morning to all...things have gone a bit pear shaped it seems......hope nothing that cannot be patched up. Sending nasty pm's seems very childish when I thought this was a forum for adults. Hopefully reggie comes back.

Well start of day 7 today. I phoned my mother this a.m. Big deal you say. Well, she usually has a dig at me cos of my drinking habits, today was no exception.....I told her ofmy plans to go a 3 day retreat of healthy shit soon, her reply was "better than being in a hotel room full of white wine". You know what? I don't need those sorts of remarks. I don't need her judgements. Does she think she's a fly on the wall seeing everything I do? So I told her I'm having an af stint...nothing.....no reaction, just carried on talking like I hadn't said a word.
It set me to wondering. My sister is a pothead & nico smoker, I'm a drinker. Maybe she thrives on OUR problems so she doesn't have to focus on her own? Her father was an alco, her mother paranoid schizo, mum used to drink but stopped about 15 yrs ago.She's a Buddhist, into all sorts of meditation which I would have thought to be a good thing. However i find her attitude increasingly hypocritical of those philosophies she follows.
No wonder i don't talk much to her about my issues. It just reaffirms my resolve to keep this to myself. Almost as a defiance act? Maybe. I will do what I want, not what she wants. Period.
last night had 2 revelations, watchin my husband drink large amounts of red wine. I had 3 glasses,slowly.
1) He does NOT MAKE ME drink
2) I DO NOT have to keep up with him

Sorry about the ramblings. I'm going to send mr g a really nasty pm to make him feel important. Hello to everyone here yet to check in. A lovely day here today (but us whingeing farmers would still prefer rain) so may get the chance to do some horse (not house!) work this arvo.

Hmmmm ... mothers. Mine is in an Aged Care facility in Melb. Last time I visited, (after a 20min drive to bus stop, an hour bus ride, a 1hr 20 min train ride, a $28 taxi fare) the first thing she says to me "do you need to use my comb?" Her subtle(?!) way of telling me my hair looked shit.

Why anyone would send nasties to Reggie is beyond me. Fidiots.

Penthouse Chookhouse is up, solid and stable. Tomorrow I'll just chamfer the edges of a length of pine to serve as the perch. I am happy.

Doesn't seem unreasonable to expect that from a mother, especially a Buddhist one.
I suppose our parents are but human as well. I know we disappoint them, but they disappoint us too.
