    Childbirth, the major cause of death during this era. My granddaddy was about 18 mos, and she died while pregnant. I have a daggerotype of her, she was beautiful.

      Its such a shame, isn't it? To die in one's early 20s from a complication of pregnancy?

      Interestingly, can't quite see clearly, but my Dad was born on 21 Nov 1920 and died 15 June 1990!

        Really cool historical stuff, Ruby! The old cemeteries and headstones are fascinating. Tigger's getting quite a history lesson, and so are we.
