    Hey Jan, would I be ok in my retreat in Puerto de la cruz should I ever make it then? Should be cooler there I would have thought.
    Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

            Hiya KT,
            yep on the north west coast it is a bit cooler and the greenery keeps it cooler, but it is hot up there as well..
            the whole islands have been hit and doesn't look like any let up in the next couple of days..
            thuy've even closed the airport before coz of it..
            it's like a haze..
            sort of like fog but full of sand and unbearable heat..
            very dangerous for sunbathing..
            but you still get the nuts that lay out in it..
            and then end up in the hospital with heatstroke.....

            so it's anywhere shady with lots of fluids..
            I think I might get one of the A/C units, my casa isn't very big so it should cool it down.
            reckon I might be able to get one for about 180-200 euros...

            but it's a lot of dosh when I'm saving up for Ollie home..
            coz he's gonna need everything new..
            all his clothes I gave to the centre,
            and when I have bought new things for him, they keep them.......!
            I didn't know that what goes up there stays up there..
            so when he comes home it will be just in the togs he stands up in......!!!!!!!!!!

            but thats ok with me.....

                Hi Everyone, just on a lunch break from this microsoft event, jees the recession is really showing here.. lunch consisted of a few corn beef sandwiches and water!

                    Sorry on the phone. Stirly, that looks really gorgeous. I have been to several places in Greece over the years, lovely country. First time I was there was in the early 80s and boy were the islands rural back then. Couldnt buy property back then and I think it was only in recent years us foreigners can.

                        Ok I think I will turn my yacht towards the med so, maybe down as far as Crete, have to be careful I dont run into any israeli commandos though.
                        You can get bits and pieces as you need them, surely he wont need much in that heat.

                                Actually Jan, this particular island is not one of the tourist islands. The tourists here are Greeks, mainly people who drive down for a weekend to enjoy the natural mineral and mud bath spas they have here. That's what this town is known for. Later I'll post some pics we took on the way to this town. I was blown away by the greenery.
