Army Thread 11th May
Morning wirly cirly stirly girly,
I'm just gonna have just one more cup of coffee, then start the encouragement (ie nagging) for the son and heir for the final two weeks of uni.
2 essays and 2 exams, then the really hard work begins. The search for a job.It could be worse, I could be filing.

I get like that too sometimes and found it is best to get up and sort things. But like a switch in my head that wont turn off.
Hi Stirly, I always enjoy your pictures.
Oney I am using safari and firefox at the moment, both fine. Do you have another browser installed?
JC I heard about those things called jobs, apparently there are loads in a place called 'jeopardy' cause I am always hearing about more jobs in jeopardyEthanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Yep. These days that's a toughie. I have to say I am very proud of both of my sons. Older son started working at McDonalds the very next day after he finished high school and continued to work until he finished college. Then got a job at a computer company and then another until he started his own business. He's been self-employed for about two years now and is doing really well in spite of the economic crisis. Younger son started out delivering ad pamphlets before he finished high school then had a variety of part-time jobs during university and then a full-time job with a environmental studies company. Plus working part-time at a flower shop. He now works in our family business and is doing very well indeed. Neither of them have ever been unemployed that I can remember since they got their first jobs. I guess it's a matter of taking what comes your way until you get where you want to be. Best of luck to him Jackie. Nothing worse than doing all that work to get your degree and not be able to find a job. Very frustrating.JackieClaire;853677 wrote: Morning wirly cirly stirly girly,

KT, he's already applied for loads and loads and my heart breaks for him each time he gets a turn down.
He's even thought about teaching but it'll be another 2 years before he can get into college to do the training.
Oney we're using firefox at the moment too.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Jackie - the right thing will come along at the right time. Just tell him to not give up hope. He'll find something...JackieClaire;853687 wrote: KT, he's already applied for loads and loads and my heart breaks for him each time he gets a turn down.

Safari is macs own generic browser Oney, but I think you can get it for PC. Its grand but nothing special, really a matter of which interface people prefer cause they should all work just as well.
You could try opera, netscape or IE either. I think they are all free downloads.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Good for him. At least he won't feel like he's dependent on someone else for spending money....JackieClaire;853691 wrote: Stirly, he's lucky that he's actually got a part-time job with Ben and Jerry's and can turn that into full time over the summer, so he's got some pennies coming in.For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.
