    10th April

Hiya all..quick jump in to start the Fred.lovely day here today..frosty again last night but soon cleared. Off out soon for a meal, though in honesty if I could get out of it I would..and that isn't me.I am getting back in touch with the dentist in the morning..see if they can see me at short notice.
My metal detecting friend messaged me last night. It never worked with his wife so they have put her on the palative care pathway. Talk about feeling helpless.
Checked the van over this morning make sure it's OK.. planted up onions and gladioli, did some more work on the trains, and started cleaning the cooker. Apart from that a quiet day.hope everyone is okay

    Good evening Mick & friends

Chilly & miserable all day until 5 pm when the sun suddenly made an appearance. I’d love to get out & walk but my feet & knees are requesting a break. I roasted a chicken (not one of mine, haha), baked potatoes & sautéed zucchini & red onion for dinner, pretty good. I’ve been stitching up more things for upcoming sales, staying busy.

Mick, sorry your mouth is still troubling you. Hope the meal was nice anyway.
Sorry about your friend’s wife, that’s sad.
You have a great way of keeping yourself busy & out of trouble just like me

Hello to PQ, Cyn, Pauly, Det & Sam. Hope everyone is OK.
    Have a nice night all!

Hello Everyone and how are we today then? Hope all is well. Went out for a meal last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The fact that I had taken loads of pain killers before I went out Really helped
. I managed to eat a mixed grill And enjoyed it. Unfortunately afterwards I paid the price and was up most of the night. Phoned the dentist 1st thing this morning and managed to get an appointment. He took one look at it and said it was infected, Drained it, Put some magic smelly stuff in there, And a week's worth of amoxycillin 3 times Daily. still sore but on the mend .This was Julies official first day of retirement ,without feeling ill ..she enjoyed it .Overcast today ,but dry .New Karcher arrived so drive paths and stone will be getting blasted down ..

hiya Lav ,hows you then?all good hopefully.welldone to you one stitching .

hiya pauly nice to see ya.

big shout to everyone else ..

          Greetings friends,

Nice sunny day here & I’m actually sitting out on the deck since it’s not as chilly. Warming up to 80 degrees later this week, wow.
Went to an Amish plant farm today & bought Easter plants to take to the cemeteries tomorrow. Was going to drop in to see my daughter again but she had to switch her work schedule so I won’t be doing that. I’ll find somewhere to waste time in my old home town while YB is at his meeting.

Pauly, hope you are well & your day was good!

Mick, glad you got in to see the dentist. The antibiotic will help, been there & done that myself not too long ago. Glad to hear you enjoyed your dinner & also glad Julie is better.
Take it easy until you’re feeling better too

Hello to PQ & Cyn, Det & Sam.

            MAE ALL...

Last weekend we had all 4 seasons during the day. This week our high will be below freezing! The arctic air today was bitterly cold. They're calling for some snow tonight but nothing that will stick around. It's supposed to warm up on Sunday. Geesh!

Pauly...hope you had a good day.

Mick...and you were taking such good care with your tooth. Like Lav says, the amoxycillin should help. Glad you were able to enjoy your meal out though. Glad Julie was finally able to have her official first day of retirement. Had to look up Karcher, pressure washer? Did you buy it, they're a little pricey. No climbing a ladder to wash out the gutters.

Lav...at least it was sunny here. I spent no time outside today! I was back and forth to the community centre all weekend, keeping an eye on the cleaning guy that started Saturday with 2 events happening. Boss said he had zero confidence in him. He is a bit strange but has always been that way. He and his wife used to do Friday/Saturday event take downs and cleaning but they haven't been here for at least 4 years. He did fine. The Easter plants sound lovely and I'm sure you'll keep yourself busy. Got the newsletter articles off to the publisher so now I can take a breather. Spent time getting the website updated for the opening of the tennis courts May 1st. That ought to stop some of the phone calls/emails asking about the courts. Looking forward to the 4 day weekend coming up until I realized I'd booked lab work and my respiratory specialist for Monday. Oh well.

