Oh, I believe that Bear had his redemption and salvation. I know in my heart of hearts that God welcomed him with arms wide open.

Very sad news about our beloved Bear

Extremely sad. He was one of the first people I was impressed with when I first came on here. I thought MD meant medical doctor. He was/is always so wise. But what touched me most was that he deeply,deeply cared and became committed to trying to help several people in a very personal and detailed way here, esp some young ones. And I am sure many more that I did not see.

His was a fascinating life to ponder and a beautiful soul to behold.

But I want to pile on for a good man who helped beyond measure, and will be missed beyond measure.

To his family and loved ones, you have my deepest sympathies. If he moved those of us on this board to this degree, I can only imagine what he must have meant to you.

I never really had the opportunity to get to know Bear but I have taken the time to read some of his previous posts today and I so wish I had. I can only echo the sentiments of everyone else here and say how saddened I am to hear of his untimely departure from this world and my prayers go out to all his family.

Dear "Bear" Family,

I have been around the "My Way Out" forum for a long time, but rarely post, although I read the posts almost daily. I loved to read anything that Bear had to say. There was so much wisdom, gentleness and warmth in his words. I often thought, "I wish I could meet this guy." He reminded me of my father who died with 20 plus years of sobriety. Even though my dad drank through a good portion of my childhood, his love and kindness always shone through and that is the memory I am left of with him lifts my spirit.
May the glory of Bear shine through you! Peace and blessings.
