Sorry ltg, o2m e, and anyone else in cyberspace! Had to go put some laundrey on to wash, dishes, etc. pick figs, medicate dogs, get dressed, etc............. I'm aabout 1 1/2 hr from Paula's. Have all her cookbooks I can find! She looks JUST like my BF Gail, and talks like her too! Go thru stages with my cooking. Right now, I'm 'puttin' by', canning, freezing, saving for the winter. It's an ingrained family habit that's dying out now with the younguns'. LTG, I haven't heard much about your cards but sounds like a wonderful idea! My family keeps trying to get me to use some of my 'talents' as they call them to do things, and I'm ready to get started! Evie sounds like she knows a lot about the deep South, as we call our area. I will always be connected to this land. My family goes back in this country to the beginning of colonization, and before with mine and my husbands Native American heritage. Didn't mean to get so deep, but it's part of who I am. o2m, daughters in-laws are Tuckers, and have visited Ireland. Daughter says it was the greenest place she ever saw!

Yeah Ruby,Paula is a real southern lady.My fathers family is OLD VIRGINIA and Grandma taught me to curtsy when I was 3yrs. old.I am eligible for D.R.A but never got into it...

Loved Ireland especially the North Coast and Giant causeway...Newgrange was awsome too..Cork City market rocked my boat and Dublin was charming as long as I didn't have to drive.CYM is incredible...Cake for us all..What a SWEETHEART..

Wow, Evie, we may be kin! George Washington's g/grandfather was was my ancestor, and all my family started in VA. DAR is Daughters of the American Revolution, & I could join too. May do it for my children,grandchildren' geneology. Family has fought in all American wars.

Just realised as well that when im not drinking, im eating LOADS... the weight is gonna pile on if im not careful. Ive gone from 8st to 8st 10 in a couple of weeks

Ladies.....the cake is ready! Just got a couple of finishing touches to do in the morning and ill take a big photo and post it. Its Evies birthday and who elses sorry? All the drugs and alc over the years have given me a memory like a siv!!

Well, its all pretty much ready to eat. Hey i said id bake a cake! I enjoy cooking and its a pleasure to do it and be part of the birthday celebrations. I felt alot of pride in making it and am looking forward to showing it tmr morning(my time).
O2m...Threre was no particular recipe to this to be honest..I was just going with the flow! I got some king prawns, put them in a bowl with some butter, olive oil, ginger and garlic puree and some chilli powder and cut up some olives with pimento. Left it to marinade for about 30 mins. I finely chopped some shallots i had left over and added them to some plain rice.
covered the bowl with the prawns, put it in the oven for 10 and served it with the rice. Turned out o.k too! Going to have duck spring rolls tnt.