Waves to Sam, Det & TG. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

Hello everyone and how are we today ? Hope everyone is doing well. Just got a message from my friend, His wife passed away last night, That is less than 2 days after The hospital said they could do no more. His family are around him now, But me and my other friend will take him out Metal detecting as soon as we can, He couldn't get out very often recently because of looking after his wife.
Twitter still sore but in the grand scheme of things That is really immaterial.
Not really got a lot to say just wanted to make sure I posted. Apologies for the short and miserable post!

                MAE ALL...

Woke up to snow this morning and it's been snowing off and on all day. Plus there's a bitter wind. Being keeping inside that's for sure.

Mick...your posts are never miserable. Sorry to hear about your friends wife, I remember you telling us about him/her before. Glad he's got family around him. I think going detecting with him is a great idea. Hope your mouth eases up soon, you've had enough of teethe issues.

Lav...I'm sure your post will come along soon. I'll check back later.

Have an eye appointment first thing in the morning. Of course it's scheduled during the snow. At least I'm not out east, they are headed for the worst blizzard in history. Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all.....:smile:PPQP

                  Greetings friends,

Easter flowers delivered to the graves, American flags as well. I need to order more flags as they keep disappearing, geez.
Sunny & bright here today, no complaints.

Mick, very sorry to hear about your friend’s wife. Sometimes a fast exit is better because watching a loved one suffer is torture
Hope you are feeling better soon & can resume your detecting activities & whatnot.

PQ, sorry about the snow, ugh. No one wants that the week of Easter, geez.
There’s a big system dumping 1-3 feet of snow across the central US today - that sucks
Grateful to be sitting on the deck watching the birds & listening to the bees buzzing around.

Hello to Cyn, Pauly, Det & Sam. Hope everyone is doing well.

                  Have a nice night all!

And good morning to you all.how are we today then?hope all is well it is 0605..woke up about 3 but managed to get back to sleep. It's lovely hearing the birds of the dawn chorus.
Jeeves did his usual stunt yesterday..pigged out on food and then his tummy swells and he can't get rid that's when gut stasis sets in and is very dangerous for them ended up medding him and massaged his tummy and got it moving just been to see him now. He is fine

Hiya lav how are you doing?all good I hope. Your post reminded me ,I need to go and check Julie's mums grave .was going to pressure wash t the drive today...and guess what....raining!Julie got her final money from the prison service yesterday, so that's the final closure .I chucked a load of seeds all over the garden. The bee mix stuff..it's starting to come through hope you have a good day

Hiya ppqp..how are you today,?have you still got the snow?the tooth area is definitely getting better. Still painful but more throbbing than anything else. I take it with the snow the gardens aren't getting too much work?if you can,try and get them to grow tomatoes. There is a massive shortage of them.Take care and have a great day

Hiya pauly hope all is good.

Big shout to everyone else on here.

                      good morning,
PQ, sounds like old man winter isn't quite through yet. Suppose to be in the 80's here today, too hot. Been working around here getting stuff done, wedding in less than a month now and the biggest pain is picking up walnuts in the yard. Never should there be a walnut tree in the yard and we have 3 of them! Today I'm actually going to do some paying work, coffer's are getting low. Off to it friends.... later

                        Re: 10th April

                        Hello dear friends,

I've just read back from the middle of last week's thread, so hoping now I can keep up. My friend passed away early last Saturday morning. Her son and DIL were able to be close by, so that is a comfort. My friend was a Person of Note in the area (and beyond) so we immediately went into Press mode. I had been the "communicator" with close friends since she went into the hospital, texting or emailing them twice a day, keeping them up to speed with what was going on. I am continuing to do that, plus the summer music festival i work at really owes its existence to this generous benefactor, so I have been managing some of the messaging there as well. Haven't slept a full night's sleep until last night. I flew home on Monday. What day is today? Not sure...

Mick, so sorry about the teeth, but glad you got checked out. Good news on the new help for Julie's dad. So happy that Julie got a celebration dinner for her freedom. Jeeves! when will he ever learn. Good luck with the bee's flowers.

