i had another eye opener at my little social event last night. PEOPLE REALLY DONT DRINK THAT MUCH! there i was with my yummy fizzy elderflower stuff watching people. SIPPPING DRINKS... whats that all about. they were having a drink and a chat, now, if i had a drink i would have a drink and a drink and be hammered before i tried to chat and be a complete arse... it was so good not drinking. as i leapt on the ride on mower (it was turned off by then) with my tumbler full someone said HOW MANY OF THEM HAVE YOU HAD hee hee hee, maybe i just misbehave anyway. i even managed to put my foot in in it by saying to a couple of the wives ' oh i think some of the fellas just go to woodturning to have a cup o tea and a chat and to get away from the missus for a couple of hours'... WHOOPS!!! see i really dont need a drink WEHEY!

and the dogs had a lovely time, people kept feeding them.. a sausage here and a cheesy nibble there. oh and then i forgot about them and left them outside, tied up, in the rain.

It's amazing Spuds how little other peeps drink. Me and Mr JC went to a 50th in March and there were trays and trays of free champagne and there was still masses left at the end of the evening. If I'd been in drinkin mode there would have been an empty glass left on the table just me under it.

I have to say the opposite ...well in my bunch of friends I mean. They would drink the place dry amd then go looking for E's or summat.

I do know what you mean about going somewhere and others just having the one or two and leaving at that though.

one lady was sat with half a glass of wine in front of her for ages.. i kept looking at it and thinking HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO THAT. it would have been one 'sip' for me. i also noticed i had to have my fizzy drink with me at all times, and it had to be full, i kept topping it up. alki drinking while not drinking AL

oh .. and i was the ONLY smoker there, and still kept popping out for one.... RIDICULOUS STINKY FILTHY STICKS OF POISON. the raspberry pavlova was fecking gorgeous, as was the trifle and the chocolate cake. yeah ok im diabetic but we can inject and have a blow out now and again.... think i got a reputation as a piggy porker... better than a reputation as a raving alcoholic

I mean there were people that had a few over the top, a few that nice tipsy bit but no-one shouting come on lets go clubbing yer only 50 once...........that would have been me a little over a year ago.

i had the misfortune of trays of free bubbly once, at a do, trying to impress my new boyfriends parents..... ermmmmm. didnt go too well, ended up with me dancing on my knees in posh marquee..(not even sure if there was music on). glass in hand. needless to say i didnt meet them again
