    new poem

    still
    a creature survives
    "alochol"
    undefeated yet gasping
like the bull panting dust in the fighting ring of a mexico sun
    i too
    try to rise
    prehaps 3 miles
    awkard, flimsy and in pain
    kicking off
    the matador of my memories
    reversing christ
    changing wine into water (jl)

    new poem

Once again, Jay, a beautiful poem. I could only wish for a talent like yours. I hope you are writing these such that you could compile a book of poetry. I would buy it to keep.

There is a country (USA) song about turning wine back into water. It is definitely not in the freestyle ee cummings style that you write but I love the song and its meaning.

If you don't like it, no worries. I like so many different styles and genres.

wine into water song and poem

Love it, Jay. You make me read, feel and wonder .... life without AL.

        It is possible. Thanks, Buddy.

                  new poem

hope its ok to put one more piece on here it helps me to write and stay sober
this is a piece i wrote in a tribute to friend of mine

                  (f/craig)

                  i, remember a loverof distance
and imagine how your inner empire grew
                  whilst particpating in that immensity
                  yes! awareness affirmed you
                  but its embrace wieghed heavy
for it disclosed " longing"..that arid ground
where all separate hearts attempt to fly upward
yet in youth ,i also attempted beginings
                  some with you
remembering trains we took , journeys on foot
                  but mostly continuing alone
immersed then in the daily tasks of being
                  i returned only occasionally
                  to memories receeding shore
but still that tangled yearning grew
yours leading to deeper depths than mine
                  annulling time
                  as absence rooted there
                  for tell me!
                  in these forced intervals
                  who accepts us here
                  does god utter his unknowings
or prehaps just fate possesses us
so again drawing again those similar near
                  if only but too briefly
                  for now
                  only i remain (jl)