PPQ, things sound like they are really hopping at the center... congrats on all you are handling.

Pauly, so nice to hear from you! I hope the new job is good... I find being busy a great help to each day, I hope you do too...

Sam, weird weather here too - it was 90 here in NE yesterday (!) today is 29... and in between massive storms and tornadoes. Here we had high winds and rain, but close by the tornadoes did their dirty work. I spent some time hiding in the bathroom of my apartment... seemed the safest place.

Lav, your outside work sounds lovely. Thank you for the reminder to get flowers and flags on the graves... Until this spring I have always lived too far away to do that, but now I am here in the same town, so I will make a plan. Hope you can mix outside fun with your embroidery work and cooking. Sounds like a good balance...

Hello to anyone I've missed... sending warm greetings to all... hoping that I will get some energy back today...

                          AE ALL…
The doc has decided he needs to Laser my eye. It’s the one I had cataract surgery on 5 years ago and it’s starting to grow over again. At least it’s just a 5 minute zap and I’m out of there. Can’t get in till July 8th though. As long as the Iritis isn’t back I’m happy.

Lav…Sunny and bright here but I have lots of complaints! It’s been snowing off and on again today and there is a bitterly cold wind blowing, bringing the wind-chill temp down -17C/1F. Nice that you got the graves looked after but I’m afraid those flags will keep disappearing. Things are supposed to warm up on Sunday, glad I don’t have to go hiding Easter eggs. That snowstorm in the central US is wreaking havoc with Eastern Canada. They’ve actually closed the highway ahead of the storm, first time that’s been done.

Mick…still got the snow and more to come. Glad the tooth area is getting better. No work being done in the gardens not until at least the May long weekend. OK, tomatoes it is. LOL I guess Jeeves is going to do what he wants. Good thing he’s got you to nurse him back to health.

Sam…nope, the old man is hanging on. I agree, the 80’s is too hot. Wedding less than a month, that’ll be here before you know it. Good to know about the walnut tree I won’t plant one. LOL

TG…sorry to hear about your friend. Glad her son and DIL were able to be close by. Sounds like you’ve been busy keeping everyone up to date, that’s a lot of work. I’m glad you’re home safe and sound and hopefully can get some more sleep. Take some time for yourself. Thanks for the congrats, yup things are definitely in full gear here at work.

Shout out to Det & Pauly. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                            Good evening friends,

It hit 79 degrees today, wow! Easter Sunday will be a bit chillier at 52 - whatever.
Trying to split my time between house chores, animal care, cooking & embroidery & of course getting an hour of walking in each day. No rest for the elderly, haha!!!!

Mick, sounds like Jeeves is giving you a run for the money, geez. Good that you caught on to his predicament early.
Also glad Julie got the money coming to her, makes a good retirement nest egg
You should be feeling much better in a day or two, Amoxicillin is a little miracle drug in my book.

Sam, good to see you. Walnut trees are a giant mess. My daughter’s neighbor has one & half the walnuts fall into her yard. She was just complaining about that yesterday.
Good luck clearing out the walnuts before the wedding, haha!

PQ, sorry about your eye situation. It’s good that they can just laser it off & be done quickly.
Also sorry about the snow situation, ugh. Be careful out there.

Cyn, so sorry to hear about your friend. I’m glad you’re finally back in your own home, maybe you can begin to catch upon some rest.
I’ve been watching weather reports & can’t believe what’s going on out your way. Glad you’re safe & not traveling right now. Very gracious of you to keep everyone informed of events but I hope you can rest a little now.

                            Hello to Pauly & Det.

Well it continues to snow off and on and it's overcast, cold and downright miserable. Looking forward to 4 days off and doing nothing!

Lav...sounds like you are keeping yourself busy, no rest for the elderly LOL. My eye has been bugging me all day, not hurting just making itself know. Probably on my mind since the doc visit yesterday.

Not much else happening for me. Easter will be a quiet event at my place.
