The grains of sand on oceans' rims are separate entities.
Each falling free through wind and time, prey to each pirate breeze.
Not any single one may grow throughout eternity.
Till timeless ocean waves form bonds of endless unity.
No single blade of grass may quilt a cover on the earth.
No one green shoot may feed the host of creatures from their birth.
Yet swaying seas of summer winds of green may valleys gird
And flower fields with siren calls to bees and winging bird.
As shadows flee before the light, as snow before the sun,
A soul may search for kindred hearts that destiny alone
May grant but rarely, in each life, to precious few, while some
Will never know the eagles flight of singing spirit's tune.
Savour long the golden times, bask in the fleeting glow.
Hold not too dear the roses' bloom, lest secret thorns will show
To sting the claimed possessor of the gem one cannot own,
Til grasping hands clutch at the wind and find the heart alone.
Lock memories in keyless vaults through time that never ends.
Heal with the balm of love the scars of pain you may amend.
Allow your life to mesh with all whose needs you comprehend.
Listen to the wordless song, and know your name ~ my friend.
