Have you seen the commercial about people who don't have med insurance where the man is wrapping duct tape around himself to try to fix a hernia? His wife calls from the other room saying she has a terrible headache, then you see him wrapping her head in tape. ROFL!!!

Rubes, thats a great plan. The fitter and healthier you are the easier it will be.
Do you smoke? When I broke my leg the surgeon said it would never heal while I smoked

Jan '08 (yes, I was drinking!) I was playing hide and seek w/my g'daughter and ran across our frozen deck at cabin. Slipped, foot twisted backward and I fell on it. Broke my leg, ankle in 2 places, foot in 4 places.

Doc I saw today is a good friend. He gave me website to check out shoes with springs in the soles. LOL I'm going to check them out. I also have degenerative bone disease in my spine, and the main nerve to my left side is badly pinched, so along with the MS, I tend to trip or lose my balance a lot. I first started to drink years ago because I was in pain and couldn't find a doc who would help me. Things are SO much better now, I have great docs.

Zen, don't get me started on hospitals and infections. That's what my mom died from, not her cancer or heart condition, but the sepcis she got from surgery. I will not go to a hospital unless I'm DYING!!!

I DO have a lot of med problems, but others are so much worse off, I don't allow myself any pity.Kevin, doc I saw today, tells me he wishes his other patients had my attitude, 'cause many of them just want drugs. Docs would give me any narcotic I asked for, but I've taken the same med, same strength, same #, I've been taking for years. If I took enough to not have any pain every day, I would be constantly stoned.

I learned from my research that 'chasing pain' by increasing the dosage is a BIG mistake. That's why I don't do it. I hope good things will happen now for her. I can't believe you were told you had no rights. With Momma, the DOCTORS told us we were hiring them, they and the hospital worked for us, and no one could tell us what we could and couldn't do. Some of the nurses really hated us!!

That's great, Zen. Try not to let her increase things again. It will get to the same place again! I hope she gets home soon!!
