Opal, we were at the Babyland General Hospital (where Cabbage Patch kids originated) just down the road from our cabin years back with my Momma and her sister. When a handmade baby is 'born', they ask the viewers for a name, and when a baby girl was 'born', we named it Opal Pearl, after my Momma and her sister! LOL

Good for you Tips for having the courage and the honesty to tell him. (As much as he NEEDS to know). I think he will appreciate it.

Tippy2 is fine, he doesn't know he's small coz his eyes aren't open yet!
When he sees the size of Starty, Grim and Pops in another week he might need to go along to your sessions to treat his small man syndrome

Fair enough. But the old cynic in me says keep as much off it private as possible because not many people understand fully and the job market is a jungle at the moment everywhere.

I hear you. I'll be very circumspect.

Luckily, working in a large corporate, and with SA labour laws, there is good job security. We even have what they call an Employee Wellness Program, where they will pick up the costs of counselling, but I prefer to pay for that privately.

Our company is also fortunate in the sense that we have had no retrenchments. The most we're expecting is not to get bonuses next year. They really do invest a lot in staff wellbeing. From health assessments (very detailed), to financial workshops, bursaries for kids etc. etc.

I also have a very solid relationship with him. It is not just a strict manager-employee setup.

I know when my mother rang my Dads job and told them he was an alcoholic....without him knowing I might add....they were very good and called him in the next day, addressed the problem and put him into rehab and paid all the costs..

Maybe people are more understanding than I give them credit for so. It is just that I am a very private person and dont find it easy to share personal stuff face to face.
