken by biologic injection last night and it really makes a big difference. Last time I talked to my rheumatologist about flare-ups she said she could increase the dosage to every 3 weeks but would prefer not to. Of course quitting smoking will make a big difference.

I saw both TG and Lav's green lights on when I went to post and thought I'd wait. I think I'm going to post in the mornings so I don't have to catch up with 2 days conversations. LOL Boss heard from the PG today saying that she would give him an update after she sees her Dr. again today. Sounds like she's not planning on coming back. Gotta say all the customers (and staff) are quite happy to not have her around. She just up and left at the worst possible time. I've got lots of projects on the go with community events and I'm just glad I don't have her to deal with her while I work it all out.

Thinking of the rest of the gang. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

and here we are folks in the middle of storm Eunice ...90mph winds blowing in ...good job I cancelled my hairdressers appointment .Ive just written to Prince Andrew to see if he can finance me ..apparently he is giving lots of money out to people he has never met ..hope we are all good ..Julie off work today..We are trying to find a new care company for her dad ...they forgot to deliver him a meal yesterday...A lot of the caring profession in care homes and home living helpers have gone ..A lot of them were foreign workers ,who exited Britain when we Brexited Europe .the trouble is people over here ...and not all of them are quite content sitting on their fat backsides sponging off the state ....on a rant . both rabbits are lying in front of the radiator ..not surprised this storm is a bad one .

hiya ppqp ...hows you then? yes the cough will go over time ..its your lungs getting rid of the junk ..sipping warm water helps .The lawn looks abit tatty at the moment but thank goodness it isnt flooded.....yet ..If the office is quieter and more settled then the loss of the pg is no drama ..You could do that job standing on your head ..take care and have a good one .

hiya teegee and how are you today? hope all is well ...yes it not only is a carol but as you say is also a good 2 line stanza poem..I am looking at the weather now ...it is blowing horizontal rain !!!and the horses are still in the fields .,and the farmer is dropping bags of carrots for them ..hope you have a good day

hiya Lav ...hope all is well..At least you know what the issue is ..You sound the same as me ...eyes are very important ...and no one is messing with them ..Ive heard of a few laser jobs that have gone wrong .Everything frozen there? swop you for some rain ...yep the young plants are doing ok ..you take care ...

hiya pauly you doing ok?det hows you doing mate

I hope Prince Andrew hasn't agreed a massive settlement in his sex abuse case.

What with fuel bills sky high as well, we're going to struggle to pay it.

Huge queues are forming at Buckingham Palace on news that Prince Andrew is giving away huge amounts of money to people he has never met.

15 year old Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva has argued her positive drugs test was due to contamination with her grandad's medicine.

Her grandad, Russian over 70's body building champion, was unavailable for comment.

I'm not saying staff at my local WalMart are inept, but I've used self checkout twice and I've already been named Employee of the Month!!

Prince Andrew need not feel too bad. Even if he does forfeit his public duties permanently, he can always get a job with the BBC.

Prince Andrew has had more victories in court.

                        Than Donald Trump...

Sunny & 55c degfrees here today, heading up to 60+ tomorrow. Don’t mean to make Mick jealous or anything, haha! The winter will be making a return soon I hear.
Took advantage of the nice day &went out for a haircut, a stop at the grocery store & gave my grandson a ride home from school

Cyn, we have been looking at Venus for quite a while from here. It’s been very bright & visible. I read today we should be ready for some powerful changes over the next two weeks so hang on tight everyone.
I believe I have adapted pretty well for the visual deficit. What choice do we really have in these situations? I’m really grateful for the drops with flax seed oil, they make both eyes feel much better. Never even knew there was such an eye drop

PQ, I’m not sure I ever actually looked forward to going to work so good for you!!! You deserve a happy, decent workplace, glad you finally have one.
I had an old friend from high school who lost most all of her vision due to RP. I don’t even know how she is these day, lost touch after she moved to North Carolina. I hope nothing like that is in your future.

Mick, thanks for the video evidence of Eunice, geez. I hope Julie got home OK.
I’m pretty sure we’re going ti get something like that here pretty soon. I know someone who had terrible laser burns with her eye surgery, it was sad. I won’t be going there, believe me!

Hello to Pauly, Det & Sam. Hope everyone is doing well.

Have to go tuck the chickens in & then hop on my bike.
                          Have a nice night all!

                            MAE ALL...

We got walloped last night and nobody predicted it. Woke up to -15C/5F and 6 inches of snow. Everybody forgot how to drive in winter with lots of accidents. At least the school was happy to have their Winter Carnival.

Mick...sounds like you're really getting it. Looked pretty soggy in the video. Can you pm me Prince Andrews address? All our homecare companies are hurting for staff. The increase in people wanting to stay in their homes is unprecedented. Hope you guys can sort something out for Julie's Dad. The rabbits look so cute in front of the radiator. Thanks for the tip with warm water, I'll give it a try.

Lav...I remember when I first started at the community centre, 10 years ago, it was a life saver and I loved it. I'm so glad to get that feeling back. With RP that is exactly what's in the future. Even though it's hereditary my doc hasn't seen any signs of it yet. The thing I would miss the most is reading but I guess there's always audio books. Hope you can enjoy some warm weather for awhile, we had about 3 weeks of it.

Shout out to everyone else. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

                              Hello all -

Lav, I got up early just to see Venus, but all was overcast... glad she'll be sticking around for awhile. Yep, I read that this moon has a big field of influence as well... I tried to change up some things today, and it gave me a little more courage! Good luck with the eye - as you say, one's attitude is 99% of how the day goes... hoping things will stay stable for you.

PPQ - loved your story about the boss and his quick wit... what a change from a year ago! So glad you are working in a "happy place" now. Wow, so the Winter Carnival really came along well - perfect. Good luck with all the health things... so glad that quitting the smokes is on the list... that will eventually improve so many things. Sending you good energy for health.

Mick, the video was so green! Then I noticed the slashing rain... but I have to say that the spots of color from the primroses was beautiful. So sorry to hear about needing to search out more health care - who would leave a person without their meal?!?! Sheesh. Sorry that getting people for the jobs is such a trial. Same here in the states, I'm sure, I just haven't heard about it. Thx for the pics of the rabbits - they are so tailored and perfect-looking... one has to look twice to make sure they are real! Hope Julie got home okay - hope you are feeling better.

Wishing all a great new start with this magnificent full moon, and Venus watching over us...
