Army Thread 1st December 2008
Hi all
Lots of people still up for a change. Hope you all had a good day. Lately when I have logged it just makes me feel sad and down to see so many people struggling. I used to feel uplifted and positive about it all and want to try to help but now it just depresses me. I dunno maybe its just part of the cycle of MWO life that at first when you join you yourself are down and need help and then when you are getting there on your way you can be strongly supportive of others as you identify with where there are at having been there yourself recently and then as your new life becomes more normal you sort of dont feel that you can be as much help to others. I dunno I just feel weird about the whole thing lately. Anyone else feel like that or is it just me!

I don't know if I am getting this right, but I get really discouraged about talking to some of the newbies, and about talking to so many of them. Once in a while I take a break, and if it seems to be going nowhere I just have to stop.
Anyhow... good night, all I am going out to dinner with friends...

Sorry guys it is probably missing a few full stops! Previously when I logged in I used to feel positive and excited about telling/helping people to know there is a way out etc and now when I log in I dont feel like that as so many are struggling and not getting it and I dont feel that anything I say can really help. Maybe I am just in a bad mood today. I need cake!
Oney I hope you have a great holiday in NY. Spend like as if there is no tomorrow!

Yes WIP I think you are right.
I probably need a break from it all over the xmas maybe its starting to get me down - not sure why. I will just post on here for a while I think and not look at any of the rest of it. Hope that doesnt sound selfish. This is probably another stage of the recovery process I imagine - needing to move on from MWO at some point. If you went to real rehab rather than virtual rehab you might want to visit with all the folks you met there for a while afterwards (especially if it was Colin Farrell) but you probably wouldnt hang around rehab forever. Hope you have a great dinner with your friends.
Oney - where is bandit she doesnt seem to have been around for a while. We are relying on her for organising our accomodation for the marathon. I will be booking my flights soon - there is great deal on Emirates at the moment and I get two stop overs for free.

BH,
I get that feeling at times. At times I just don't feel like talking to ANYBODY. It comes and goes but I am kind of that way socially anyway so I just chalk it up to my PERSONALITY. Some days I'm just not feeling very friendly, if you know what I mean. Krigs

Here's my take on it. Sometimes I feel like I spend so much time "babysitting" newbies that just don't seem to really want a plan, they just want to vent - then go drink again. And sometimes they post so much on their own threads that the cries of those truly committed to a life change get lost in the shuffle of new posts. I hope I am making sense here. Kinda half thinking about this and half thinking about Evielou.:l
