Army thread Tuesday 1st June
Hi all,
Your posts have been entertaining but now I've got to head off home - wonder what makes us feel so positive in the morning and by night-time it's worn off - however, no AL for me tonight - you do all sound fun!

Take it way back Johnny boy.... way, way back. So far you don't remember you even thought about it never mind wrote it....johnnyh;873729 wrote: Dont' know y i just said that.. i'll take it back.
Here's an idea instead to help you relax this evening...
For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

I just feel week in a way... Don't think week enough to give in. But the thought struck me earlier that I would rather go to the pub and get drunk then go home and face all the chaos what the house looks like, what mood my wife is in, etc. i.e. running away from my problems.mario;873749 wrote: Why you said that johnnyhAF since 15th March 2010
The journey is the goal. As long as you're fighting the good fight and you're not giving up on giving up, you're winning. It's not about how often you get knocked down, it's about how often you get up again. Sobriety the goal for sure. But striving to get to that goal is what it's about. Not getting there. Because the journey never ends. The journey is the goal.

I won't drink tonight. It's a decision I will make but a decision I don't feel comfortable with. I just feel overwhelmed.AF since 15th March 2010

I had an idea that's what you meant but I would have gotten it quicker if your reference had been to "cracking walnuts" and not to "shelling peas" if you get my drift.....:H:HKTAB;873759 wrote: Sorry work getting in the way again.

Johnny you are far better sharing these feelings with us, I know personally that not doing so is far more likely to lead me to drink again.johnnyh;873763 wrote: I just feel week in a way... If you did it would escape the chaos for a while then you would feel really lousy and you know it.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Well tomorrow you may still feel overwhelmed but you won't have either a hangover or guilt to deal with as well.....johnnyh;873766 wrote: I won't drink tonight. It's a decision I will make but a decision I don't feel comfortable with. I just feel overwhelmed.
Why don't you try Starty's method of relaxing..
